In yr 2014 there were a group of climbers climbed another peaks of Mount Kinabalu, and while they're on Victoria Peak ( 21:31 ) they've found that's the peak is 5 meters higher than Low's peak, and that's still below the peak's spire (the highest point) which could be 15-20m above them
Congratulations to all. I know the feeling, been there 6 times in the past, before and after the quake in 2015. Previously there was also the Mesilau route but part of it was destroyed during the quake. Sabah Parks is fixing the trail and hopefully it could be open soon. Usually after a tiring descent, one should dip at Poring Hotsprings , which is about 20 m8nutes away from Kundasang , to ease the muscles, then relax by having tea or dinner at Sabah Tea Plantation. There are 2 other peaks closeby, which are Trusmadi and Tambuyukon and those two don't have a rest place like Laban Rata, they use hammock. Anyway, hope the hike leaves fond memories for all of you. Cheers!
