Deep Chested breeds with a pronounced difference between the chest and belly, like German Shepherds, benefit massively from raised feeders. It greatly reduces the risk of stomach-torsion. A very painful and deadly condition. If you're (very) lucky, detect it quickly and get to a vet in minutes, your furry friend may survive their 1st run-in with it; but, not the 2nd. It claimed our friend's Czech Wolf Dog last year. We mentioned raised feeding for years; but, they'd always fed at floor level and underestimated the risk. :(
Hey, Brother. L9ve the dog feeder, saw a similar one on the kreg site recently but I like the look of yours a bit more. I have a bat shit crazy Jack Russell, so I will make his a little shorter. I like the speaker idea Im all for it, but its also important to remember that t might not be the best idea to listen to the Grateful Dead through it. You need the absolute highest quality speakers you can het your hands on for that. But other than that, I'm all for it
Hey Bro, i havent been on as much as ive been playing alot of Gigs and we are busy with Christmas, Family, etc. I wanted to take a few minutes to watch an Episode and wish you and your Family a very Merry Christmas!
I love your ideas and have a tip for dog dish stands. There's actually a proper measurement to determine the height. With the dog standing measure from the floor to the top of their shoulder, then subtract 6" that's the height for that dod
High speed video beginning at 13:38 the DuhWalt sounds like a chipmunk. Jus sayin'. LoL! I think that only thing I would change about the dog bowl hold is that I would've put either a camphor or a round over where the bowls go in. But, still a great build. I hope you have a Merry Christmas, Brother.
?? You have a malfunction on your phone , the Duhwalt is slowed down not sped up 🤣 the only part I sped up was when I was mentioning the layout numbers on phone holder for the speaker holes 🤣
@@Bearded-Viking-WoodWorks Ok, if that's not sped up while you put the dog bowl holder together, then all I got to say is, "Bruh! I'm jealous of your finger speed on that trigger." 🤣🤣 I'm watching in my PC by the way. I don't use my phone much for watching videos. Only recording them. Love your videos. Always a blast and something to learn from.
@ Joey ! lol 😂 I’m talking about the part where i Said duhwalt , you said I sounded like a chipmunk , that part was slowed down. The only part I should’ve sounded like a chipmunk is where I gave the hole numbers for the speaker on phone holder
@@Bearded-Viking-WoodWorks Ah! I see the confusion in this conversation. LoL! I was talking about the DeWalt drill itself beginning at the 13:38 time stamp. If you click on the time you'll understand. Where you're screwing in the pocket screws, it sounds like a chipmunk.
Brother , ask yourself these questions here … what are you doing to sell them ?? Are you adding your own touch to them ?? Are you just posting and wishing yourself luck , it’s not that the items aren’t selling , it’s the fact that you aren’t selling the items . And that’s a fact (I know this from first hand experience) , how many times a day do you share your item or online shop on your social media sites ?? How many of your friends do you ask to share your items on social media ? Do you market your items ? Are you a squeeky wheel that needs greasing ??? Are you really putting in an effort to sell your items ? Are you using tags and keywords ? Are you taking the best photos and video staging your items ? Ask yourself these questions and it should all make sense .
6:29 somehow I knew it I knew you were your wife had something to do with animals in a larger capacity than just pets. It's the same thing in my house I've been in the industry since 1986 and my wife has been a practice manager for a vet clinic for 40 years. We can smell our own! Lol😂
Be careful with elevated bowls if you have a large deep chested dog, elevated food bowls can increase the risk of bloat. And let me tell you, bloat is the worst and scariest thing ever. Our king German shepherd had gotten bloat, not from elevated food bowls, but it was a 9k surgery and they had to remove some of his organs that lost blood flow to long. He ended up passing away 6 months later from a heart attack caused from the bloat before. He was only 6 years old and man did that sudden loss break our hearts. That loss was bigger than losing a human
Although rare , deep chested dogs already have a higher risk than any other dog of bloat . A dish raised more than half the dogs hieght is not the best idea as this may cause bloat , rare but yes this is true. Take caution as always , with the size of this one in the video the pup will be just fine I never build them higher than half the height of the dog 😃, , thank you for the feedback. So sorry for the loss 💔 😢 , I’ll never forget the first loss of our baby pup , it is heart shattering as a love from a dog is second to no other love. I dare even say in some cases a dogs love is more unconditional than a mothers love. ❤️
@@annwithoutane9432 yeah I know it , . A mother can take but so much . A dog will literally love you and want to please you no matter what , you’re that dogs whole world. Just talking about this makes this Viking emotional and I don’t get emotional hardly ever but i still remember that day so vividly when we lost our pup , that hurt hits different , 🥺
Two thoughts: @ 5:45 there's a shot inside the slot of the phone holder. That drill hole is kinda gnarly looking. For $20 - 30 the drill holes should be clean. And if you are going to say the wood block amplifies sound, then instead of (or in addition too) showing a humorous video of car audio vibrating a trunk, maybe show the sound difference in sound of the phone out and then in the holder.
This one is the one I have but they make less expensive ones too . www.amazon.com/Marking-woodworking-Graduated-Cutter-feature/dp/B07B8RX4NB/ref=asc_df_B07B8RX4NB?mcid=ccc7a0f83bc13de4bf78be128522a833&hvocijid=3831142613383935881-B07B8RX4NB-&hvexpln=73&tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=692875362841&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3831142613383935881&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9010526&hvtargid=pla-2281435180458&psc=1
I love your videos and how you show what to do to make beautiful woodworks but as a disabled veteran I can’t afford the high end tools to do them right. All my stuff comes out wonky.
They are ok for what you pay for them. Just read the manuals they come with and practice safety as always. The first chance you get to upgrade , do it. 👍🏼

