You do not put the burden of adult dynamics on a child.Just like it was easy for her to adapt to a new life in Kampala,it was easy for her to hear and adapt to whatever story her Mother's family fed her.Before the man settled down,he should have sorted out and finished all the business around the young girl. He was extended grace and forgiven by his girlfriend even after lying about having a child.He knew his culture better and was aware of the consequences.Due to all of this he bears no moral right to have disowned a young child and placed such a burden on her. In fact it's his responsibility to seek forgiveness from this child for causing all the drama. He is just blessed to have found a good wife that is working hard to repair the relationship.His guilt shouldn't have been turned into anger against the child and if he doesn't work it out,in future he won't have a healthy relationship with an adult daughter because she will have access to resources that will prove to her that she was a child and none of what happened was her fault because clearly she's already feeling the gap. The culture in that part of the country is clear,they don't joke about their traditions and yes he owed them.I know for a fact that he will behave the same way around his daughter's. we also cannot blame the biological mother judging from this story It looks like her life never improved much yet the boy went up to university etcetera and this could have caused all the bitterness later after watching him move on with his life without considering making good with the other family.What follows is putting their daughter under pressure. Always Make good,there is no 2 ways about that As for this wife,you are a blessing to that family and may God continue to guide you on the journey

I would like to submit.. The lady keeps saying the daughter needs to win her fathers trust.. I think this is such a huge burden on the girl.. She is a victim of circumstances.. While she has made bad choices.. It was purely manipulation from her real mom.. The dad needs to also see is role in this brokeness.. He brought a child into the world when he was just a child He isnt being fair blaming this child.. He needs to humble himself and become a dad.. He shouldnt wait for the girl.. If the step mom could.. The real father should even put in more effort He is the adult here and should step up

Same case with us, married but work upcountry hence in a long distance marriage. Advantage with me is I can rush back to Kampala then head back to work early morning the following day. Or I can be with my family on Saturday evening and return on Monday morning, it's challenging but we have to make ends meet.

I'm going through the same. Had to let go of my son because of a toxic mum. I got tired of taking her to police for refusing me to take care of my son and provide for him and yet I have far greater resources. Even the police couldn't help as the boy is below 3 years of age. In order to cop with life., I had to go into a state as though I don't have a child. Child battles can even lead to job firing. #okuzalukuka.
