Tore my acl and both meniscus august 10 2020, had surgery May 26 2021 after 9 and a half months of excruciating pain and absolutely no life other than working in a kitchen that only hurt it more. It’s august 18 2021 i made it a quarter into the video and started crying uncontrollably. I’m 24, I hope I can run again. I used to be so fast, so strong and capable. May Allah give me and all of you strength to overcome this battle . I don’t consider my rehab to be rehab, I consider it fighting for my life and fighting to be who I once was
Bro?I cant believe it that u are u hope u can run as fast as you once did I had surgery on april 25th of 2021 and guess what man I fucked it up last Sunday but Alhamdulliah I'm back at gym within a week I was doing jumps and then landing w balance my progress was pretty insane just days ago I raced on of my close friend I've always worked out and trained with as footballer and athlete and I was the same place as him I won the race but he complained about his slippers so..I take that I was literally same place as guy with no knee problem all good when i just had surgery 4 months and 2 weeks ago I have yet to do MRI and see what has happend I really hope that nothing bad has happend cause I can't afford 2nd surgery on my knee
Chill man youre taking it too seriously. You’ll get better. Look at all the NFL athletes that tore it and got back to their level of sport again, yes they are very muscular and healthy which helps but you can be too! I am currently in my recovery process
Salam bro I have also torn my meniscus and acl partially, doctor advised me to get a rehab and if the symptoms persist then you should go for surgery. Its been 5 weeks since my injury while playing football, right now i can walk on my injured leg but with a limp and some discomfort, i am a little bit scared on putting my injured leg first probably cause of neuro sensors but I hope i get well soon without surgery IA. Any advice?
For those who are still undecided to go for surgery, my advice is to go for it. I did the surgery back in 2010, 13 years have past, and i've been enjoying every moment of it being able to play football again. Yes, it's never 100% again, perhaps about 80ish %. Well, that's good enough for me.
Bro I suffered shoulder dislocation injury ....I m depressed as fk ,seeing every random injury vedio on UA-cam 😭.....I don't I will ever able to do gym and play volleyball
7 years since my acl surgery. My knee never fully recovered to were I was as an athlete. I still run and lift weights but every exercise activity has to be modified in order for me not to push my knee too hard. Remember to strengthen the muscles around the knee and incorporate rehabilitation exercises to assist in knee pain that could arise. Every now and then when I do decide to push my operated knee too hard it swells up and feels weak to were I need to take a 2-3 rest day and then I am good to resume my exercises. I am currently 24 but I do suspect I have developed some sort of arthritis in that knee as I have fluid buildup and can especially feel it when I bend the knee. Also take care of your knee in the cold as per my experience it will hurt or have a ringing feel to it and can even lock up to were you might need to sit down and slowly twist it around for it to have a pop feel to it. Hope this helps someone!
I have had surgery on 25th april this year 2021 and it's been 4 months and 4weeks last sunday at gym while doing jumps and balancing on just 1 leg(my right leg which had surgery) on 7th jump I pushed my self I know it and as result I landed badly on my knee and now I have fear I have torn reconstructed ACL again I met my surgeon he Xray seems fine and he did a test said nothing seemed wrong w ACL but prolly w meniscus and I have yet to do MRI and hopefully there is nothing surgical as I fear most cause I'm only 16 and i was a hard worker and chasing my dream to one day play football as professional :(...
I was going so well but I still doubted myself and I think this is why I got into this condition but it's been 1 week since and I'm already back at gym with full range of motion and swelling has gone less but I feel like my knee is moving too freely just as it was before surgery and I dont know when I'll be back at running
Tomorrow i have an acl surgery..... initially I don't know what they r going to do tmrw. ..but after seeing this video.....I am understanding the process......thank u for uploading this video......they r many patients don't know about their surgeries....I will prefer these videos to them......love u from India 😍🇮🇳
I had mine last year 2022. Normally from 0-3 months when you have the surgery you got to let the leg heal. From 3-6 start working more on your exercises and stretches. From 6 to 9 months you should be able to walk at least, bike and move around. However, you'll be struggling with a lot of weakness on your muscles because you lose all your muscle from the surgery. The hardest part in my case is getting to full knee extension.
i had acl surgery 4 months ago (18 weeks) and just got cleared to start jogging. i’m recovering beautifully but this definitely takes a toll on your mental health. You have to stay safe until the 8-12 month mark your acl is still healing even though you feel fine at 4 months. the muscle in your legs is a huge loss especially in the leg that was operated hardest part is committing to the rehab doing exercises 2-3 times a week at least
Im 9 days post op. Went awesome. Very thankful its an option! Have been in hardly any pain. I can make pain if i do certain things but if i am responsible and rest correctly its fine, no meds needed. Had a few neurofin just on odd days to help some swelling and sleep i guess. I crutched out of the hospital but have walked without crutches ever since. Can bend 120 atm and nearly going straight. Went for a cheeky bike ride today. Felt awesome to be out and about as i did spend 6 weeks in a ROM brace to heal the mcl first haha. Am able to go out for dinner and have my social life. But life goes on. Face it head on i say. I really struggled mentally when i did the injury initially, because i was playing sport and running multiple times a week then all of a sudden - nothing. But i learnt to not play the victim. And to stay positive. Thank God its a treatable injury. Alot worse can happen to ya! I got lots of prayer also and stayed in my bible. People will say that means nothing but my testimony is what it is. And i have to mention all of what i did to be fair. There are plenty of good testimonies out there! just had mine today, pain is crazy, and I’m pretty good at handling pain. and the other thing is that the anesthesia in the area hasn’t completely gone away yet so the pain is gonna get worse
Aa 23 my bad, I should’ve replied earlier. Make sure your legs are strong, you’ll lose muscle mass with all the inactivity after surgery and that probably is something that’s frustrating to me right now. Right now I am about 12 weeks since surgery, and I am walking strong, but here and there I limp. The pain is practically gone, I just get discomfort on the incisions where they did the surgery.
Aa 23 Therapy will be tough in the first month and a half because they’re going to be pushing your leg to get your range of motion back. So like basically flexion and extension. The first month or so, you’ll be in a brace where they are extra careful with how you’re able to more your leg. And during this time, they’re working to get your knee to bend. I’ll be honest, this was the worst. Your leg since it hasn’t bent in a month, the therapist pushing it in is the worst pain i’ve felt. Only recently now I can bend my leg in all the way, but there’s still resistance. Stretching and doing the exercises at home is very important as well. That’s my 2 month update for anyone who’s gonna have the surgery ^👍🏾

