Have a 22 year old example of it's popular civilian counterpart as a beater, the Grand Marquis - self-levelling air suspension and auto climate in a 90's car is wild. All still works, too. Rides better than my (much) later model luxury car.
Crown Vics, Gran Marquis, and Town Cars are such durable, incredible cars. In NYC, the cops would drive Crown Vics for 100,000 mi. At that point, they'd sell most of them to the NYC taxi companies, who'd drive them until 400,000 mi. At that point, they were mostly sent to Boston taxi companies, who'd drive them until 1.2 million miles. Incredible.
I drive a panther platform car. The reliability cannot be stressed enough. The parts are incredibly affordable and easily obtainable. Working on them is easy enough for even novices with little experience. The 4.6L V8 is one of the greatest products Ford made. It's not the most powerful V8, but it is incredibly reliable. With standard maintenance, 450-500K is easy to reach.
The Chevy 9C1 Caprice with 350 V8 was the much preferred cop car over the Crown Victoria in the 90’s. It wasn’t until the Caprice left production, and the Ford underwent a 1998 refresh that the Crown Victoria became a really good police car and built the following it has today. Back when the 9C1 Caprice ended, nobody wanted to give those up for a Crown Vic, now they don’t want to give up the Crown Vic!
I've got a silver Crown Vic interceptor. I love driving it. I don't beat it up, but I can drive it like I mean it, and not worry about bending the suspension. Nice Southern, rust free car. No outside lights or cage were installed. It does still have the shotgun straps under the trunk lid.
Check your rockers, mine was a southern car and because of a Ford design/manufacturing error the pinch welds on the rockers let road grime in which can't get out easily. My Vic had the rocker rust out from that
Not in every NFS game has the Crown Vic in it, in NFS high stakes, there is the 90's Chevy Caprice Classic, Interceptor SUV, Chevy Camaro, BMW M5. ( No Crown Vic though ).
Lots of memories in that car (from the front seat ha!) 100’s of thousands of miles, incredible moments, scary moments, tragic moments, and it’s the car that defined a career.
I owned one of these for about 7 years and I loved every minute of it. Great on the highway, impossible to kill, never got a speeding or parking ticket, cheap to fix, and the tail slid around EVERYWHERE. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.
I used to have one during my master study in Indiana. It was a very rare maroon color one that used to belong to a sheriff. It has beige interior, a CD player, and a one-press-down window on the driver's door. Really sweet memory. I even used the spot light once in a very dark place in the night, it was so bright and focused. I can see any room clearly as I point it to.
I remember when this model debuted. The first time I saw one was on the TV Show, "Dawson's Creek". Pacy's older brother, a town deputy, drove it. in some scenes. The molded headlights and sleek body made it look really modern. Lord I'm so old!
I got an old cop car and mines full of dents and scratches from cops throwing peoples wallets and belongings oh and sometime the unruley purps on the hood and trunk area😂
Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Merquis, Marauder, Lincoln Town Car, P72, P71, Taxi car, Detective car. Did I forget anything? The greatest car ever.
Such a beautiful car. The exhaust note in these are just right. Just enough noise. Honestly sounds better than the Hemi Charger pursuit. Have a 12 charger and 11 Vic. Stock vs stock the Vic. Sounds better.

My dad had a '98 Lincoln Town Car, then a year later bought an '04 Cadillac Deville... I LOVED the Lincoln overall. Did like the A/C seats and sound system in the Caddy.
It also has a high output alternator to accommodate the high current draw from the lightbar and extra accessories, which is why you see so many kids with huge stereo systems in these. You need a high output alternator to power bigger subs and this comes with a free $800 alternator upgrade.
I have a 2010 CVPI/P7B and it is a blast to drive. Comfortable, very reliable, and being an ex undercover car people tend to move out of the way or slow down when they see it coming. Performance wise it doesn't touch my Mercedes-AMG, but those 4.6 2V last damn near forever while keeping the parts spend low. Not saying my Mercedes-AMG isn't reliable as it has been, but I have a unique love for the P7B and the Mercedes-AMG.
