One thing I don't know if you folks have mentioned is the Router speed for the profile bit can you mention what speed you are setting your router at please? Thanks.

We've mentioned it a few times but not enough I guess. We always run our routers at full speed when carving any kind of wood. The only exception is when we're using our router sled and surfacing bit.

What kind/size router do you use? I was also thinking about buying the base plate package. Will that base plate work with any brand?

We use palm routers for almost all of our carving. The DeWalt and Flex routers are definitely our favorites, but there's a lot of good choices out there. Our baseplates are made to fit each router, and if we don't have one pre drilled for the router you have then you can get a blank base and drill the holes yourself makeawoodsign.com/collections/acrylic-base-plates
