Loving this podcast so much! People ripping into over hyped, deeply flawed media so i dont have to watch/read it is my favourite genre of youtube video!!!
Here comes the consolation: I certainly was immensely entertained by your wandering accent !
And i think i got the chuckles the clown reference from a silly dnd show youtube short (was he haunting the person who killed him or was that from a different dnd podcast that featured an unhinged clown ?)
I may be able to one up you guys on very niche clown references (that have unfortunately found their way into my daily vocab): "who wrote "Throne of Glass"? Clumsy the Clown?" 😅
EDIT: wow - that thing with the hand is truly just so bad. Why would anyone who relies on the full functionality of their hands willingly risk permanent damage??? Especially in this vaguely renaissance (???) setting!!! So sorry you two had to read that with your own eyes

    Spoilers:
Chuckles the mediocore clown taken out by a meatball! Beware, he may have the Clap but his powers of the Honk legion are immeasurable! His only weakness is that there is no wine in hell.
You know what would have made this chapter better? Nox keeps missing the target. Celery shows him how to improce and he follows her steps having a marked improvement, but no bullseye. Then as she walks away, he watches her go and smiles, throwing a knife without looking with suddenly a perfect form, straight bullseye.
Honestly if you are going to put up "book" reference and not go into detail then just make it smut based. I dont have to read "The lusty Argonian maid" in skyrim to have a half-decent idea what it's about.
Also Choal and Celery having exposition dump for forced romance.
The thing with the hand...yeah thats from idiots who hear of people punching and kicking things to "harden" their fists and legs. Your hand will bruise and bleed, but you don't want to break it. That leaves a permanent weak point, also "hardening bones" isn't even deliberate it just comes with punching things and usually trades off with crippling arthritis later on in life. But take all of that and chuck it out the window cause here is a more important question. What the hell is the assassin who specilizes in knives, stealth, and not getting into a straight fight doing brawling? Unless Maas is trying to imply that this is about knife trainning in which case given that sword/knife play relies heavily on DEXTERITY would be the worst thing you could do for trainning.

The broken hand thing is such an easy fix if Sara just took a fucking second to think about it.
Caelena is already established to be a brat -- its the only consistent thing about her. The assassin king or w/e is trying to train her to use her non dominant hand, right? You said it already, but he could have just tied one of them behind her back. Taking it a step further, she could argue doing such a thing is ridiculous and manages to escape her bindings every time. This would be an excellent opportunity to showcase her skills and rebellious nature.
So the assassin king is supposed to be protrayed as an absolute bastard, right? Instead of leaving the choice for Caelena to break her hand, he could instead forcibly break Caelena's arm. Breaking an arm is cleaner and has a better chance of healing than something as complex as a hand.

Chapter 14: the one I probably shouldn't show to my Australian friend so that she won't be tortured by the accents XD (alt: the one where SJM tells us that she knows diddly squat about how hands or injuries work)
In all seriousness, though, you have no need to worry about us being entertained, Avalon, because speaking for myself everything you guys say in these videos is pure gold!!!
