Kahungunu Kia Eke, five years on, where to from here?

30 years ago, there was grave concerns about the survival of Ngāti Kahungunu's use of te reo Māori.
The iwi then came up with a Māori language strategy, setting an ambitious goal to have all their tribal members fluent in te reo Māori by 2027. Te Okiwa McLean was with Ngāti Kahungunu members and filed this report from their latest language symposium.
