    It amazes me how those boat plaques can be in the water for all those years and still be in that condition

    Cool stuff. Love the Tonka car. My brother and I mowed yards and did chores to save enough allowance to buy them. Those were the days! Love to you all!❤❤😊

    Really love this week's video by The Thames with 3 very special guests❤ Nicola, Simon, and Aaron. Stunning boat plaques. Marie, your history lessons always have me glued to my tv. It is absolutely fascinating, even the old flat can opener, i kept my late mother's opener. Childhood memories. Thank you, everyone, for thus amazing video.

    When I met up with sonik and Raymond here a couple weeks ago, Raymond said that the old irons were used for sealing canning jars. Yes?wouldn’t have thought it was safe for home canning.

    I love that copper piece that Marie found with the stamped cartouche on it. I bit it'll look a treat once it's properly cleaned and shined.
    Happy Birthday to Kirsty!
    I like when Nicole White visits, but I don't fancy Si very much, too bad you didn't push him into the water.

    Many happies on your hatching day, Kirsty! What a fab day out you all had, so much fun to watch ! Now, what on earth is the thing with sash window weights in the Thames? Is it a secret thing builders do, are there societies of frustrated window hangers merrily tossing sash weights in bodies of water all over the UK? It's not like people are walking around with sash weights in their back pocket and think, "Oh, there's the Thames, I'll just skip this sash weight over for fun"

      Hi Marie, I have a few questions, hope you don’t mind. How did you all get into magnet fishing and filming it on UA-cam and how long? So glad you all did get into it. I used to fish for fish and loved it and eating it too. Been around the water a lot of my life. I never saw it or heard it before. How long haas people been doing it?
      I’m 68, but if I was younger I would check it out and try it. But I always look forward to your videos and Northsthans magnet fishing too. Sometimes I check out others too , I mostly only watch both of these.
      Take care dear, ❤️

    Hi all, Maria the last tins to use the flat key opener I believe it was either carnation milk or evaporated milk and you always put two holes in the tins opposite sides of the top then as you pour the product out the air could replace the liquid if you only did one hole the liquid would glue out as it stopped to allow the air to enter the tin. 😊😊😊😊

    News from across the pond . Recently a magnet fisher pulled a rifle , drivers license and credit cards from a Georgia creek. This new evidence will be added to a case that has not yet come to trial. Reminds me of the movie " Fried Green Tomatoes" A mother and baby fled her wife beating husband to live with friends . He came at night to take the baby back. The nanny protected the baby and he knocked her unconscious . An elderly frail man blocked him from getting into the car and he severely beat him. The nanny regained consciousness and with a mighty wallop hit him on the head from behind with a heavy cast iron frying pan killing him. His car was dumped in a river. He is declared missing and all is well. The water level drops exposing the car and an innocent person is now charged with the murder. The body was disposed of in an innovative way I have never heard before . And the murder trial has an interesting twist at the end.

      @PeakyDippers  11 днів тому

      Many thanks for your concern x
      Yes we are all strong swimmers but unfortunately there are 100s of magnet fishers world wide that don't wear life jackets, they restrict us throwing magnets and can be uncomfortable in the summer.
      We are very experienced and been doing this since 2018.
      These rivers are walkable for everyone and the same could be said for all pedestrians tbh xxx

    I thoroughly enjoy watching you find the items, but that is only half the possible story. Why not save up all those old hammers and tools and get an expert on to tell us what they are, and what they're worth. Why not save up all those old railway bits & pieces and get an expert on to tell us about them.