Hi, I had an ACL recon surgery a week ago using quad tendon graft. My surgeon didn't remove the torn ACL while reconstruction. Anyone knows the rationale behind that?
How bad does an injury like this need to be to have surgery. Mine was gout induced, but I can walk normally now and use a push-bike to get around. There is aching only first thing in the morning.
Unfortunately I know that messed up feeling, I was hit by a pick up truck on January 11, 2022...no bone was broken in my left leg, but my ACL / pcl and meniscus were ripped apart basically.. now my right leg...got it the worst...had a couple of open fractures..2 rods and 13 screws...but I feel no pain in my right knee..I just feel a very uncomfortable pain in my left knee.. only a little discomfort in my right leg.. which is where the rods are down in my right leg...I would think there would be more pain and discomfort in my right leg..go figure...but I can say i can walk...but I cant run..or jog... and I'm not paralyzed
Hi, my son tore his ACL while playing football, he is 15 yrs old, we were leaning towards reconstruction using quadriceps tendon graft but doctors are biased towards hamstring as they have expertise into it. Will you be able to advise on which graft would be best for him? Another concern we have is growth spurt can cause misaligned legs. Looking forward for your inputs on these two concerns we have. Thanks

Hey bro, what did you do? I was exactly like you torn my Acl and got miniscus tear like a year ago and had no idea it was torn, I found out one month ago that it was torn. Idk what to do. Did you go for surgery?
I went through an ACL surgery on 30th June 2018. For which i was doing exercises till today. But my leg was not getting the strength which was expected. Compared to the other leg my operated leg is very thin. On 19th October 2018, i again met with a small accident and i had a pain in the same knee which was operated. Swelling was there as well. I went to the doctor again and told him the whole story. He asked me for MRI. I went through MRI & the reports said that i have teared the reconstructed ligament again. Now doctor is saying that i have to undergo for surgery again. This is very disturbing and painful for me. But i have a doubt regarding my injury this time. Because last time when i teared my ligament (as per doctor) it was very painful and i wasn’t able to walk properly. But this time i am able to walk at a slow speed. I am doing my regular exercises as well. Then how it is possible with a complete tear. ??? Please help me out in this situation.
You should get a second opinion from another doctor just to be sure that your first doctor didn't mess something up. Also go through all your exercises with a rehab specialist to be sure that you're doing them right.
Same thing happened to me 2 years ago and now I still have a lot of pain and sometimes when it get hurts I can't bend and straight my knee and I can't walk properly
I had same problem. Actually the first ACL torn it was from our birth time and it is coordinated with surrounding supported tissues. Having connecting tissue from birth and so when its torn that bring damage to foundation one. Thats why we had pain. Reconstruction one is not like the original one, its not get COORDINATE with the surrounding connecting tissues, so when reconstruction one torns it will not affect the surrounding tissues and we not consider that same pain.
Mahipal Shera I had a need reconstruction about 11 months ago and I also tore my miniscus as well and I have recovered well I still get a bit of a sore knee some times but my strength is back to the same as my other knee and I’m running around again if you ask me it is all to do with your rehab if you do all your rehab correctly you should head as good as gold .. how are you now?

