For FWD drags, either try a DR like Nitto or similar, otherwise just get whatever summer tire you want and roll into the gas. Difficult to cut sub-2.0sec sixty-foots without drag-specific tires (possible, but takes lots of practice/abuse). If you go for a drag pack, Montana 15x6's or older Bonnie 16x8's are good JY finds.
@@dezldave961 you could go bigger front brakes just would need to look at either bigger size weld wheels or a lightweight mustang wheel to work based on the brake size you upgrade to. Also Gxp rear brakes need at least a 16inch or bigger wheels to clear.

I finally pulled off my lowering springs and Koni adjustables. I installed the ZZP coil over early this summer. I wanted to let you know what a vast improvement that was. Also I picked up seats from an 06 GXP and the difference is awesome compared to the crappy 98 seats. For tires, I run Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 4s 245/45/18. I am embarrassed to say that I waited 25 years to put a good set of tires on this thing. I love the way they grip and handle and highly recommend them. I have before and after pics if needed. Glad to hear your E85 is tuned and working well. I run E50 in both my truck and GP. I will be upgrading injectors this spring to be able to run E85. Keep up the content my man.
My GTP is already put away for the winter. I like the way yours sounds. Mine is stock exhaust with dual magnaflows, zzp 3.4 pulley with supporting mods and tune. I'm still running on 93, but I want to switch it over to 85.
I have had a 1999 Grand Prix GT since 04 and Iove it. 255,000 miles. Still runs great. Is it possible to remove that dumb hard plastic divider that sits behind the center armrest/cupholder in the back seat? I hate that second part that has the key lock on it. I want it to just be the leather armrest/cupholder and nothing else. I can't find any videos showing the back seat completely removed. Only the bottom part.
I can find those seats and passenger door molding up here from our junkyard. I will look to see what I can find for your car. Maybe not Red but we may get lucky. I run brand new OEM headlights from RockAuto by TYC with Hikari 2023 bulbs. Amazing at night and early mornings. Plus I run aftermarket halo foglights to help too. That would be perfect for you since you’re in the country like I am. Definitely bring the chest microphone back lol You know 3800s don’t break, only the vehicles do. lol
I'm glad the E85 conversion is working well for you and your car! I can't say I'll be changing my cars over but that's because no fuel stations in my area have E85..and to be honest, 87/91 is what I prefer to run for ease of "fuel all the running cars" part of pay day lol. On the cooling aspect of the 97-03 cars I have to agree with you in terms of their excellent cooling system in all manner of weather. Never had an issue even when using Dexcool. But as soon as I got my 07 there was temp trouble. I'll save the long story by saying there is a brand new cooling system minus the heater core and it has been converted to green coolant. It has been running as if it has the ZZP thick radiator, maybe reaching 180. That alone has soured my love of the 04-08 cars but the drive wonderfully. As for tires? That's the main thing holding me back from really modding at the moment, to get rims and tires suited for the power I want will cost two pretty pennies and I'll have to travel to a different shop to have them put on. Not to mention a full size spare! Keep up the good work! Love to hear the cars running!
@@glenhalstead2301 I have no maintenance history for this car other than an older lady owned it. If you do go with the newer gen seats (7th) I’ve got a full guide on it coming soon and I also have the seatbelt guide for the new seats as well. I’ve got a set of gxp seats that I’m getting in my car now and I was able to 3D print the guides and would be willing to make a few for anyone that would want a set!
