I loved the young lady on the left hand side of Caitlin, she will go a long way in life with her open mind, her willingness to learn and listen even when she doesn’t agree. She kept her self, her temper and her beliefs real to her right now. Great conversation. We need more conversation without anger, it just shuts the conversation down and growth of us being united.

I ran into your channel today and was very impressed, I am a Hispanic, and was also discriminated against in my lifetime. I am 65 years old so I did live the era not as a black but as a Hispanic. As per the question that Kaitlin asked the young lady about Black Lives Matter , my opinion is, she should have asked her, “If a black man was to come at this moment and shot you dead would your life matter? Should the black man not be prosecuted because his life matters more than yours.” I have been listening to your podcast since this morning I respect your values and truths, many people can’t handle the truth because the truth hurts so they create their own truth to be at peace with themselves because deep down they are still racist and try to hide it.

Possibly the most heartfelt video by the fam. It's not always easy to be honest when it comes to issues controlled by our ego, (proven several times in this video, ironically- and it makes it even harder when you know home crew is gonna pass judgement no matter what, but thats ok, some people hate Just to hate, and the reason they feel 'triggered' is cuz it's all they know. They'll bever be happy for anyone else succeeding, there is most likely a link anyone able to connect 2 dots together can see. They'll never know what happiness truly is or for that matter experience it. In turn you end up with some nasty ass people. I wasn't aware they came color coated like your college professor or woke non-parent or mainstream netwlrk anchorman have some fooled into believing. They were gonna attack from the jump, cuz they're really scared. Through repetition you are tricked into allowing yourself to be told what to believe instead of the truth, playing out in front of you. How is it popular opinion that if someone disagrees with you but passionately debates the given subject. Just think about it, but maybe I'm that way because I care about you. I want you to be around because you matter to me. They're who theyve always been, and proud of it, that's ignorance. I'm over here and I'm going to be myself forever, hate it or love it. You hate because that is the general state of mind you are in, and when your heart beats hard, it's clear what drives you to be that, argumentative instead of being open to new ideas, used to that way regardless of what you say. Same reason I'm wondering how it can be we go from celebrating superficial aspects of life one month, (no pride motivated white month though, tough tan line tee tee, but the people somehow get by without, in a way singled out in this sense. Privelage for me is that pride means nothing, nothing at all to me. I'm proud of who I am, my character and talents, least of all proud of what color my skin is. How superficial can you be? I hear no one complaining. Imagine that. But for real, how can a person go from being prideful to a victim depending on the occasion. It's for real exhausting. Fraudulent ass tuckjobs.

I have to give credit where credit is due, and even though Kaitlyn may not have changed the mind of the other young lady, and they disagreed, the conversation remained civil and respectful. This is how it should be, and I wish more people on either side of *any* issue interacted this way, and even if neither party changes his or her stance, it is always helpful to try to understand where the other person is coming from, and it is important to hear one another out, as this is becoming much less common, *today,* than it was when I was growing up (I was born in the 1970s).

The most virtuous and wonderful lady in my life growing up was my best friend’s grandmother and my best friend was a black girl. My parents were both drug addicts and the only sense of family, church and learning how to be respectful I learned from that amazing woman. My friends mother was also an addict and that is what brought us together. Her grandmother was raising her and her brother and she moved them into our area so she could keep her grandchildren away from the same people who destroyed her daughters life. This woman taught me how to cook, love Jesus Christ and respect my elders and taught me how to love some music. The racism that I’m seeing in the black and white communities is the horrible garbage that I saw from my grandparents generation because our politicians are bringing it back to keep us fighting each other so we can’t come together to fix this country and stop our government from robbing our children’s future. I’m 49 years old and this hatred needs to stop, the black people that I love and taught me right from wrong were church going people with values and they would never agree with what our government is pushing. One question I wish Kaitlin asked was "who specifically do you want to acknowledge that Black lives matter, before it counts as being acknowledged?" Regular people say it every day, all over social media, celebrities say it, politicians say it and have begun legislation in response, cops have been defunded, criminals have been released, white people are increasingly becoming second class citizens to "give room" to black people to flourish.... who exactly has been ignoring the situation? What emperor or king has not said anything? How much acknowledgement from everybody else does it take to equal this one hypothetical important persons acknowledgement? Its never made sense to me and feels like a cop out for when people are being held accountable for an end to the chaos.

But, I think the point Kaitlyn missed is when this happens most white people want severe punishment for them. White people do not defend them if killed by police. Where as we see black people who commit murder are put on a pedestal if killed by police. A mass shooting is 4 or more killed. And sadly that happens in drive bye shootings. But, if the suspect who did it is killed by police the black community is more likely to blame police than the suspect.

I just thought we were all Americans It started when blacks began putting African in front of American When they were not Africans.
And the most crime is blacks upon blacks And actually look up those shootings. I say to you Look up death certificates. That are all common knowledge to the public. It doesn't matter what the ethnicity might be; it shouldn't be a factor at all. And I shouldn't come to the defense of anyone committing the crime simply because of their skin color. However, we know this is a fallen world with fallen people doing fallen things and have fallen ways. There is zero way to legislate people out of being racist. There is only one answer: Jesus. The New Birth and renewing the mind with God's Word is the only solution. If we reject Him, we've rejected the only hope for this problem.

Youre just not always going to instantly win people's hearts and minds with facts and arguments when their personal experience shows them otherwise. Not until they've been introduced to it enough and that has to do with pride yes but some stuff just comes off as bullshit to people who've had a different experience.

I was arrested by a Latino cop when I was a child, buy i never once thought Latino cops whete out to get white people.
Because I was taught that skin color doesn't matter.
That yes racism exists, and yes the other isms and its exists, but I have also experienced a LGBT community member becoming a manager and after only hiring his lGbt friends

When I was a in my teen's I was as blind as this lady is to the reality of Black on Black Violence or just percentage of violence happening. in 1993 I took some friends of mine to a town in Maryland not far from where we lived to visit my friends cousin and in route my passage was pulled out of the car beat half the death, somehow he got back in, and my car was shot at and beaten in by bats. Later during the trial the young men who attacked us said they had nothing better to do. I think it doesn't matter if they were white or black to be honest, I think the point is 50% of 13% is a lot of people. That said I think there are equally as many people white black in jail.

The main thing about having these types of conversations is accepting facts as facts and not getting all up in your feelings when something isn't agreeable. I'm glad they can talk to one another and not AT one another. Keep in mind also that what color are the victims of these crimes? Someone does a drive by and accidentally hits a child doing her homework in the house, 9 times out of 10 that child was the same color as the person who pulled the trigger. You don't seem to see a lot of white people living in black neighborhoods and you see even less firing weapons indiscriminately.

Van, another great video. I really appreciate your honesty and insight. You hit the nail on the head with mentioning about how crime and violence within the black community is put up on Billboard. Neil deGrasse Tyson, who I think is one of the greatest gifts to our generation, should be an aspiration and inspiration for young black Americans. Sadly, most young black Americans don't know who he is, but they do know Young Thug.

Wow! Thank you so much for explaining your views as a black man about why negative black culture is being fueled by negative, highly sexualized, and violent media. I absolutely agree with you about this. I mean look at all humanity following trends whether its fashion, political, ethnic, social media. Making things like kindness a trend is very powerful. One kind act can turn into many more kind acts that may impact a persons entire life.