Mine personally was made with my hamstrings but sorest is right, any of those can be made into an ACL graft. My doctor also explained to me that some people just don’t have good ligaments to use for the ACL surgery so they can make it from a cadaver and then insert that into your body

Hi, I had an ACL recon surgery a week ago using quad tendon graft. My surgeon didn't remove the torn ACL while reconstruction. Anyone knows the rationale behind that?
I think I went into shock watching this. I tore my acl a month ago and in a few weeks I will be getting surgery. It scares me.
Same...
Had my ACL surgery 2 weeks ago
@@dawoodqureshi2023 how are you doing
How did it go
I will be too before too long hopefully
man i am scared, the idea of taking this surgery troubles me already, but seeing this vid.. i am going to have nightmares
I have right shoulder dislocation,what i do?
Does a new ACL that they put in is it even as stable as the one you had before if popped?
This is my second time tearing my acl and meniscus from competitive gymnastics. I get surgery on the 29th
my acl injury and Very very pain the injury 😢
I’m an mma fighter and tore my meniscus and ACL will I ever be able to compete after surgery???
How much time will take to recovery in this surgery

Hi, my son tore his ACL while playing football, he is 15 yrs old, we were leaning towards reconstruction using quadriceps tendon graft but doctors are biased towards hamstring as they have expertise into it. Will you be able to advise on which graft would be best for him? Another concern we have is growth spurt can cause misaligned legs. Looking forward for your inputs on these two concerns we have. Thanks
Hello sugu vai. Thank you for your comment. We are not able to provide medical advice online. You can talk to a pediatric nurse by calling our free ParentSmart Healthline at (720) 777-0123, or contact your doctor.
Every one is different but I had a hamstring graft 11 months ago and I have had not issues or problems with my acl if back to full strength and I am playing footy again

I would like to ask you some questions about it.
It never heals still get injured sometimes if I’m too tough
I have this ACL injury for 8 years already.. no surgery. No rehab. Is it still possible to fix this knee of mine?
What did you do bro? Update please, i have it for almost two years now
Tore my ACL 9 weeks ago skateboarding, still have been skating the last 7 weeks, had no idea it was torn, I have no pain or weakness what so ever. I found out 8-22 that it was torn, and getting surgery i suppose.
Hey bro, what did you do? I was exactly like you torn my Acl and got miniscus tear like a year ago and had no idea it was torn, I found out one month ago that it was torn. Idk what to do. Did you go for surgery?
It teakes 9 to 12 muonths to recover
Even after surgery??
My ACL ,MCL ,LCLtear last August 2023 still didn't get surgery what happend
Bruh, my ACL got teared but I am can walk comfortable, slow running comfortably.
What should I do?
How are you doing now?
Do i have to Operate acl for quick or can i operate late....coz i dont have pain ...but my leg twisting sometime often....soo plz answer this question?
My ACL is fully torn but my knee feels super stable and hasn’t given out on me once in my time walking on it. Can this be explained?
Your ACL tissue may have been trapped in between your MCL and the femur causing a false sensation of stability.
Normally walking with acl tear is possible, the sensation of slipping away or non stability comes when you are running and pushing your limits,
You have strong quad muscles and your body have adapted to it. Also you must be below 75kg and must be athletic since childhood.
I have torn ACL since 6 years yet I am able to do all activities albeit the first 18 months during rehab phase.
Getting my surgery in June!!! Hope it goes well! Any suggestions?
Everything good? How's recovery?

What is the graft made of, I mean is it artificial or created with the same persons' tissue? Please assist :(
It's from the person's tissue. Kneecap, Hamstring or quads I believe? For me they used back of my hamstrings.
Mine personally was made with my hamstrings but sorest is right, any of those can be made into an ACL graft. My doctor also explained to me that some people just don’t have good ligaments to use for the ACL surgery so they can make it from a cadaver and then insert that into your body
It's like Frankenstein!! Experiment
Tore both of my acls l, my first one in my right knee in 2016, the second one in my left this year 2019
Hope you have done your surgeries and recovering now. God bless you!
How's your surgery?? Is this comfortable?? Any problem or consequences after surgery??? Dr told me to do acl surgery. Is this ok to operate knee at the age of 26.. Plz, tell me.. Recommend me.
