Thanks for pointing this out. Many people unequivocally hate Kate, saying she was always selfish and never did anything for anyone, which blows my mind as it is categorically untrue. Lost is fundamentally a show with nuanced characters that have both good and bad in them. Did Kate make bad decisions? Absolutely. But people deliberately disregard all of the times throughout the series that she showed kidness and helped people, including her fellow survivors. A lot of the hatred of this character is rooted in surprisingly unnuanced takes.

Many people don't know their blood type, and as far as I remember we're not even sure Charlie asked her what her blood type is. Charlie claimed he asked the whole camp, but Kate was neither at the beach nor at the caves at the time, but in the jungle with Claire, so it's possible he didn't find her. By the time Charlie shows up with Jin, Jack is already taking care of the situation by giving his own blood and Kate is busy with the whole Claire-giving-birth crisis.
Besides, we know more blood wouldn't have saved Boone, as it wasn't the issue.
