Did one of the Firefighters say, "I hope it's one of those hot teachers there." LMAOF!
To get a ride along it is easy when your above the certain age, all you need to go to the station, ring the door bell, and ask. If you under there ride along age limit then you need your parents to sign a waver and you get to get on a truck for a ride along. Also, in the this departments and other departments have contracted EMS ambulances to come so we send a Engine company to get there faster. LACoFD sends there engine for man power and get them prepped for transport even faster than having only 2 guys.
to you guys asking why a fire truck went and why firefighters would go on a medical call.. its because in los angeles county most firefighter are also paramedics and the ambulance is provided by a private company and its staffed with emts which can not handle all medical calls. the engine carries all the ALS gear on it. most cities in socal dont have there own ambulances they just contract a company.
+jim smith Same where I live in Arizona. We have AMR, which has EMTs so a fire engine goes to the call, and when the ambulance transports, a firefighter rides with the ambulance to the hospital.
that's some nice driving by the engineer
Good siren and horn discipline, great driving. This is how it's done. Great job, guys!
Siren and horn discipline? What is that exactly? There was a lot of siren. Spoken like a true buff. Are you a real firefighter or just like to weigh in on what's right and wrong?
0:13 I've never seen anyone open a door like that before. Great video though.
Not too often you see a modern truck with a manual transmission. LACoFD ran sticks well into the 90s.....even on the tilt cab rigs like this.
Where do you get the idea this is a manual transmission?
dr.Brackett made the paramedic programs in 1970's
Nostalgia....the ridealong I ever did was with LACoFD Station 73 when I was in Fire Science classes at COC. Then I was hired as a firefighter/EMT in Arizona. Thanks for the video.
very nice ride along e 73!
A 25 year old fire truck in CA is far different from a 25 year old fire truck in New England. The winters and the road salt are hard on our trucks around here!
Holy crap, I grew up there! Flying down San Fernando Rd....blowing by Lyons Ave...past the Metro Link station and Newhall Hardware, then back onto San Fernando past Hart Park heading down to the 14! I drove that exact route every day...what a nostalgia trip :)
SCV forever, Baby!
Oh, and those SCV LACoFD Firefighters are BEAST! It's around 95-105 degrees everyday from July-October in Newhall and they get a LOT of brush fire calls!
Love this video!
0:18 "Hope it's one of those hot teachers that works there" "Uhh no, its a 12YO female." "Well, maybe shes got a hot mom..."
Good competent driving
Your the best!!!!!! Love your vids!!!!
It's not 51 but since UA-cam has blocked all the emergency eps it's the best there is.
awesome video !!!
Thanks for answering my 1 year question
That's a very good looking engine.
4:03 kleiner dicker Junge mit Stoppschild!!! :D
The driver really knows how to find the gas pedal. Very nice driving.
Keep in your pants boy, easy now.
wow that was a quick roll out
Wow, check out that vintage MDT!
nice video
Most fire departments and police departments will let civilians "ride along" with them for a day or a shift. You just spend time with the crew or officer and respond to the calls like its a normal day. You dont assist them in anyway you just ride along.
LAFD is awesome!
@eddiemaniaco yes because if the bls paramedics(basic life support) are unable to perform every engine has a als paramedic(advanced life support) to perform the job
That Q sounds like it's on automatic hahaha
LAFD operates ONLY in the CITY of Los Angeles. This is NOT Los Angeles, it's the city of Santa Clarita. LACoFD operates in unincorporated areas of LA County and cities without their own fire departments like West Hollywood, Santa Clarita, Carson etc.. LAFD and LACoFD are two completely different agencies.
Can you guys hear the siren through the head phones at all
Tyler KEMP yes you definitely can
Very nice. Can I just ask, how do you manage to get in the fire stations and ride along to a call?
Geil einfach mitgefahren :)
0:18 reminds me something I would hear in Rescue Me.
love the Fed Q
They do in LA County.
Santa Clarita!
yes it is.
Is E73 it a three or four man engine? LACoFD runs both.
Have a question? Is the ride that bouncy?
Was that a tanker facing the rear bay door?
Opening those doors are heavy..
2 crossing guards at one spot?hmm
so was the mom hot?
Thx, aber gibts nicht aich EMS? Emergency Medical servies oder so was?
What happenned at the school?
In the US do you just go in and ask to go on a ride-a-long ?
Hi dirk come out to Ventura county we will give you a ride.
no problem
How? You do realize many (especially career) firefighters are trained EMS/Paramedics?
i was thinking about that too lol
Seems to me traffic clears faster when you drive at them head on :-). No ambiguity as to what’s coming at them.
ja, dann ist ja alles klar.
not all of them
Do all medical calls require a firetruck to be present?
It depends is the best answer
Hes known to them.
EMS = Emergency Medical Services = übersetzt Rettungsdienst
*Find ich gut*
This is a great idea. But I suppose Fire Chiefs choose the place where you can ride along so that you not risk your life. Is not it?
Du kommst doch aus Deutschland oder nicht ???
That's how you use a Q!!!!
Dirk kommt aus Deutschland, ja.
Heißt EMT, Emergency medical technician
No it's not.. It's laCOUNTYfd
Still is LAFD.
There is a huge difference between the Los Angeles County FD and the LAFD.
All that drive on Code 3 with an engine company and paramedic squad just to have been beaten to the scene by AMR!
Dirk, do you know if there was any hot mother or teacher? :D
three
oh AMR..what a joke
1 thing LAcoFD needs is new bunker gear...
lol
this isnt lafd
Damn...beat by AMR
Is this a structure call.. NO, it's a MEDICAL call. My comment was based on the medical call viewed here, did you watch the video ? Or do you just read the comments and make up your own notions on what the video is about ? Three units to a medical call is waste of resources. Again, I work for the ambulance service in the UK as part of a rapid response (by my self) one unit is sufficient unless back up is required. Structure fires we respond the same way all near by stations are alerted.
Jesus saves
Complete waist of resources !