What a fun video of a classic cop car. With James finally removed from the back seat on some desolate hilltop, I thought, oh no, this is going to be a scene from Breaking Bad, isn't it? Glad he lived... Cheers from Charlotte, NC

Which is the best year Crown Victoria Police Interceptor.?
@@bohemialite6371 I'd say a 2006+
Just bought myself this behemoth of a land yacht about month ago & I’ve driven it daily since the moment I got it. Truly a true real American car, not the fastest but isn’t the slowest either. People still give the car respect when they see it
The shawshank reference was excellent
"American justice..."
"is that a good thing?"
*Zing*
Badoom tssss
10:52 🤣🤣
Nowadays, that's an oxymoron.
:(
Well except the joke, what he said is very accurate. Even without the decals and lights if you see one of these, then you know the boys in blue are here!
andrew kennedy that part killed me 😂😂
What's better than driving one once? Owning one, it never gets old. Love every day of it.
This is the first video I watch of this channel. I see it as a smaller version of top gear. I like dis
Thanks for using our car and for putting a link in your description to us . Another fantastic video! Always entertaining and every video is so incredibly enjoyable. We promise to take care of anybody who sees this and needs a police car for their videos with a discount.
Have a 22 year old example of it's popular civilian counterpart as a beater, the Grand Marquis - self-levelling air suspension and auto climate in a 90's car is wild. All still works, too. Rides better than my (much) later model luxury car.
It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas
Fix the cigarette lighter!
Car's got a lot of pickup.
I enjoy your video,camera angles long shot,clarity,californian announcement,your conversation, fun,mostly victoria
Loved the Shawshank Redemption reference James! 😂
I love how these intros are so silly that Thomas can barely keep it together until the end of the sketch ❤️ never change throttle house
AAAAAAAA Why these videos are becoming so good?
Top Gear needs you!
My only issue with the Caprice is people tend to remember them being quicker than they really was.
These are the best American Cars ever.
I have a 2010 CVPI with only 70,000 miles. 3.55 LSD, heavy duty everything...I love it.
As soon as the pop up with „throttle house posted a new video“ appears on my screen my heart opens up 😍 greetings from germany keep going boys 🔥
0:05 James pushing his own head, like police does when putting you into backseat. Gold.
God you guys are amazing! Not too much acting, very honest and funny reviews. I love you both but honestly Throttle house >>>> Straight pipes
My Vic had the rocker rust out from that
James' hood slide is a shining beacon of hilarity in these dark times.
That's so strange, these are the fastest cars in every Need For Speed game.
Not in every NFS game has the Crown Vic in it, in NFS high stakes, there is the 90's Chevy Caprice Classic, Interceptor SUV, Chevy Camaro, BMW M5. ( No Crown Vic though ).
NFS Payback has the CVPI, and NFS World had the CVPI.
You can't outrun Motorola!
High stakes did have the crown Vic in it. It was what the police force used on hometown and country woods, in the PC version.
7:24 Missed opportunity for clever prison joke.
Indeed
Lots of memories in that car (from the front seat ha!) 100’s of thousands of miles, incredible moments, scary moments, tragic moments, and it’s the car that defined a career.
I patrolled in one of these for 8 years. It was indeed a beast of a car. Good memories.
🫡🔥💪🏼
I owned one of these for about 7 years and I loved every minute of it. Great on the highway, impossible to kill, never got a speeding or parking ticket, cheap to fix, and the tail slid around EVERYWHERE. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.
Thank you guy for bringing some "sanity" in these strange times, you rock!!!
I bought my 08 p71 a year ago and I absolutely love that car :)
This is the best automotive review channel on UA-cam. Editing is unreal and professionally done. Thomas and James are very entertaining. Love it.
The intro 😂 James pushed his own head like a cop pushed him in lmao I love you guys
0:20 plus 10 seconds... realize they just locked themselves in the back of a cop car.
Camera man?
@@nas1m Must be sad to be humorless in these times.
SueBobChicVid LOL
*ooooaawwwhhhh*
I used to have one during my master study in Indiana. It was a very rare maroon color one that used to belong to a sheriff. It has beige interior, a CD player, and a one-press-down window on the driver's door. Really sweet memory. I even used the spot light once in a very dark place in the night, it was so bright and focused. I can see any room clearly as I point it to.
That cast intro was absolute perfection!
