I really appreciate you guys doing your videos on the Skout Epoch and this comparison to the FX Panthera. While comparing both these two rifles is like comparing apples to oranges it is still is good to point out their features. I was excited to see Skout Epoch coming out with its new operating system but the lack of information on all aspects of its performance was slow to come out and still not complete. I do see Skout is making informational videos on operational aspects of the Epoch which I give them credit. I myself was looking for a power house air rifle to do heavier pesting like shooting groundhogs at longer ranges. I decide to order the FX Panthera 600mm in .30 cal. and will have a 700cc bottle added up front for increased shot count and with the 8mm hammer installed too. I decided to hold off on buying the Epoch because the lack of some information on some aspects of the rifle also the rifles heavier weight, no slug barrels (at this time) and the loud muzzle report. That is not to say I will not buy the Skout Epoch in the future as more performance information and videos are made. If you guys get a chance I would like to know what the shot count you get at one or more settings. I would like to see how you adjust the pressure settings say going from low power tune to a high power tune. Say from a pellet tune to slug tune though I know the slug barrels are not out yet. Another thing I find in general with pellets are that some are undersized in skirt and head diameters. Therefore it might be good to test shoot the Skout Epoch with its three different liners to see for accuracy differences. Thanks and keep up the good work. Oh I will add another possible test video you might do. That would be a decibel reading between the Skout Epoch and FX Panthera or other popular airguns that many people own. The Epoch certainly seems loud and the FX Panthera is said to be louder than most of the FX rifles. I believe you said the Epoch would need an adaptor to be made. It would be nice to see if one of the DonnyFL moderators could quite down the Epoch
Hey William this is Manny with ft airguns I appreciate your reply great idea about how to tune from high to low power settings also FYI the scout epic did come with three barrels and I do believe the s Plus their oil is supposed to be able to shoot slugs
Hopefully soon I will be able to do some of those videos that you referenced as well as but the other barrels in and test them as well thank you for the advice and the reply feel free to contact us by phone anytime you need anyting or by e-mail
Awesome video. Have you been able to receive an Epoch slug barrel? I would love to see a comparison of the two with same caliber and with slugs. Also the video could be longer. It would be nice to have some time to tune both guns and then shoot.
I have 700mm panthera in .25 and I can tell you first hand that the length isn’t an issue for hunting. I have several hours of stalking through the woods in the middle of the night with a DonnyFL on the end of mine.
well depends on the hunter and type of hunting but is NOT a hunting gun. I been hunting with FX crown and yes is not a problem for me, but inside the truck... well you understand. at the end depends on the hunter, for me is not a problem a long gun for hunting. I will take a Crown over the Panthera all day for normal pellet hunting for the shot count.
The only way to make an accurate video like this is to have 2 professionally rated marksmen do the testing. All one has to do is watch an RMAC competition where everyone has the best airguns money can buy and they are tuned perfectly for 100 yards. Bench shooting is a science as well as a skill. I see guys making head-shots on prairie dogs at 2-300 yards all the time without a bench. The same with Pigeons at over 100 yards.
Thanks for your comment. I'm an airgun pro shooter, for example in RMAC I have one 2nd place, I been shooting over 500yd for a while, and I agree with you, but at the end just depends, the comparation here is just one experience just a picture with 2 guns almost out of the box. is not THE revealed true of all of the times written in stone.
@@FTChile I want you to know, I enjoy your videos. I wasn't trying to be coy either. I'm a Marine vet that started shooting when I was like 5. I thought I was a damn good shot when I joined. In most circles I was. But, the training I got in the corps was priceless. I've never competed in any firearm or Airgun competition. I'm retiring next month and want to get involved. I tend to get a little cynical on YT which is my bad, but when I watch people using a weapon like my SK-19 against a Blitz and the Blitz wins, I call BS. I own both. Guys get paid to plug guns. I get it. The Blitz isn't in the same zip code as the SK in any category. That's why the SK costs more than twice as much. I will put up my SK against any FX. It's all about the tuning. I consistently shoot 1/2" groups with it at 100 yds rapid fire. If I take my time, It's one hole. My next investment is going to be the epoch. If I don't like it, I'll sell it, but I'm intrigued. Thanks for replying and know that I enjoy your videos.
Not sure shooting pellets through a dedicated slug gun like the Panthera was a good comparison. Maybe shoot the 500mm Panthera in 30 cal since it has the standard Superior liner and will shoot pellets better than the heavy liner in that long Panthera.
and then will be a pellet v/s slug and is not fair too. But yes, it will be better other video with Panthera .30/600 v/s Epoch .30 pellet v/s pellet same caliber. next time for sure thanks for watching!
This is very true. But there's always a but, it can be very tricky trying to figure that out. I really thought it was me that was causing poi shifts. I found out it was the barrel I just cleaned. Then it was the barrel index, then it was the tune, then it was the slug or pellets fps, then it was the wind, then it was me😂😂😂😂
Shot count is very important to me. From what I understand the Skout EVO has a higher shot count in the FX impact Mark 3 using the same caliber, same weight slug weight Slug and same barrel length. Is this correct? I know somebody who has an fx impact Mark 3 and he told me that he gets 70 to 80 shots .25 700mm barrel shooting slugs at around 950 fps.
I would love to pin this video on my channel, I love you guys videos, I love the fact that you guys pay attention to the, you are not just did to sell guns on that it you focus on the customers that's really good, right now I think you guys probably the best place to buy a rifle from right now, good customer service and I believe something is wrong, you guys would take care of it
appreciate the video... of note... paper is cheap, for a pro demo put out some fresh paper background and fresh targets and mark/label your targets for your viewing audience; it will look soooo much better! thanks.
I'm surprised that you didn't properly prepare your guns prior to what seemed like you just jumped into a video. You didn't show anything that each gun is capable of. Why would you shoot pellets out of a Slug gun and expect a good grouping. If I didn't know any better, I would never consider purchasing an FX Panthera. Please try this again, only do it after plenty of planning and preparation. Remember the 7 P's. Proper Planning & Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance

Actually guys, we tested 50 grain slugs with the .30 cal 35" Epoch and it shot them very well at 50 and 75 yards.
Not a fair comparison. .25 vs .30. The .30 will be slightly more accurate in the wind due to the heavier grain pellet vs the .25.
actually, is the oposite
.30 have the worst BC and the balance is worst too, more % weight on front.
Sometimes actually mostly accuracy issues is the shooter and not the rifle.
