In the book, Dash feels very guilty and thinks he must have missed, getting half the squadron killed. Near the end of the book, the main characters learn that the missile was in fact a Diamond Boron missile, an exotic, advanced and heavily armored type of missile, it wasn't Dash's fault, he never had a chance to stop it with the firepower the Outrider has.
A really awesome crossover. They even got Bob Bergen and John Cygan to reprise their roles as Luke and Dash which they had in the Windows-Port of "Shadows of the Empire". Bergen in my opinion does a fantastic job as Luke's voice as he sounds pretty close to Mark Hamill. You know what would be cool? A sort of machinima which cuts between this XWA mission and the Suprosa level from SotE-PC. I guess the Flight Officer and the Secret Order guy weren't quite accurate when they said a freighter was stolen when in fact it was a computer from a freighter. ;-) Addendum: Bob Bergen also voiced Luke in "Rogue Leader", "Rebel Strike" "Jedi Outcast", "Jedi Academy", "Galactic Battlegrounds" and "Battlefront II 2005". 🙂
I remember someone trying to do machinima like what you're talking about in a different context. Don't remember anything else about it. Actually even the name of the mission is wrong, as we're not capturing the Suprosa
He also made a good Porky Pig, especially in Duck Dodgers and The Looney Tunes Show. Oh, and he's No-Face in Spirited Away's English dub and Lama Su in Star Wars: The Clone Wars 2008 and The Bad Batch. The Imperials embellishing the details so to make their best pilot be riled does make perfect sense. Perhaps the Suprosa may have been captured too, had the data been extremely embedded in its programming. If he's Luke Skywalker, then Scott Lawrence's Darth Vader in those days.
I read it was a problem in the past, but with the latest version I didn't have such issues, not even with trying the mission a bunch of times for tomorrow's video
Ah, here we are at this memorable if not signature mission. Big nitpick here is that it's not like the SotE novel's, but then again, same goes for the SotE video game, which is implied to be Dash's embellishing of events. 0:16: Wishing them luck in the future, for the galaxy will keep on getting rough. (Hmm, I expected Aeron to be wearing clothes akin to Han Solo's though.) 0:51: Hanging, not sitting. - For once, at least this isn't spam. Still, no need. Sorry, TIE Fighter's Bothuwui, but this here is the proper name of the Bothan world. 4:28: Problematic later on. 4:45: Hello, Porky Pig. Also, the recurring voice for Luke Skywalker in the likes of the SotE video game's PC port (the N64 port only has panels), Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy, the Rogue Squadron games, and perhaps The Force Unleashed. Actually brought my personal copy of the SotE novel, and I must say, the hailing comms between Luke and the captain are at least 80 percent word for word in this game's. Case in point: "Listen, pal, I'm working under contract to XTS and my orders are to *deliver my cargo to the agent on* Bothawui." and "Captain, either you shut down your engines or we'll shut them down for you. *Some of my gunners can pick flies off a wall with their laser cannons."* 6:37: And hello too, Canderous Ordo and Solidus Snake. Oh, and the dialogue pertaining to the attempted interception of the diamond boron-tipped missile has the same parameters. However, 7:52 should have been said after the freighter was easily disabled via its engines. 10:07: Humorous. In the novel, two Y-Wings were taken out by the Suprosa's guns and only four were taken out by the missile. Plus, they didn't sound like male Bothan rookies. Ah, Stargate SG-1, a classic. Up until Season 8 ended, by which the Ori saga felt like an all too different show al of a sudden, and those painful cliffhangers had to lead to some rushed movies just so they can finish the storyline. 10:19-11:24: And so begins that one level from the aforementioned SotE video game. Must say, it's shorter here than it is there, and there was even a pesky defense walker showdown. I really wonder who exactly are the basis for the Bothans. Doubt it's the Soviets in my eyes. 12:16: Remember that hyperspace interdiction effect on TFTC? Hope that gets used for this. Oh, and stow it with the yellow brick roads, Rendar! Leebo, calm him down! Impressive, you succeeded on the first try. Will see you get more targets on tomorrow's completionist run. Yes, more Bothans will perish in the days to come, plus there'll be some cherry picking by one Fey'lya.
4:28: just a little. Probably would've made the mission too easy :P Those are nice details from the novel, thx for sharing. I'm still a BIG fan of the Stargate franchise and universe 12:16: It'll not be in tomorrow's video, forgot to add it at the time, but since then, the linked fix I did actually has it ;) Definitely more targets, don't worry
Great work Lp, awesome crossover with Shadows of the Empire. Bob Bergen always did great as Luke.

Such is the successful potential of the Expanded Universe of the past, now deemed Legends.
I thought the outrider was such an awesome craft in Shadows of the Empire. I used to play the last mission in that game for hours.
The skyhook battle was intense, especially on the top difficulty.
I actually never played Shadows of the Empire. I'll probably put it on my loooong list of games to play
Nintendo Hard, the game, but not as badly as Rebel Assault.
Also, in case one plays on the PC, the GOG port may be the more stable purchase.
@@LPhoenixI enjoyed it on launch, but it hasn't aged well.

Luke was so happy to blow up the Suprosa in my case. He forgot his X-Wing has no ion cannons...

Upgrade has done well, it seems.
