Really useful video Ryan_. i'll make sure to use these settings, makes the shaders look 100x better. I really like the way you get right to the point, no messing about.
Your shaders’s settings are incredible. Now, I like to play on every servers and solo with it. This is so close to the vanilla ! I recommande to use light intensity set to 0.70; The world looks not too bright with this
I know this is an older video, but does anyone know if there is a way to get a similar result using either Complementary Reimagined or Complementary Unbound? The big setting that I can't find an equivalent for is the skybox brightness, which seems to be the huge downfall of, well, pretty much all shaders.
Clear, concise, and easy to follow for all brain sizes! Appreciate this so much! Maybe a video explaining some of the different terms and things? For example; what's "bloom" actually do lol! Loved it though, and I'll definitely be using this to play with my settings a bit

Would you ever consider doing something like this for other shader packs or is this really the only one you use? Loved the video, love the settings- thanks!
Thanks for this Ryan, very helpful. I have one question. Whenever I turn on complementary shaders, and whenever I hit any type of block, it seems to light up. Do you know how to turn this off? It is quite overwhelming, especially when breaking dirt, wood, etc..
amazing video man! i might give it a try! I have to set up another instance for the shaders and the rest of the mods, but I LOVE how complementary looks. I have a question though. Do you think this would run well on my gtx 1050 ti?
i have an issue where at a certain point like 20% up the sky just turns white i set all settings to defualt and then followed this tutorial and its still there but i have a good computer so i think it has to do with a certain setting also the nether portal texture thing legs my game from 300+fps down to 25 do you know howw to disable this thanks.
Is there a way to save all your shader settings? Like if I switch between shaders, could I save these presets to already be set? (I hope that makes sense)
Makes total sense! If you're using a Windows PC hit the windows key type %appdata% > enter > minecraft > shaderpacks > then find the config file attached to the shader pack and drag it into another instance. Only works on optifine as far as I'm aware. May run into issues if you're using fabric. Hope that helped!
Hey could someone help me ? I have a issue with this shader it is the custom sky wich has no lower part it works perfectly with other shaders ort without (i have sky off) if someone could find a setting that fix it thank you !
Hey! That's just my player in the background in third person mode. I use a fabric mod called "Sodium" which changes the way the interface looks. It adds transparent buttons + top and bottom borders to shader menus :)
ooohh i might try transfer to using iris then, the only thing that kept me have been no zoom button (but can get a mod for that) and no shader settings. not sure if i'd run in to any other issues with the mods i'm using but guess i'll notice. i want it mostly for the shaders toggle button because it takes like 1 minute to turn on shaders for me through optifine 😅 edit: i'm not sure i can use sodium tho since i am using fabric, but idk if i understood their info correctly. it mentioned problems with fabric api rendering but idk if that's the same as having the fabric api installed.
Sorry for the slow reply on this one. Hope you got it sorted. If you're still struggling though you can always go into the post process and turn up vibrance/saturation
you're welcome! a bit of info ive learned since making the tutorial is to go into your sky colour settings and bump the green and red sliders down. you'll get a much more vibrant blue sky :)
@@stobblesmc oh sweet I’ll have a play with that. I did just change some more of the water settings to make it more blue and vanilla too. I’ve always only used shaders for screen shots but your help here means it’s playable with them on without making me blind with the brightness haha
How the fuck do you have an option page for the shader?!! I’m serious I’ve been trying to config my shaders so I can run on my potato pc but I literally have no optionsmenu
yes, but some people like me want a moderate amount of the shaders look, and want to keep a certain vanilla kind to it, just with an enhanced feel to it. so i very much appreciate these videos that helps me accomplish that 😅

Been meaning to sort our shaders for a while, this video was perfect! Thank you S24Ryan!
No worries, cheers for stopping by!
I'm so glad this you've made this. I always struggle to find the right settings but I'm totally in love with this! Thanks!
Glad you've found it useful!
i think the shaders updated and the labels are not the same anymore. do you think you can update this video with the new labels?
Very nice easy video to follow! Will be using these settings!

Great, video. found it useful

How did you add Better foliage to Complementary Shaders?
Very, Very, Very good video!
Thank you a lot!
Thank you!!
Plus you needed to walk around and SHOW what the setting changes you made actually did more - the video just kind of ends ...

what is the option for the blocks to be 3d? Like RTX
