On the newer PIXMA TS5150 it's "press 20 times" not 5 times. And it worked! Saving me a visit to a Canon engineer that would cost more than a new printer...

After replacing all the ink cartridges (generic) and performing various reset versions, I gave up. Then I found yours! Your hard reset did the trick! Update, it worked to reset the printer but when printing through USB cable it took like 20 minutes to print a tiny picture. Should I update all drivers and firmware, since it was reset? 🙏
My MG5750 indicated the code B204, which several sites said was termina,l but after following your tip is now back operational again, it took 2 or 3 attempts but I can live with that. Thanks a bunch.

Thank you! It worked for me. I didn't have an error message but no ink would come out of the print head. After thoroughly cleaning the print head no change. Did your reset and boom- printing full color again!!
That's where I'm currently at. Thoroughly cleaned printheads. Left it unplugged for 3-4 weeks. But still "error B203". Today is Cyber Monday 2024... Gonna give this a shot first, before buying a new printer. Prices are ridiculous.

I cleaned the cartridges, the print head, the head contacts, changed the cartridges etc... but nothing worked. Still the dreadful B200 error message was there. I have just tried this for a B203 error code on my Canon MG7550 and IT WORKED!! I located the STOP button and marked it with a dry marker (only illuminates when power is switched on) so that I knew where to push before I pressed the power button. Then I followed all the steps, the only difference being that I had to turn the machine off myself as it didn’t shut down at the end of the process. Once I turned it on again....TA DAH!! Thank you for preventing another machine from ending up in landfill!

Started getting blank copies after reinstalling software to correct other print quality problems. Did hard reset only to get blank blank copies, no what ?????

@@roxxwii4680 - Same here with not working. I have the MG5720. The heads seemed to be ok. It wasn't recognizing one cartridge (even when putting a new one in). It went through the sequence and then lost the driver. Ugh.

I had to rest mine and I really didn't remember how. Thank you for your video. Sometimes, people have to reset several times before it will work... try to have patience people. It took me several tries since the night before but today after watching a part of this video... I tried again and it worked : )

I have a Canon Pixma MG6620 that I purchased new about 3-4 yrs ago. I've been successfully using a no name aftermarket ink cartridges (4 sets) at 1/3 the cost of (1) Canon OEM Ink. I've tested the aftermarket ink for color and durability and they match the Canon ink drop per drop! But, all of a sudden, after a recent software update, my printer suddenly stopped printing altogether! 🤔 I've attempted deleting the printer from the menu and adding it again, cleaned print heads, cleaned roller, cleaned tray... Conspiracy?!
something was jammed on printer so the flash went on but when i removed the foreign object it wouldnt turn off. which meant i couldnt print anything. Your video help remove the error message and my printer is working again thank you so much
Great video, I tried your reset method on my Pixima MG 4250 problem but it did not clear the 1702 ink absorber almost full message. I’ve removed the ink absorber pads and cleaned them, any idea how to reset the counter please.

I have a MG5722. The power turned after while printing. I tried the steps you provided but no success. I am unable to get power to the print. I tested the power cord and it has continuity. I switched to another power outlet knowing other devices have power. No success. I am at lost what the problem could be.

Any advice if you have soft buttons? they only light up for a second when I turn it off/ open the cartridge cover. I have an 1403 error code on MG7751 and tried cleaning the printer head, changing cartridges etc. Should I just bin it?
I took a piece of a sticky note and stuck it on the stop button for the moment everything lit up when turning on. After I did the pattern in the video and it apparently worked BUT after the last step it just was stuck in a cycle of power and error lights alternating.

Did your instructions and now the power button won’t even power it up. Arrrggghhhh…. Time to unplug and start again w/troubleshooting. Glad to see in the thread this helped resolve their issue. For me, back to the drawing board.😭
My printer's error code is B203, i chaged the ink box, but it is still there, and it's just 3yr old... i tried your advise step by step, but it is not reseting. the state of the printer now is like 0:55 but with no noise, the only sound i heard is my computer playing the connect sound.

I tried this, and it worked first, I even managed to print a nozzle check pattern, then the next day, I turned it on and back to error code! Further update, disconnected the printer for a week, reconnected started it with the hard reset and it worked, haven't turned it off, will keep it in sleep mode, I'm worried it will go back to error if I turn it off!
such clear instructions, thanks so much! I was able to get to the menu but any attempt to print or use any of the options to test the ink etc gets me back to the same error 6502. I used this printer with edible colors to print on edible paper. Any other suggestions will be much appreciated. Thank you much!!

Is there anyway to recover function after messing up this procedure? (I tried this reset method (from another source) on my older MG2560. My purpose was to access the ink carriage as it had stopped to the left and was inaccessible, as well the power button was blinking and could not be turned off.. I left the printer after yr step #4 to remind instructions (on computer, & not visible at the printer). [The print carriage had moved into the normal change cartridge station]. Unfortunately (?), i then re-started the process (from #1) so to get to the end in one go, (not knowing that by releasing the power button to reread instructions , i had completed the process. Doing that caused the ink carriage to go back to the left and for the power button to return to blinking. Not knowing the possible dire consequences i redid the whole process again- third time, however this time instead of activating from the stop button the Power button light went out and would not turn on again until I disconnected the power supply for 10 mins. It is now back to blinking with the ink carriage back to left and briefly showed the amber light alert for low ink. The other site indicated that this reset method only works once/twice before the unit is triggered into replace me mode as repair costlier. IS THIS TRUE?

