    Great video steve one of the best effects is to get a clear beach ball or a clear square inflatable object if you inflate it with smoke then shine the laser thro it with a image ....it then produces a holograpic effect ....the cube also works well mapped on string instruments as tried it on my guitar neck.....i also saw someone use a stand behind his dj stand with folded tull on it in sortof steps with the laser pointing up and this was a great effect. you could try a few of these ideas in your next video

    Always excited to see you release another video! The fabric idea made me start thinking - has anyone you know done a true 3-D effect using fabrics with differently spaced holes related to the angle of incidence of the laser beam so you could modulate the beam and colors to strike the desired depth of fabric? As I type this i think maybe shotting from an angle with multiple units/screens may be a better idea, but either would be an interesting experiment. Thanks again for sharing!

    • @LearnLizard
      @LearnLizard  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching this one and the comments about the fabric. I experimented a little bit with multiple layers, but it's hard to get different images on each layer (unless you had multiple lasers shooting at an angle on each sheet) I went to a Steven Wilson concert a few years back and he did some interesting effects projecting on a big transparent screen. If you have success with any of your experiments with fabric I'd love to see if you could post a link.

    Help me understand Lasercube and safety. I see a lot of videos showing laser projection onto t-shirts, arms, musical instruments - close to faces and eyes. In this video, you demonstrate using glass to diffuse , but my experience doing similar with Class 1 laser pointers tells me the beam can be diverted in many not always predictable directio .
    My question is, of course, how do we keep everyone safe?

    • @LearnLizard
      @LearnLizard  Рік тому

      Great point about keeping people's eyes safe. The beams of the laser should always be far above the audience and not directed at reflective surfaces. For many of my videos I have the power level of the laser set to a lower than maximum value and try to be very aware of where the reflections are.

    Hi, for the water effect, I find that it is easier to use just a normal projector and finer droplets of water and also project from behind to get the water screen effect. I know you can't do this with lasers but just wanna tell you that it works well like that. Love your videos!

    • @LearnLizard
      @LearnLizard  2 роки тому

      Thanks for that good info. I'm really curious to know what kind of nozzle you are using to get the finer water drops. Please let me know and I'd love to see video of the effect if you have a link. Appreciate you watching!

      @@LearnLizard I actually used 2 sprayer attachments that you can put on some hoses then set one to mist and set it either upside down or like you did in the video and I set the other hose to flat and put that one behind the first one. The mist helps create the fire effect that you were talking about in the video. But if you don't want the fire effect, I guess you don't have to use the mist one although I haven't tried it without the mist one off yet. Hope that helps!

    Tulle trick looks cool but I'm still wary about using it to project in front of performers. It doesn't take long to burn a hole in a retina with a laser powerful enough to light up a stage.

    • @LearnLizard
      @LearnLizard  6 місяців тому +1

      True enough but if the laser is side projected away from the performers it is a way to minimize risk. That said, lasers like this need to be treated with great care! Appreciate you watching.

    Compliments for the video as always.
    Few questions for you :
    What's the best item to obtain an aurora FX from a laser ?
    What about using "Aqualung" (by Jethro Tull) as intro soundtrack for every video you post ?
    Best regards.

    • @LearnLizard
      @LearnLizard  2 роки тому +1

      Hi- There are lots of different ways to create aurora effects. Wicked Lasers sells an Optics kit for about $160 here: www.laseros.com/lasercube/
      If you take the time to scavenge bits of glass or use mixes of clear epoxy glue on glass you can come up with DIY solutions as well. I don't think there is a "best"- just what works for you the best.
      BTW- always been a Jethro Tull fan!!

    • @Francesco-1988
      @Francesco-1988 2 роки тому

      Thank you for the answer,Mr.
      Now I go checking for...
      BTW I made a mistake : your intro track reminds me of "Thick As A Brick" as a leitmotiv....(very nice flute)...though I think UA-cam would not allow it due to copyrights.

    This was awesome to see. I have projected some of my cheap lasers into the trees and have gotten really cool lightning bug effects but I have never tried the tulle or water. For those of us who cannot yet afford one of those amazing laser cubes, do you have any suggestions on decent quality lasers for a slightly lower price? I currently use the U' King Mini lasers (which I believe are very similar to the ones you showcased in a video about 6 years ago about DMX programming). I like them a lot and they get the job done when I dj but I can tell that they are not the greatest quality. What would you recommend if I'm looking to up my game a step or two? P.S. you have a new subscriber!

      @deli2943 2 роки тому

      Follow up - I found another video on this channel titled 'Budget Lasers side-by-side: U'King Animation vs 6 Beam' that answers my above question. The U'King Animation looks like a great budget laser that you could try pointing at the tulle/mesh.

    • @LearnLizard
      @LearnLizard  2 роки тому +1

      Glad you found the video on the U'King Animation laser (and sorry for my delayed response) It is definitely a nice little unit for a LOT less than a LaserCube. And the effect on the tulle is pretty amazing in real life- the camera doesn't really do justice to how amazing it looks. Appreciate you watching!

    Awesome video as always! With the fabric, how much does "bunching it up" affect how the laser interacts with it?

    • @LearnLizard
      @LearnLizard  2 роки тому

      Hey Jeff! Good question. I found it definitely creates the best effect with a single layer, and as flat as possible. When I tried multiple layers or it got bunched up, the screen was more opaque and the effect diminished. Appreciate you watching this one!
