@@euanmangan7760 I don't think so. If you ask around most people will say they know Creep and that's it. Also, the band is unjustly maligned for being depressive.
This has always been my favorite Radiohead song of all time. It's so unbelievably somber and hopeless, and yet full of pent-up frustration and energy. It is truly a masterpiece.
There's a gap in between. There's a gap where we meet. Where i end and you begin.. And I'm sorry for us, the dinosaurs roam the earth.. The sky turns green, where i end and you begin! I'm up in the clouds, I'm up in the clouds and i can't, i can't come down! I can watch but not take part, where i end and where you start. where you left me alone. you left me alone... X will mark the place like the parting of the waves like a house falling in the sea in the sea.. I will eat you alive i will eat you alive i will eat you alive i will eat you alive There'll be no more lies There'll be no more lies There'll be no more lies There'll be no more lies!
i swear radiohead puts so much feeling and perfection into their songs that even live performances like this sound just like the album version when you play them side by side. freaking amazing.
Among the popular music audience, Thom York and Radiohead are unknown, but their music will continue to be the most influential music of this generation. That is what real music should be.
"X will mark the place like a parting of the waves, like a house falling in the sea." This line is so simple yet so amazing. Thom is great at using strong images in his lyrics.
2:16 - 2:31 gives me the chills everytime. It cuts so deeply into the smooth, flowing texture of the verses, and completely introduces a different view of the song. Genius!
Just noticed something cool. From 2:42 to 2:47, Jonny loops his riff on the French Connection and the riffs plays nonstop to the end of the song while he does an alternate line over it. That's pretty much what he does in the final section of How To Disappear Completely (check out the live in Saitama version). His looped line goes on and on while the band leaves the stage. I've known Radiohead for years and years and they never cease to amaze me.
I can honestly say i've never seen a musician get into their work more than Thom Yorke. Whatever it is inside his mind that allows him to write songs as effectively as he does, and perform them with such spirit is beyond me. Hell yeah Thom Yorke, and hell yeah Radiohead.
amo la energia de thom en esta cancion una enegria desesperada , saludos a todo el mundo desde mexico , es increible como esta musica tiene un idioma universal....
I must have been wonderful to connect with your grandfather that way. I have always been alenated by my family for the same reasons your grandfather accepted you. You were very fortunate. I am sorry for your loss, the world is a far dimmer place for his leaving.
I love this band so much. You can see the passion burning in the eyes of every member while they're playing. Thom with his signature head rocking back and forth, Ed looking good/owning up the guitar, Jonny with his head down being pro at life, Phil's precision drumming, and Colin grooving on the bass (love his facial expressions).
The sense I get from Radiohead is that they BELIEVE in what they are doing. Every word, every note, every funky effect, every drumbeat. It's almost as if they don't do it for the audience-they do it for themselves, and those of us who like them are along for the ride.
man o man...i saw the whole radiohead performance (not just this song) in HD on my television while I was faded and lemme tell ya, that was VERY VERY amazing... I really need to go to one of his concerts!
It's incredible live. I wasn't hugely into this song before I saw it live, but looking back it was the highlight of my night and one of the moments that sticks out for me the most. I'm the kind of person who NEVER dances, but this song got me dancing like I never had before, I didn't want it to end. I urge anyone who's a fan of this song to check out the eurockennes performance, just search "watch thom tweak".
atmospherics, can't go wrong with a background of ebow, great bassline, jangly guitar, great drum beat, urgent panicked lyrics--good use of reverb...great experience here methinks
its liek radiohead are ten years younger now, theyve found that energy again. look at all the songs from this set from ion the basement, theyre soo energised and loving it u can see it
i'm REALLY glad you said that. this to me is one of their most underrated tracks. my hat's off. i actually enjoy that this song is not well known though. i say keep it like a secret. datacarl
me encanta esta cancion de radiohead pocas personas aprecian estos sonidos especialmente en mexico donde la musica carece de inspiracion, muy buena cancion de mi banda favorita Radiohead....
You're right moiphx2, a lot of HTTT's tuneage ie. lyrics def convey the inner most feelings/trappings of a break-up song esp this haunting/taunting tune.
Colin is such a bass MASTER :)
bass line to die for :-)
Thom Yorke has been making my life better for over 20 years now. Thanks Thom.
2:42 rolls up his sleeves, takes off both hands, and doesn't mess up the chord
The most underrated song off the most underrated album of an underrated band.
I agree with the first two sentiments but Radiohead are basically universally adored, how are they underrated?
@@euanmangan7760 I don't think so. If you ask around most people will say they know Creep and that's it. Also, the band is unjustly maligned for being depressive.
This song and this performance is soooooo incredible, thank you Radiohead :)
absolutely love thom's guitar in the last minute or so in this take. can't get enough of this version
This song perhaps is among their most underrated songs, along with Climbing up the walls, just to name another one

