- We brought our three kids aged 9,7 and 5 to Air Terjun Jelawang in Stong State Park in Dabong Kelantan, Malaysia. It was a challenging, memorable, fun and also educational for them. Reputed to be the highest waterfall in Southeast Asia has many things to offer a traveler from an amazing sunrise view with carpet cloud to seemingly endless trails and waterfalls to explore.
It is also currently not yet overly touristy and much more natural than other destinations we have been. Only an overnight sleeper train journey away from the capital city of Kuala Lumpur, it is a great trip to conveniently escape the hustle of the big city.

Definitely a waterfall on my "To Visit List" .... Love seeing the images of kids at such a young age experiencing & interacting with nature. Such a rare refreshing sight indeed considering these days most parents only know how to take their kids to shopping malls & letting them sit in front of a phone/tablet screen all day 🤦♂️LOL... Great job guys 😊

It's actually very important for us to go to retain these places....because if we go money that we spend give the guides a means to make a living. Us developing a culture of hiking will also means that the government will be pressured by us to save more green places.

Tempat ni banyak pacat malam2, nice view dan pengalaman menarik. Tabik kpd anak2 kecil berani dan semangat naik gunung. Saya x tahu pula ada washing machine dkt sana.. best nya.. 😍😍

Haha my mum never put us much in nature cuz I was quite a tiny kid and she doesn’t like it much. I can’t swim or ride a bicycle 🫣
That is the one very common thing that parents tend to do when they presume their child is weaker...they shield the child more whereas they should have instead tried to make the child stronger by gradually exposure and subsequently making them stronger. Yes...parents do then to mould their kids like how they perceive the world too. Anyway...not too late to learn to swim or ride a bicycle!
coincidentally i was searching for things to do after taking the sleeper train. i wonder where do you stay at dabong area? i have 3 kids between 4-10

Dabong area is a small town...there are some eco resorts and some of the homes there offer homestay. We went straight up from the train and camped there. Our kid is 5,6,7. U do need to train abit before attempting tho
I am deeply impressed by the way you document your experience here, how fit must you be to climb all the way to the top and spend a night up there?
I would say that you only have to be decently fit.....but if you are not too fit you can start earlier in the day and take a slower hike. You can also hire porters to carry your load for you. RM180 per porter per 18-20kg load.thanks for watching our videoand hope u enjoyed it.