I remember when this model debuted. The first time I saw one was on the TV Show, "Dawson's Creek". Pacy's older brother, a town deputy, drove it. in some scenes. The molded headlights and sleek body made it look really modern.
Lord I'm so old!
I wasn’t alive then😂
Now that car will forever have an ass-shaped dent in the hood.
It's a movie cop car - it already has hundreds of ass-shaped dents in the hood.
How have I not seen this yet? A rare treat!
The BEST car ever made! ♡
That was a really good intro. The little bit right after the intro made me feel like I was watching an old police movie.
That was fun. Thanks for keeping up with the many cool videos you make. Brightened my quarantined morning.
I own a 1995 Crown Victoria Now it’s not a interceptor but I love it and it gets the job.
You guys totally should do a used cars reviews sometimes. I'll watch it without a doubt.
I loved my Crown Vic! It was a '92 LX, midnight blue with matching leather seats. Wish I still had it.
07:15
You can see a dent in the hood from him Sliding across lmao
Seriously, I am just watching all your videos because of your amazing storytelling. I am now a big fan of your channel and going to buy a CLS 53 after your great review! (LOL that intro was so funny too)
10/10 would recommend buying one as a daily.
James, you saw Fiesta and BMW police cars growing up, for me, they were Austin Metros and Rover 3500.
Aghh crap now I'm showing my age =D
This video made me go from considering a Crown Vic as my first car to NEEDING a Crown Vic as my first car.
You'll regret it.
wantsanewvehicle No you won’t, fun ass cars
Alby you won’t regret it, I bought my CVPI and I love it, just buy from auction or if you buy from Craigslist you gotta check the car out really well.
Did you get one yet? They are really reliable and fun cars.
My dad had a '98 Lincoln Town Car, then a year later bought an '04 Cadillac Deville...
I LOVED the Lincoln overall. Did like the A/C seats and sound system in the Caddy.
The hood slide was nearly really good
Also the cop cars in my area in England are usually big volvos then some BMW’s and the occasional Subaru’s
Vauxhall Astra Diesel?
My childhood prepared me to jump at 2:30 😂
Well this was fun 😂😂😂 in a horrible time we needed this one!
It also has a high output alternator to accommodate the high current draw from the lightbar and extra accessories, which is why you see so many kids with huge stereo systems in these. You need a high output alternator to power bigger subs and this comes with a free $800 alternator upgrade.
What an awesome episode! That 80s intro was glorious!
I swear you guys make the best car review videos!! This was great!!
2:22 that slap never gets old 😁
I have a 2010 CVPI/P7B and it is a blast to drive.
That was hilarious, thank you for brighten up my day guys.
What a fun video of a classic cop car. With James finally removed from the back seat on some desolate hilltop, I thought, oh no, this is going to be a scene from Breaking Bad, isn't it? Glad he lived... Cheers from Charlotte, NC
Blue radiator hoses have always been the most modest flex on these P71's.
CandE.Adventures a flex is a flex lol!
Why do these police interceptors have a blue hose?
I saw a blacked out one used in the police force. Look so beautiful.
I have a 2011 police interceptor i love it :)
I have one as well, I fuckin hate it. Have not driven it in almost a year and in the last 5 that I have owned it I've only put ~8k miles on it. Piece of shit.
@@wantsanewvehicle Your name says it all! 😂😂
I hate people who buy used interceptors. Tiny minded individuals who use visuals to intimidate others. Unless you're cleetus
@@calderondennis or they are cheap reliable and a fun car to drive that has better handling then a civilian version.
Throttle House is the perfect A-team to hunt down and arrest the all-mighty villain, Covid-19.
7:16 - He actually did pretty damn good until the very end.
Killer job on this one guys. Definitely funny to hear the Brit's opinion on the good ol' American cop car.
I appreciate your petition for cooled seats! These uniforms, belts, and vests are extremely uncomfortable. Lol. Also, hood slide was perfect, just gotta stick the landing next time.
I'm on my 3rd CVPI - I buy them, lift them, outfitted them with Mud Terrain tires, spray the vehicle in bedliner and install a roof rack and LED light bars...then sell them. They ARE like trucks, as they are body on frame with posi-traction ....