I listen to this song for 4 or 5 years and it still making me shiver ... radiohead is awsome.
No words!

One of the best bassists ever and one of the best drummers ever doing some of their finest work. Great stuff!

The more you listen to them, the more you love them. I will never get tired of Radiohead.
Masterpiece!
There is room in my heart for Muse and Radiohead.
Both bands have helped keep me sane through difficult times.

not Just a Song...but a UNIQUE tale
Thank you Thom Yorke
One of the best rhythm sections ever. Just love this song, seen it live twice, always comes off
2:46 after many years I still fail to understand
Hahahah. Yep! Every time!
One of their best songs and performances. Brilliant
This is actually better than the original.
groove bass with tight simple, yet elegant drums plus the abstract singing and musicianship by the rest = perfect combonation.

Have been listening to this album for about 5 years now and still gives me goosebumps
magic
It's good to see this live, to remind you that as well as being capable of creating huge expansive soundscapes, they remain a fantastic guitar band.
without radiohead there is no muse?
I like Muse, but to be honest they are just ok. Wouldn't compare them to Radiohead.
A sound production from the best !
★★★★★.
Thanks.
They are considered the new state of aggregation of Pink Floyd.
They will influence the future of music.
They are RADIOHEAD.
Thanks a lot for posting these.
These guys are so into tune with each other. Love Radiohead forever.
I could indeed :) Thanks, and thanks for posting

Very emotional and powerful band. Onoe of the best bands of our time.
There's a gap in between, there's a gap where we meet. Where I end and u begin."
Def one of my fav Radiohead songs of all time!
That scratchy rhythm guitar improv in the middle is top-notch! Genius.
I watch this video usually once a day. Thank you: Philip, Ed, Jonny, Colin, and Thom!
this song is beautiful i m always listenig this song when i m happy or sad or i love somebody

These guys are monsters! I can't think of anyone even coming close to touching their genius this day and age.
my favorite radiohead song..... and i am in love with radiohead
EBOW!!! want one so bad, ed gets such an awesome tone with it!!!
the E-Bow treatment is well done here...the drums pick this song off of the ill-groundlying bass line and vocals...just spectacular : )
hauntingly beautiful.
it really can't get much better than this.
I am never bored by Radiohead.
leaving me in awe, as usual.
Colin Greenwood is amazing.
I love how they all seem so damn passionate.
One of my favorite bands.
I can't stop listening to this song Love it!
atmospherics, can't go wrong with a background of ebow, great bassline, jangly guitar, great drum beat, urgent panicked lyrics--good use of reverb...great experience here methinks
this is one of those lullaby type of songs
it's so relaxing and ambient
I am up in the clouds
I am up in the clouds
And I can't and I can't

You're right moiphx2,

man, they sound soooo good. i wish i could see them live.
this song gives me the impression of not being left alone.
Pretty sure he's been widely recognised as one of the best drummers of his time. The guy is amazing, he's like a drum machine.
Sweet. This band is the caca. All their stuff trips me out. Love it.
