Burger King has a larger patty, better flavor and a sesame seed bun. $2.49 for McDs, $2.19 for BK. The onions on a new McDs burger are imbedded in the patty
That is just insane. Up into the 2000's here you could buy them for 89 cents and it was on Tuesday or Wednesday they were 69 cents each. They were also big enough to cover a big chunk of a hand. I used to get three of them and large order of fries and be stuffed with a big appetite. The Big Mac is a total joke now.
My local restaurant has them priced at $2.99+tax CAD. So if all you get is just that then the tax is lower making it $3.12 CAD or $2.30 USD. These come with reconstituted onions. The slivered onions are put on the Quarter Pounder. Though sometimes I will ask them to sub the slivered onions on my McDouble. Our McDouble meal deal is now $5.79+tax CAD and it is a small drink & fries that comes with it. I used to order Double Cheeseburgers on their own, but I can't justify an extra slice of cheese being $0.80 more (when it's only $0.65 on other burgers). So they're charging you an extra $0.15 for no damn reason. $3.39 vs $4.19! I bring some cheese slices of my own when I know I'm going to McDonald's to save myself a couple bucks. They seem to forget ingredients a lot lately. I bought the latest limited time burger in Canada, The Big Arch and I asked for extra crispy onions and they forgot them totally. For an $11.30 after tax burger it's ridiculous to forget an ingredient. The second one I got they remembered the crispy onions, but forgot the slivered onions. You just can't win with the quality control sadly. So I definitely agree the value just isn't there. Heck, their fries are so overpriced. I'd rather go get some Wendy's fries and some cheese sauce to dip them in for the same price or even less.
@@KDDE. They seem to pre cook the patties then reheat them as people order. Nothing reheated in the microwave tastes as good as when it was just cooked. Years ago they used to cook them from frozen and put them in a bin at the register, they would keep them in the warming bins for a certain amount of time with a numbered tag by each batch. When the second hand of the clock reached that time on the tag without someone buying them, 15-20 minutes then they would “waste” them (throw them in the garbage) as the quality would have declined if the food is kept in the bin longer, the manager miscalculated how busy it would be and had the grill people cook too many burgers, quarters pounders, fish, ect. Youngsters don’t know what they are missing taste-wise with the old school McDonalds food, even the fries tasted better because they were cooked in tallow back then. I don’t eat at McDonalds anymore, we were spoiled with the good stuff back then.
Yeah, it was at least a decent value in the 90's when I was a kid and my parents could feed themselves and my brother and I for $20. I couldn't even afford a wife personally and she abandoned me with our son to be a prostitute (because it's easier) and just for my son and I it's about $20 so the prices have easily doubled.
last time i did a happy meal review a few weeks ago I got a hamburger version. And for the very first time, I asked for extra ketchup & pickle on it. It made a world of difference to me. The price of the Happy Meal was 4.19, when they used to be 3 bucks as part of a bundle meal.
you can buy 2- mcdoubles which each have 2- 1/10th pound patties for just $4 which makes each one $2 (cheaper than a single cheeseburger. THAT IS SAD. and back in the day a hamburger was $.59 and a cheeseburger was $.69
They never used slivered onions.. It was always dehydrated onion bits.. I used to hydrate them when I worked there… if you want an onion taste, you have to ask for extra..they do use slivered onions on the quarter pounder with a mild taste.. Ask for extra if you want the taste..
MIA 😂 I love onions. If they're missing, I'm pissed off. Texture is everything! As for what you asked for in the comments, Very Pitiful! The quantity and quality of it! $2.69 for that?! That's crazy! I only eat at McD's through the app! Even that's pitiful! So sad! This world is in a mess! Especially since Covid and way before! It's gotten to the point where I can barely afford to eat at any fast-food restaurant! 😒 Thank you, Tony for this review. 👍
I ate one yesterday. Mine didn't have mustard (are they supposed to come with mustard?) but it did have onions. I remember when you could get a two cheeseburger combo meal, fry and a drink for $2.99. That's about what it is worth, really.
As a teen I worked at a McDonalds in the late 70’s unlike Que-mala Harris, and the quality of the burger back then was waaay better than the processed, reheated/nuked crap they sling now.
i ordered a meal deal recently and the mcdouble was so small. i felt so ripped off that i almost went back but i didnt because it was like 12 in the morning
Honestly it seems to taste better than recent years. Still not worth it though. I miss that all of their burgers used to be larger, thicker, and tastier. I understand that ingredients cost more for the original recipes but that excuse only goes so far. I mostly blame Super Size Me and his lies. I hope that people in the accident is ok
Basic hamburgers/cheeseburgers and even chicken are less than $2.00 where I am. The burgers are too salty but the chicken tastes OK. "Good" fast food will cost you over $10 for a meal option.
COMMENT about Prices: I took my girlfriend ( Wife 59 years Ago Now) to McDonalds for Lunch. Helen got a Cheeseburger Fry and a Coke and I got 2 Burgers Fry and a Coke~~~~~~WHAT do you THINK it Cost for all of this food, inc. Tax, on that "Date"? READY~~~WHAT did you GUESS??~~~So that's 3 Burgers, 2 fries and 2 Cokes~~~~ $5....$4......$3....HOW about 92¢ FOR EVERYTHING??? These were ALL Rgular Prices too...No Deals OR Discounts in 1965!!
They are overloading the bread dough at the factory where the buns are made, full of DATEM. That is a dough conditioner to make the dough seem more premium and makes its last longer.
It's $2.89 near where I live. I just refuse to go there. I stopped eating fast food for the most part but went to Carl's Jr because I was driving a truck and hungry. That burger was disgusting, their "special sauce" was horrible. Ate about half and then right into the garbage. No pickles or onions? If people would simply stop going to these trash restaurants, they would wake up. Garbage in Garbage out. And as for the prices; We've had an idiot President that caused inflation to skyrocket and a $20/hr minimum wage (here in looney California) for unskilled workers. What do you think is going to happen?
Using the app is definitely the way to go. At least here in Utah. I picked up a Double Cheeseburger (free in the app today), a small fry and a Large Diet Coke for under three bucks. Really quite the deal these days! Regarding the standard cheeseburger. Like you said, it's edible. However, for me, it's the fries and the Diet Coke that really stand out at Mickey Dees. Missing these days is the sense of fun that was so prevalent a couple of decades ago. I miss the old cheesy decor. Everything is too sterile these days.
McDonald’s by my house has a meal deal, two cheeseburgers large fries and a large drink for $10.45. I usually get that with a Mcchicken . Medium size meal is a dollar less.,
For real, you can purchase a tub of plain nonfat greek yogurt for $4 and it's less than 300 calories, has nearly 50 grams of protein, and has hardly any sodium and no sugar. Buy a couple potatoes and bake them and slather on a ton of greek yogurt and you'll be full for the entire day and under 500 calories I kid you not. Then just munch down on low calorie vegetables and throughout the day and you'll lose 10 pounds a month guaranteed and actually gain muscle.
It's really hard to compare these things from 30,40+ years ago on quality and price. Quality of everything has gone down and of course it's not going to be .69c anymore 😂. Are wages $3.50 per hour now. And it couldn't of been that far out of his taste buds because he ate it And quality I mean the workers. If you have trainers who don't care then those they train won't care either