Many Thanks for previous reply. Ok Please let me ask a differently. Is there a fix to access the ink cartridges, which are presently hiding to the far left and inaccessible? What happens: 1.On Powering up the printer: _ the green power light flashes a few times _amber ink alert light commences to flash in rep's of 8, (green power light becomes stable). 2. On opening the drop down door to access the ink cartridges: _ the triangle-amber light goes out. _power button green light begins to flash continuously until it's powered off. _the ink cartridges do not return to an access position. _they will alternate from one side of ink carriage to the other with each repeat of power on / off while the door is down. When printer is connected to the computer the printer app advises that printer is offline. This occurred after a low ink level warning. Hopefully there is a simple answer ??

Almost, but it never turns off after doing that procedure. After I power it off and on again myself it returns to it's previous error code.

Is it possible to return to factory settings for newer touchscreen pixma printers? 😐 Power is the only physical button, rest are "digital".

Thank you - this worked. My Canon Pixma G1220 kept restarting print jobs and it was so frustrating and wasteful. It is printing smoothly now.

On my 2520 printer, these steps just put it Off Line. How do I reset Ink Absorber counter after cleaning ink well.

Hi there, this is a great video and I tried it. Unfortunately my printer Canon TS5051 didn't get fixed and is still just printing blank pages! I've tried loads of things. Any ideas why or what I can do other than buy a new printer please? Many thanks 😃
Not clearing the 1660 code with off brand cartridge....any suggestions???
I tried this, and it worked first, I even managed to print a nozzle check pattern, then the next day, I turned it on and back to error code!
Further update, disconnected the printer for a week, reconnected started it with the hard reset and it worked, haven't turned it off, will keep it in sleep mode, I'm worried it will go back to error if I turn it off!

such clear instructions, thanks so much! I was able to get to the menu but any attempt to print or use any of the options to test the ink etc gets me back to the same error 6502. I used this printer with edible colors to print on edible paper. Any other suggestions will be much appreciated. Thank you much!!

Is there anyway to recover function after messing up this procedure? (I tried this reset method (from another source) on my older MG2560. My purpose was to access the ink carriage as it had stopped to the left and was inaccessible, as well the power button was blinking and could not be turned off.. I left the printer after yr step #4 to remind instructions (on computer, & not visible at the printer). [The print carriage had moved into the normal change cartridge station]. Unfortunately (?), i then re-started the process (from #1) so to get to the end in one go, (not knowing that by releasing the power button to reread instructions , i had completed the process. Doing that caused the ink carriage to go back to the left and for the power button to return to blinking. Not knowing the possible dire consequences i redid the whole process again- third time, however this time instead of activating from the stop button the Power button light went out and would not turn on again until I disconnected the power supply for 10 mins. It is now back to blinking with the ink carriage back to left and briefly showed the amber light alert for low ink. The other site indicated that this reset method only works once/twice before the unit is triggered into replace me mode as repair costlier. IS THIS TRUE?

@slvrtrz3000 Buy the ink refill kits and refill the cartridges yourself. It's SO much cheaper that way.
@@jekessajohnson9673 I'm sorry. I just read your comment. I missed it somehow. I know it's been 11 months since you posted it, but I hope that you figured it out by now. It was really easy and it took about 2-3 minutes total to go through the whole cycle.

Is there a fix to access the ink cartridges, which are presently hiding to the far left and inaccessible?
What happens:
1.On Powering up the printer:
_ the green power light flashes a few times
_amber ink alert light commences to flash in rep's of 8, (green power light becomes stable).
2. On opening the drop down door to access the ink cartridges:
_ the triangle-amber light goes out.
_power button green light begins to flash continuously until it's powered off.
_the ink cartridges do not return to an access position.
_they will alternate from one side of ink carriage to the other with each repeat of power on / off while the door is down.
When printer is connected to the computer the printer app advises that printer is offline. This occurred after a low ink level warning.
Hopefully there is a simple answer ??
Our Canon Pixel TS6120 Printer, is not working. The power light is just on, but the screen won't turn on/work. I hope you can help me fix it. Or should I let a professional do it?

Hi, tried this and another method (very similar) on my MG2500 (no screen/display) but after the first step of pressing the stop button 5 times, when it stops, if I press the power button again it simply turns off. Any idea on what to do?

HI THERE. I HAVE AN " MG 5655 " PRINTER SCANNER AND SUDDENLY IT STOPED PRINTING.
IT ACTS LIKE IT'S PRINTING BUT THE PAPER COMES OUT BLANC. IT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE WITH AN OTHER CANON SO I'M BEGINING TO THINK THAT MAYBE IT'S DONE ON PURPOSE. LIKE IT STOPS PRINTING AFTER A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF PRINTS. IS THERE A WAY I CAN FIX THIS ? THANK YOU.
