ATTENTION: Very concerning to find that Sofirn have used a 32650 battery with a max current rating of only 6.5A. @@TopDog8762 Because they don't care. Sofirn/Wurkkos have a long history of caring very little when it comes to battery safety. The 18350 models are no different with built-in charging at 1-2A for a cell rated at 0.45A. I've reported this to Sofirn and Wukkos time and time again just to be ignored every time.

I would love to here you talk about this light and give your thoughts about it . Awesome job thank you for the nice video's I'm going thru them all now.
The results in the graphs are using the included battery, right? Using the Molicel P45B, do you think it could hold more time in turbo? Or the lumens dropped just because of the high temperature of the LED?
@@ANDREMARCOSPARENTI I used the included cell. Check out my friend's review, he tested with a P42A, and yes, it lasted much longer on turbo. timmcmahon.com.au/posts/sofirn-if30/
Molicell p45b: SPOT: 736m. SPOT/FLOOD: 680m 32650: (whatever this thing takes): SPOT: 711m. SPOT/FLOOD: 623m. Testers have noted that the light is damaging the stock batt overtime due to pulling too many amps on it and overloading it. 21700 fits easily, but needs a spacer to keep from wobbling about. Someone recommended a 3/4” rubber grommet.
Yeah, I use a 21700 to 26650 spacer with 2x rubber orings around it. Considered selling them but too much messing around. Disappointing that Sofirn couldn't care less about battery safety.
Does anyone else find the rotary knob hard to operate? I think it is, especially in cold weather, because of the amount of mechanical resistance and the sharp edges. Moreover, it takes several tries to unlock the flashlight. It does not work at once, like in the Marauder mini for example. Does it need some usage to become softer and more responsive? Or mine is perhaps defective? Once unlocked, it works fine.
Let me add an update here. I tried the LiitoKala Lii-50E 21700 battery in my IF30. I guess this battery is not protected (since there is no mention about it in its description). It is able to deliver continuously a current of 10A although the manufacturer mentions 35A, which should be for a short time if true. Anyway, I noticed that with this battery the light output is increased but most importantly it is much easier to unlock the flashlight than with the default 32650 battery. I did not expect that amperage would make a difference in such a basic function.
Excellent review as usual, thank you! The only item keeping me from purchasing th the IF30 is the unregulated driver. I hope Sofirn will incorporate regulated drivers on all their flashlights, it would be a game changer for me. Between the Sofirn and Wurkkos which light did you prefer? the beamshots looked similar except for the warmer tint color on the Wurkkos.
I enjoy the IF30 more because of its more compact size, but that's probably where it ends. I don't care for soda can models like the TS32 because of how bulky they can be, I enjoy more pocket friendly lights for me to use them often. The IF30 fits in my farm pants lol. The TS32 is better in almost every other way. I enjoy that you have dual controls so you can have max throw and only a little flood. When you have the flood on turbo you can't effectively see the range from the spot beam, and that's the only option with the IF30, that both flood and spot are locked together. Personally, I actually like a press and hold to adjust the brightness over this rotary switch, maybe it's because it takes 4 rotations and that can take too long. Love the Nichia LEDs on the TS32. I hate how slow the IF30 charges, the TS32 doesn't share this problem. The TS32 uses a buck driver for the spot beam, so that's much better even though it measures almost 100m less range, for the first little while anyway. It just depends on what each individual enjoys.

Doesn't seem to be. I'd remove the wrapper but not sure where to get a new wrap this size.. If it's protected it's doing a rubbish job with a cell rated for 6.5A and the IF30 drawing 37A.
I haven't reviewed long throw models to really help you there. I have the 3X21D coming up, but even though it has crazy throw, it reduces to a low output due to the unregulated driver. Still decent for the money.
Yeah, but that's Sofirn for ya. Low prices equal corners being cut. So many people praise them for high lumens, features, and price that they're not too interested in sustainable output. They now only use boost drivers when there's a lot of demand for an LED that's not available at 3V.
Luckily Wurrkos (who outsource the manufacturing of all their lights to Sorfirn) understood that regulated drivers is what people want and started adding that to their lights. The new version of the TS25 is also getting a boost driver.@@PiercingTheDarkness