For mass production like the feed bowls, you should make a round jig to use a flush bit router to eliminate all inconsistencies.

A few comments and observations:
First off - Love your videos. My wife turned me on to them and I really enjoy them.
I've been a professional furniture maker and crafter for the past 40 years, and professional pen turner for 30 years. What the customer doesn't realize is the initial setup costs for a GOOD woodworking shop. Granted I've been doing this for a long time, but good quality tools mean good quality results, as well as lower operating costs. And, good quality tools COST money. i.e. my table saw is a Grizzly 1023RLWX with a 5hp motor (~$3000), and I've probably plowed around $50k into other tools over the years. Long way of saying that the rule of thumb for pricing a craftshow product is take the cost of materials and multiply by 3. (With the current rate of inflation, you may have to boost it to 4x)
On the dog bowl holder, use a 5 degree bevel on the jig saw for cutting the holes, and a 1/4" round over bit on the hard edges of the wood for a more finished look. (Just my take)

I know he has fun editing these videos…love it…ADD A DAB OF GLUE!!!
It’s a blast 💥
I just wish some of my projects would sell online...
Gotta make em toooo now...😂
@@Jokester713 hell yeah 👍🏼
6:29 somehow I knew it I knew you were your wife had something to do with animals in a larger capacity than just pets. It's the same thing in my house I've been in the industry since 1986 and my wife has been a practice manager for a vet clinic for 40 years. We can smell our own! Lol😂
Hahaha 😂 yep ! 100% correct sir. Small world ain’t it . It’s Hard line of work for sure .
@@Bearded-Viking-WoodWorksthat last statement…… sad but true for some! A dogs love really is unconditional ❤
Sorry you weren’t entertained by the video , yes a couple of the holes got gnarly however it’s a demonstration video . Thanks for the feedback
Nice

I wish I could cut a STRAIGHT LINE WITH A CIRCULAR SAW OR EVEN A JIG SAW.
Practice practice practice 😊
OH MY GAAAAAAWWWWWD!!!
Do you have my house bugged. The wife just asked if I would make a dog bowl holder. Rock on bro
🤣 maybe … 🤔 j/k bro 😎
Never seen measuring tape air guitar before. Love it! 😂❤

Woof! Woof!

@@Bearded-Viking-WoodWorks - Translated - "I like it, I like it!" Thanks for the efforts
Great idea! My only question is whether some type of oil finish would be more water friendly than shellac.
Sure poly
My friend where did you get that wheel center maker instrument? I can't find it!
This one is the one I have but they make less expensive ones too .

Thank you so much brother!
Love these simple but awesome builds!! Keep up the awesomeness Capt Rock star!!
Haha thanks man ! You’re an absolute rock star 💫
I love your videos and how you show what to do to make beautiful woodworks but as a disabled veteran I can’t afford the high end tools to do them right. All my stuff comes out wonky.
Sorry man , I wish you the best brother , our veterans need more than what they get , it’s so ridiculous
@ appreciate it brother
3" hole saw work?
Yerp 👍🏼
Oh wait for the dog bowl ?? If you have the right size dog bowl it will work
Have you ever built a "Humidor" before?
I’ve built many
Bauer tools. Are these great, good, don't bother starter tools for beginners? Merry Christmas dude
They are ok for what you pay for them. Just read the manuals they come with and practice safety as always. The first chance you get to upgrade , do it. 👍🏼
Do you torch the very bottom of the feet?
Yep , and I’ll put some cushions on them to help with not scratching floor and holding it in place while the dog is eating 👍🏼
@@Bearded-Viking-WoodWorks Great idea on the cushion feet. Will give it a try for our dog.
