Hello, Sherlock Holmes. Thank you very much for this excellent review. I was impressed and bought this device from Lenovo Australia. It is a fantastic device. Battery life is surprisingly more prolonged than expected, camera performance is excellent, and the phone is fast. The most important findings are that the edges are not sensitive to accidental touch and that voice quality is enhanced by AI. It also ensures clear voice communication in a noisy environment. It's just impressive!
I actually like mine more than I thought too. Battery life for me has been great. Even at 120hz refresh rate you can get 2 days of moderate use. Use 60hz you can get a day and more of heavy use with some to plenty to spare, at least for me so far. Sound for media and calls are very good too. For me, performance is great but Im not a power user. Weakest is prob the camera, its not terrible by any means, photos are mostly good, videos not quite as good, but keep the phone slow and steady with no fast movements and results are still decent.

I dont think the camera is terrible at all. Maybe compared to higher end phones yeah but you can get good shots with camera still, in ideal conditions. Videos not quite as good, little options for actual setting types, its 1080P 30 only it seems. My mom has a G84. Its a nice and good looking phone and performs well enough for her basic needs. Overall physical quality seems to be subpar actually. Mom works as a nurse so her job can be quite hectic sometimes. She has a case since day one and doesnt take it off. She dropped the phone once and the ultrawide camera cover glass cracked. The case has a big bump around the camera rectangle too so its quite strange that the crack happened. Also, the coating on that glass seems to be really bad and has worn off after a month, causing these weird dirty looking patches on both lenses, making the images really blurry. They are not coming off. I tried all sorts of solutions for cleaning except 99% IPA since i know its a rather strong solution that will dissolve the oleophobic coating on any screen (as me how i know) although i dont think that matters anymore lol. The screen, while good to look at, seems to be very prone to burn in. The navigation buttons have burned themselves in after 2 months. A great contributor to that is just the fact that mom, as any other person her age, always uses her phone at full brightness (idk how they do it). Still, i expected no burn it after such a short time. Its quite disappointing that a charger doesnt come in the box anymore. The G84 came with a decent 33w brick that charges the phone relatively quickly. Same with the headphone jack. At least the case is still there right? Overall i hope the G85 doesnt have the same quality issues as the G84 seems to have. Looks good though, i like the colors both the G84 and the G85 offer.

@fonzitheman that makes sense on a legal marketing level... Actually couldnt see in any reference on either the motorola site or gsmarena myself when i checked a few days back but maybe i just missed it
Can anyone confirm that the UK version of this phone at Argos and Amazon UK comes with a charger, they say it does and does it come with a clear case and screen protector.
Real shame about this phone. There is nothing really compelling about it that really sets it apart from the G84 to be worth the extra £130-140 price premium over the G84. I mean there are some minor differences. Its slightly bigger, cameras are upgraded, turbo'd CPu, maybe it has a better screen. But £130-140 buys a hell of a lot of beer and BBQ. Im just saying. Had They changed the CPU to a beefier chipset inline with more premium offerings then maybe *SOME* debate could be had but £300 is a scam when the G84 exists at its current price.

I have a Moto G84 but The Problem Is Motorola Smartphones Doesn't Get any CUSTOM ROM support. I still regret the fact that I Didn't Bought The Poco F5 Instead. 😢
Only reason I'm buying a Poco F6 next month
Where does it say its water repelent? I couldnt find any reference for that... The g84 was ip54
GSM Arena says water repellent.
Also, official Motorola site also says that in its specs.
But pretty much everything is water repellent to some degree.
So without an official IP rating, water repellent doesnt really mean much does it.
@fonzitheman that makes sense on a legal marketing level... Actually couldnt see in any reference on either the motorola site or gsmarena myself when i checked a few days back but maybe i just missed it
Bro where does he get those hot wallpapers from , I want too

'Vegan leather', otherwise known as plastic

Really not vegan... Just made from some older animals...
i like this with compact style .. pocket phone
Can anyone confirm that the UK version of this phone at Argos and Amazon UK comes with a charger, they say it does and does it come with a clear case and screen protector.
When you getting the Pixel Fold Pro brother...
I got g84 for £160 so pretty much half 👍
G84 - 211 eur / G85 263eur😏

Hi. Does Android Auto work on this handset? Many thanks.
Stock android phones perform somewhat better with entry level processors.
Loved the early google Motorolas like the moto G and X but their phones have lacked any character since Lenovo took over. They just release loads of similar boring phones that are not even that cheap anymore.
Oi Uncle Spurt, it's gotten so hard to look for reasonably small phones😢. I have reasonable large hands so 6.1 inches is just the right size for me. Sorry from Samsung's base model and the pixel a series, I haven't been able to find any
Is there a headphone jack?
How above the new release moto budget friendly moto S050 neo 2024 ?
I believe the S50 Neo is just the chinese or other name of the G85 but the Neo version does have some diff RAM/Storage size options.
does it have 2 physical sim slots?
I like that its curvy...easier on trooser pants like. I've got G53 and might just upgrade
