I was looking for something to replaced Lenovo Thinkpad E555 AMD A6 for video editing and I believe the Motile was an affordable replacement but honestly not so much for gaming. You can get away with light gaming at lower settings but other then that there are games that you might want to play that won't run well on this laptop or will drop low on the frame scale. However, video renders are pretty fast... The keyboard took some getting use to coming from a 15" laptop and the USB ports have a death grip which would be a good thing on a laptop with some weight but not this really light laptop. Wish there was dual channel memory but it is nice to have another ssd slot and I hope walmart release some accessories for it like a dock or a case (shell) would be nice.
I'm running the fast 16gb ddr4 and it runs good in a motile 142 model laptop and halo master chief collection runs just fine at 1080p also the Amd Ryzen5 3500U supports single 32 gb ddr4 stick
Darren, thanks for the review. Going to buy the black laptop once Walmart gets more stock. Also, which wifi card do you recommend. And is it possible to change slot 1 where OS is installed to nvme and install OS there?
im new to all this pc stuff. i just bought this a couple days ago and its a great budget computer and great design.i dont know where to find these upgrades like ram and more storage if someone could help me that would be amazing
Just search for 16gb ddr4 2400 laptop ram, and for storage any m.2 format will work, but the best performance will be with NVME drives, it has two drive ports.
we need a small powerful laptop. Your review made the difference. Sadly the laptops have gone up in price now. 250 R3 vs 400 R5. but i still think for 400 bucks they are still worth it especially after upgrades. 16GB makes it run great.. and fortnite for example runs JUST fine. Notebookcheck called it the best calibrated display in a laptop under 500 they had seen, and THX in their blog post on this admits it's just making the best of whatever hardware they tune, so I wouldn't say it does nothing, it's the best this panel can do but it's still a cheap panel.
I love my chromebook, but its just too limited if i want to do anything beyond web browsing and cloud applications. I've been eyeing this Motile and its by far the cheapest 14" i5/ryzen5 slim laptop. Great review, its currently on sale for 300, i think ill pick this up.
@@phillipjames453 I got a Chromebook for my parents because Windows and bloatware was just causing way too many questions and problems. My mother asked me how she can scan with her printer. This thing will definitely run those games at 1080p. Might have to put settings low-medium but from what i'm seeing you will get good performance on those games with this laptop.
This is a very on-point review. First thing to understand is that this is not actually a gaming computer, though you may be able to do some light gaming on it.
