I really like the Klingon ships such as the NuQ’Duj class scout, Klingon B'Rel class, K'T'inga Battle Cruiser, Negh'Var Battleship, Vor'Cha class Attack Cruiser, Ravenous class Battleship, Predator class, D7 class, Death Rite Cruiser, and many others.

The shields are clearly OP and/or the weapons are very UP! There's no way an Interpid class ship would stand up to that barrage for so long.

we had when we made the mod alot of Trek Alumni involved including many from the UUM mod for Star Trek Legacy for ship models (the best of the best)

The Miranda isn't a frigate. Its a Cruiser. Designed for exploration and combat support.

The background music sounds more like it's from starfleet acadamy than the armada series.

Love how he only says that Intrepid class was being "raped by Klingons" and not what it's actually used for.
Didn't Armada II have 8 playable races or am I confusing it with another game?...and it seems that there are some missing ships (e.g. constitution class, neg var class, etc.).
Shame the other Armada 2 ships for the Cardassians got shafted. The Sartan, Brinok, and Gyl Vystan were all great.
No Constitution Class Light Cruisers? Aw come on!
Late to the party, but it set in the next gen timeframe. The constitution was phased out at this point.
Also late but you can build Constitution refits if you acquire abandoned shipyards or by acquiring it through diplomacy with minor factions
Does this have a single player campaign mode with it?
lol, Obsidian Order icon used for Cardassian, come to think of it, isn't the obsidian order one of the minor factions you can ally with much like Ferengi and Marqis.

How do you turn off the display. So as to get the ship only on the screen.
There is no Phoenix Class. Game got that wrong. The USS Phoenix was a Nebula Class with a different tertiary Hull.
not sure. did you show the fighter of 1 faction? and leave out the fighter of the oher faction? only mentioning them and not showing them??
So, old video I know, but is there a limit to the number of sides you can mod into Sins?
there's no limit, no - but as the game is only a 32 bit application, even with large address aware, it will crash if you use over about 3.8gig of RAM for the game. This means there is a hard limit to what you can include if you want quality models, textures and particles.
i never understood how the ships in sta3 mod looked worse than the sta2 mod fleet ops.
Some how, for me personally, the TNG style ships just don't fit a game like this. But they are still cool. I think the TOS style ships from "Star Fleet Battles" would look great and are already kinda designated into roles like those in the game, so they'd be easy to fit into the niches for fleet support and whatnot.
I want to run this so bad but i've never have been able to get the mod to run successfully.
Music borrowed from Star Fleet Command game (1999). This game is based on ADB's Star Fleet Command board game and makes Bethesda's Star Trek Legacy look like the crap it is when it comes to game play.
K'relli class carrier borrowed from Star Fleet Battles (Klingon T6 battle tug with CVA pod).
Quonos class is actually D7N diplomatic cruiser Star Fleet Battles.
The Defiant is actually a PF (patrol fighter) not a cruiser. Other PF class vessels in Star Trek canon are the Peregrine class, which are used by both the Federation and Maquis. Sisko refers to Peregrines and Defiants as "fighters" in one battle action in DS9 by ordering "Tell fighters to attack". Concept borrowed from Star Fleet Battles as Star Trek has the rights to use anything originated in their franchises.
This game kind of looks like what would happen if Star Fleet Command was combined with Star Trek Armada..... something wonderful.

I prefer the original Armada game. On my Mac, I have a Windows XP virtual machine dedicated to work with this game. I have not been able to get that game to work on physical hardware anymore.
The federation designed 40 different classes of cruisers but not one gunship, frigate, destroyer or torpedo boat?
The Akira classifies as all of those type of ship classification except for a frigate, it's a gunship heavy torpedo boat, certain times a destroyer, and technically a carrier aswell, this game dosent give that ship its proper shine if you will.

It's the Spiritiual successor to both Armada and Birth of the Federation
Revkor Fleetops mod is very similar, it was for armada 2
