  • Tyler Kennedy is bringing his ex to court to get some help in regards to child support. Jennifer Kennedy is with a new partner and lives off of an allowance provided by said partner. Will the partner's income be considered hers, as well or is her allowance the only form of income to consider?

      Sounded like she didn't care about either of them for quite a while. When she talked about being there for his MIS degree and then "some masters program," it was pretty obvious that was around the time she checked out of the relationship. She had no clue what he got his masters in and didn't care or she would have been more invested in the relationship. I wonder if she used to work at the energy company her new husband is the CEO of.

He was fine at first.... but “ their child is getting older so the expenses is getting higher. He shouldn’t have to struggle to make more money... she should contribute. This matter is simple here. A mother giving birth does not exempt her from financial obligations.

      Some of these comments are seriously concerning. This is not a real case, these are not real parents, she is not a real judge. The parties are paid actors, Vonda is just a regular lawyer, and the premise of the hearing is only loosely based on a real-life case. The odds of a judge holding a woman accountable for child support, when they are a stay at home wife with no “reported” income, are incredibly slim. Even if an adult woman were to get an actual allowance, there is no possibility sh would willingly offer that information up to the court. Outside of her own family going against her to inform the dad, it would be very difficult for dad to prove she had any income.

    Wait, wait…you get an ALLOWANCE when you’re MARRIED? Hold up. No. I’m married and I’m the homemaker. I don’t get “an allowance”. We share the card and the account. The difference is that we both end up agreeing on whatever gets spent. He can’t go spending stuff without my input, and I can’t do it without his. It’s part of being in a mutual relationship. Most of the time, it’s “yeah, sure, no problem” but there are times when we’ve told each other “let’s hold off for a bit” and we’ve had to value the input of the other person.
    You aren’t a child, lady. You aren’t a pet. What is this? Get a job that pays for the child support, or tell your husband he’s required to pay it as part of your responsibilities as a mother. But I’m leaning more toward option 1.

    Listen here Ms Thang. It doesnt matter how much money he makes and what he spends it on. You still have to pay something for your child. Even if Dad has the child's day to day expenses covered, put the child support payment in a college fund, so she doesnt have to be bitter at her spouse for only giving her $500/wk or at her ex for not sending her to college.

However, what really struck me about this was how she tried everything she could not to have to support that child, to rival any `deadbeat dad` I've seen. • @jonedwards2107
    @jonedwards2107 Рік тому +15

    When I practiced law, child support was based on combining income of both parents, then taken from a graph designed by the state legislature. Then, the income is split based on percentage of the total that each parent makes. At that point, the total child support is split by the same percentage. The custodial parent is awarded support based on the percentage of support from the non-custodial parent. So, if the total support based on total income is $600, and the non-custodial parent makes 80% of the total income, he (or she) would bay 80% of that $600. If one parent is not employed, a minimum wage income is still attributed to that parent, and considered part of total income for calculating the support. Taxes are not taken into account. Total gross income. There is no such thing as spousal support in the state statutes.

    • @geraldineekhator5428
      @geraldineekhator5428 Рік тому

      Well with the children I obtained guardianship of they went by the gross income amount from the biological parents not me. I overtook a child support case from one of the fathers and it was based on his income alone. One of the three parents are done with paying me even though he got away with not paying the full amount. I’m just glad to be done dealing with this with him. The mother is almost done with paying and the other father has skipped out paying for years but he’s in prison. He’s been paying a little bit since he is in there. He is hoping to get out next year and do his former CDL truck driving job and pay his part in 6 months to a year. I just so want done with it because I’m disabled now and it helps me with taking care of things with the kids but it screws with the benefits that I receive from social services.
