I was one of the initial testers for this product, and it is INCREDIBLE! I have black countertops, and as much as I love baking, I hate the clean-up after using the “leading brand of standmixer.” Even using the leading brand’s lowest speed and the shield, flour was everywhere. No mess with the Ovation! And no clumsy chute on the shield for adding ingredients-just pour them right where they belong, into the middle of the bowl via the funnel in the pour-thru top. When it’s time for clean-up, remove the funnel and rinse it. I didn’t need to scrape the sides during mixing with the Ovation-although I do when using the leading brand of standmixer-but even if I had to, the shield goes right along with the top when you lift it. No need to remove a shield to get a spatula in there. Moving the Ovation around on the countertop is so easy because it has wheels in the back-just lift the front slightly and pull, and when you set it down, the rubber feet in the front keep it firmly in place. And for those of you who are thinking that you can’t buy the Ovation because you have already invested in the pasta maker, meat grinder, food processor, etc., for the leading brand, you are in luck. The Ovation was designed to work with the attachments you already have, so you don’t need to re-invest in similar attachments from Kenmore. I am hoping that Sears introduces more colors soon, because that is the only thing that is keeping me from ordering one today. How about stainless, white, or another color more neutral than burgundy, Sears? (BTW, Sears DID NOT compensate me for my review-I just LOVE this mixer and I want you to love it too!!)

This review seems awfully concerned about the "leading mixer," which is a proven high quality time-tested mixing machine. There is a reason there hasn't been a design change and why it remains #1. ...This mixer's pouring hole seems potentially unsanitary after a few uses with a potential to get dirty and grimey. I don't know how that is easier to clean than a traditional mixer. Plus you're having to clean the mixing attachment, bowl, and the lid in addition. The "funnel" is simply a washable insert to prevent build up forming in the pouring hole; another thing to clean. I can just picture flour or eggs all over the top of the machine. And at 500W to power, no thanks. I don't need a LED light to see my ingredients.
I'll take cleaning the funnel of the Ovation any day over cleaning the countertops for three feet in either direction after using my leading mixer. And there is no extra work in wiping down the Ovation since I wipe down my leading mixer and wash its bowl and removable shield after each use. (Don't you?)
I don’t usually give a thumbs up to a commercial, but that pour-in top is kind of ingenious, in the why-didn’t-anyone-think-of-that-before kind of way.

OMG! Please can more please please have a national ad campaign advertising this and the other Kenmore Elite small appliances. Get people into the stores again. just last night a visiting relative saw and used my new Kenmore Elite Vacuum Cleaner and loved it. She made a comment that she didn't know that Sears still made vacuum cleaners. period most comments on my channel when doing the recipe or or unboxing revolve around asking me where I got that toaster oven, stand mixer, food processor, Etc
I wish that Sears would create a mixer that can mix (and not just look beautiful on the counter). Sears stores look so dead. Would be nice if they made good products. Would be nice if they offered good financing terms like so many other stores do. It's just sad going into their stores.

There needs to be some kind of silicone edged blade (flat beater) that scraped the sides of bowl during mixing. I hope is will have a slight spiral shape that will "push" ingredients down as it "wipes" the bowl. To have to stop and scrape the bowl during mixing negates the other features. Are the beater and whisk more that half as wide as the mixing bowl? Availability of a replacement glass bowl?

Well, add $5 for the Burgundy one. If you pre-ordered it a while back, both were $349 on Amazon, but they recently raised the price.
But how do you scrape down the sides of the bowl??
You lift it up like a regular mixer, but it is much more efficient than other mixers in the market! The designers/engineers where on the mark!
Katy's Goodness is right. However, if you look closely at this, you'll see it spins around the outside of the bowl. There's a little groove in the bowl because it's not flat. The center is raised. That's why the whip, beater and hook are all smaller than most five quart mixers. Well, the paddle leaves a small layer of cookie dough because it can't reach that area. The whip can reach the bottom either because it's too short to whip 3 eggs. Barely does 5 eggs. But it's not that efficient. I'm thinking this ad must have done a dozen eggs. The cream they whipped likely used a quart since you need lots of air, and it barely reaches the bottom of the bowl. We used a pint, and were unsuccessful. It was whipped, but barely. Dough hook is a joke. So keep your spatula handy.
