I was just walking in my neighborhood and I saw this triangle on the floor and took a picture and the Google lens thingy said it was a shuffleboard, then I went to UA-cam and searched for "shuffleboard" and this came out. Thanks for the explanation
I played for the first time last night with my family, but none of us had ever played. We'd watched a shorter video explainer, but I was confused on a few details. This was a good introduction and answered all my questions!
Thanks for this helpful intro tutorial for shuffleboard! I am getting ready to join the ladies shuffleboard club at OTOW - this helps me feel more prepared as a new member and new player of this game.
Very good shuffleboard introduction tutorial! I would only always recommend to give 2 steps, first one with your leg from the same size of your hand holding the cue. I think it’s better for balance your swing, giving more accuracy. But nice job! UA-cam needs more videos like that to help promote this amazing sport!
Thankz! My family has started RVing fulltime and every Campground that we stay at has shuffleboard... needless to say... we have been playing all wrong... not anymore thankz to you!
Very informative introduction and much needed because there isn't that much about the game on youtube. I hope you make another video covering the intermediate level of play; and maybe cover good methods of waxing the discs and why those dimples on the discs are colored.
@@therrienmichael08 I was told by Josh at the Allen R Shuffleboard Co. the following: "Tournament players and clubs will number discs (color the dimples) so they are able to identify them. If you sense that one of the discs is a little slower or faster you can choose to use that disc for clearing a disc off the board or placing a block while avoiding using it for scoring since the speed difference could cause you to shoot long or short. Because tournament players usually shoot the discs in order (one colored dimple to 4 colored dimples) from 1 to 4 sometimes disc 1 can end up a little slower due to being the first disc on the board meaning it gets knocked off the board and drug through the alley between the courts more often than disc 4. The other thing clubs will do is mark the discs using different colors to prevent the discs from getting mixed up with the discs from nearby courts"
By you walking on the board to see if the yellow disk was a good shot or not, was not very safe as you are not supposed to walk in the court. You would need to get down on hands and knees and lean over.
Great vid. Was a lot clearer than the Shuffleboard Strategy book I got by Glen Peltier. Do you know a good website for finding public courts nearby? You'd think South Florida would have a good resource hub, but I have yet to find a useful website.
Not that I know of. I would just do a search of shuffleboard courts in general. Many of the non public courts can be joined for as little as $10 a year.
I assume you're talking about the game score total. Usually 75 but it could be any number or there could be a set number of frames with 12 and 16 being the most popular.
Back on your cruise ship, you novice! Seriously, I found this tutorial very helpful, as there are so many different rule descriptions in the Internet about shuffleboard, but this guy is just trustworthy BECAUSE he sounds seriously. Writing this from a cruise ship 🫡

Thanks for the comment Duane.
There’s a park with those courts just next to my new appartment. Thanks for the explainations!
You're welcome...Have fun.
@@DarrylKenyon but I found out a shuffleboard kit is more than 100$can and there’s no way to try it before… so it will have to wait 😅
@@unemilifleur Are their any shuffleboard clubs near you? They would have equipment and it wouldn't cost you to use.
@@DarrylKenyon yeah, but they’re for the elderly only 😂😅 I’ll get my hands on a kit!
Playing shuffle board today thanks for this video

Why are the dimples colored ??

Thanks, I finally understand how to play it. May I ask what material is the court made of? And the disks? Thanks in advance
Shuffleboard courts are made of concrete lined with a sort of plastic laminate or reinforced vinyl. The disks are made of strong fiberglass material.
lets go!! shuffle board for life!!
It's fun....Thanks for watchibng.
How are you supposed to put discs in the kitchen when all the discs are already in the kitchen?
Starting point 😀
There's a park where they have this and there was a sign saying there are competitons, I was just curious how it plays.
Try it out....Thanks for watching.

U R Correct.
Thanks for making this video! There was a lot of info in it. How do you play with just two players?
It's really not a two person game unless you have someone to return the disks to you at the other end.
I just put in a 48 by 28 multipurpose court may yard that has a broom finish what's the best type of shuffleboard biscuits to buy for that
I'm sorry but I don't have a clue.
Yo waddup class

Wher do left handed players stand to shut the puck
Just the opposite of right handed players. Thanks for watching.
in your experience, how long does an average game take?
30-45 minutes.
NICE

How do you know how hard to shoot it
It's pretty easy....You'll get the feel of it after a few shots.
What's highest score u. Allowed to get
I assume you're talking about the game score total. Usually 75 but it could be any number or there could be a set number of frames with 12 and 16 being the most popular.
Yes
so you can't use two hand to push off ?
Not sure I understand the question.
@@DarrylKenyon I see that only one hand is used on the pole to push the disk. Is two Hands not allowed ?
@@iron1215 It's allowed but you would lose all control trying to do it.
Something is called 'the hammer', but this is not explained.
Good question. The Hammer is the very last and most powerful shot taken.
Titanic vibes
Thanks for watching
Add rules
Good idea.
He called it a sport! LOL
Yeah...lol
I wanted to know the rules, not a safety video.
Sorry.
Guess you didn't watch much of the video
Seriously it’s an introduction as labeled.
OR....if you want to take one step, you can move closer to the line
This guy takes this game too seriously. I thought it was supposed to be fun.
It is fun, but to get better at it you have to take it seriously. We play in alot of tournaments. Thats where the fun comes in.
