"THAT" 33:10 moment happened to me last week. I said something so vile to someone because I felt like they were hurting me with their words. My initial reaction was to try and justify to myself why I said it, knowing none of the reasons could ever suffice but I quickly had to shut up and cry to the Lord for His mercy because I directly sinned against HIM in that moment. I know He forgives me but I still feel hurt that I stooped so low because I thought I was above that, just like Pastor Matt said. I'm still dealing with guilt over it though.

I mean to say this is the nicest way... once you’ve repented and turned from a wrong action, it does not glorify God nor do you any good to remain in guilt. Be released from it, it’s not your burden to carry anymore. Maintaining a level of sobriety towards not commiting that deed again is good; but guilt and shame is the enemy’s stick to poke at you with, like after it’s forgotten in Gods mind. God bless you sister

I’m not a member of The Village Church, but my wife and I got introduced to Pastor Matt while going through a Marriage Matters course and we love his sermons. Thank you for your love for the Lord and all of your hard work, you and everyone in your ministry. God bless!

Not a member of The Village Church, not even American or living in the US, but I was introduced to Matt Chandler through my Mercy Ships friends during the early months of the COVID pandemic. I took a liking to Matt's sermons and preaching style, and said he is my favourite preacher, didn't watch anymore of his sermons until this sermon today. Still good! The Pharisee in the passage immediately reminded me of the character Homelander from The Boys comic and TV series. Obviously not at all wholesome, but there is one speech the Homelander gives in Season 3 that has the exact same sentiment as the Pharisee's prayer.

    Prosperity preacher?

Are you asking if Matt Chandler is a prosperity preacher? If you are asking that what would be the basis for that based on this sermon?

@@letsfindout6587 I am still not sure what you are asking. However, this sermon has nothing to do with the prosperity gospel and word of faith doctrine. This was a straightforward message about the meaning of justification through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It follows orthodox Christian teaching. Matt Chandler's theological view is through the lense of reformed theology. He would denounce the prosperity gospel as false teaching.

Matt is about as far opposite of prosperity preacher as possible.

Over 10 years ago when chandler got a tumor in his brain, doctors told him he has less than a year to live and even if he does he might not be able to ever have a functioning body… watch what he said about that time. Only God knows if he was sincere but he was much more content with seeing his savior than most Christians including me.

Matt Chandler is a false teacher.

Explain? I’m curious how someone would come to this conclusion.

    • @triggerwarning2982
      @triggerwarning2982 2 роки тому

@@MrRandomlaughs101 I’ll give you three examples then you should go do your homework on this wolf.
For one, he has traded the biblical gospel for the social gospel. He teaches that critical race theory is ok. He said if it came to hiring a white Pastor or a black Pastor he would always choose the black pastor even if he’s not as qualified. Chandler also took part in a Woke Church conference in 2019 where the entire premise of the conference was based on tearing down hierarchies of “white privilege.”
Two, Chandler is not only woke, but he has embraced the continuationist movement which intrinsically denies the sufficiency of Scripture. Continuationism is a serious theological error that has its roots in the early 2nd-century heresy known as Montanism.
Three,Chandler endorses feminism and unsound women preachers. By definition, a woman preacher is not biblically sound because the very notion of a woman preacher is antithetical to the Scriptures. However, what’s worse is a woman preacher who has embraced and teaches other false teachings and twists the Scriptures to say things the Scriptures don’t actually say. One of these false teachers is Beth Moore.
That should be enough to have any biblical Christian running from this unsound hireling.

@@triggerwarning2982 Chandler is one of the most sound teachers of our time. Chandler holds to the essential doctrines and I’ve never heard a sermon where he denied the sufficiency of scripture. Chandler is also far from “woke.” He believes in Christian sexual ethics and is pro life. “Woke” people usually approve of same sex marriage and are pro choice.
You’re entitled to your own opinion. Thanks for explaining your perspective but I disagree.

@@MrRandomlaughs101 an atheist could be pro life and against sexual immorality, that’s natural law! I noticed you didn’t address any of the concerns that not only I, but every other Reformed believer has been concerned about for 4 years. it’s not an opinion my man, this trash has been spouted from his own mouth. Do you not think the social gospel is a false gospel? Are you a charismatic who denies the sufficiency of scripture? Do you think women should teach? Chandler does. If you’re a sound believer you need to not follow men but the word of God. I liked Chandler 10 years ago but he’s gone off the deep end.
