Explorer Lee Berger visits the Cradle of Humankind region in South Africa and shows us what makes this area so spectacular. What fascinated you most about this remarkable region?
I just keep on watching natgeo 24/7
Thanks guys
Ahhh yes. I remember when we went there on a school trip in grade 5. It was really really cool to go into the caves. Just being down there makes you feel that much smaller compared to nature.
How much of African continent is left to discover !! 👌❤️
Its already been discovered...
How can you discover a place people live for more than 3000 years?
Nothing because in Africa nothing last and everything is taken
@@rubenscott3972
True. The sun breaks down everything. Much has been removed, too. There are still ancient sites still in existence that speak of a rich history. They are waiting to be rediscovered.
@@SerengetiNationalParadise you mean millions of years?
> sees johannesburg
> nopes into the desert
seems like a pretty good plan
Telling us the story of us...How beautifully put! 💖

👍 Good friend 🙂 💫 👍
I'll believe it when someone can tell me why we all should have began in Africa but no one can....
I thought the cradle was at the top of the African continent, not the bottom. Time for another research project as I never knew this place existed.
pretty

@Aeon there is no such thing as a "pure bread human" and if there are they are extremely rare. Most modern day humans contain large segments of dna that originate from interbreeding with denisovians and neanderthals. We didn't become the species homosapien on one linear evolutionary timeline; like canis familaris the domestic dog we have a series of evolutionary timelines that are interwoven. This was discovered after the complete sequencing of our genetic history in the The Human Genome Project. So to say that humans soley came from Africa is scientifically incorrect and a racist opinion. However if you are talking about a common ancestor of all humans coming from Africa you would be correct; just like the denisovians, neanderthals and all the unknown subspecies of humans we keep discovering come from that same common ancestor. However that common ancestor is so far back in the evolutionary chain it's negligible for this argument. We are also talking abou the missing link so we really don't know who or what they where and for people to infer that modern day Africans hold a monopoly on this common ancestor is basically comparing them to the missing link and I'm not a scientist or anything but that's racist.

How exactly is God killing millions every day? lol.
There is no god.
We are all africans.
What does geographic° think about cannibis cultivstion"!.™^°
Boring
Sorry, but the first humans did not come from Africa. Any body that believes that is living in a fantasy. The true cradle of the world, the true place where humans lived is in what was the meeting of 4 rivers in a valley. Two of the rivers are flooded by the Persian gulf and the other two are still in existence today. Darwin has it wrong. Just observing nature and making educated guesses. It only was relevant for the era in which he lived.
Down with your lies, you demons! 😠😡🤬 We are luminous beings, created by God
Created by science.. we where
Once as gods
Ok, in Africa!
@prabath Hemachandra so what are we? Just a product of time, space and entropy. I refuse to believe that we're just molecules and atoms.
Very nice information