That should go straight in the trash without the delicious pickles.
With just sound only, I'd swear this was Doug DeMuro. lmao.

Diced onions are listed. They sit on a throne of lies.
Great video idea! Wendy’s Daves single still holds up till the is day!
Wish they would just make this cheeseburger 2 for $4.00
I was gonna go, but it would cost 8$ for nearly nothing. I think I'd be happier with the 9$ after tax.
1974 had my first cheese burger from Maccas, AU 0.50 cents = 0.33 USD. From Fremantle WA.
mcdonalds app helps ALOT
Definitely
what happened to the roof of your car?
I'd say that's why the mcdouble is more popular. Not en enough meat compared to bread with the standard cheeseburger.

My go to burger at McDonald’s is the hamburger. I think the bun is different. Definitely better than the cheeseburger.

Trust and believe. It's pitiful, which is why I either go to a Five Guys, a mom-and-pop burger joint, or make one at home.

It's too much bun but it has to be because they use that bun for a lot of other sandwiches
I remember as a kid eating 4 or 5 at a time. That was when they were like 49 cents
Mc Donald's cheeseburgers have always had a 1/10lb patty. At least they did in 1984 40 years ago when I made them. They were 39 cents then.
$0.39 in 1984 is worth $1.18 today just to illustrate the crazy increase
