As a British person I am embarrassed and disgusted by the racist comments on such a tragic incident, regardless of where people come from or live, no one has the right to post the disgusting comments that they have. Those who have should be embarrassed of themselves, these are human lives - it isnt important where they come from.

The way the London community came together overnight to help the residents of Grenfell was absolutely beautiful. So many people came with clothes, food, blankets, and so much more for those who literally lost everything. This fire should have never happened, and the cladding material needs to be banned from every country. God bless those souls who were lost so horrifically. ❤❤❤

If 9/11 taught me anything, it's that you should ignore the "advice" for these disaster situations to stay put and instead GTFO as soon as possible.
I can see where the fire brigade was coming from the with the stay put advice (in a normal fire it lets them find you easier I guess), but in this case it was awful and completely inappropriate advice. If everyone had evacuated immediately, countless lives could have been saved.

I used to live in Lancaster West Estate, many years ago. I am so sorrty for the fire in Grenfell Tower. I am sorry for all the people who lost their life in that way.

It's a sad commentary on the hate and intolerance that's going on today. They absolutely should be ashamed of themselves but that's part of the problem people like that have no shame. thank you Brenda, I appreciate, I never normally comment on such things, but sometimes its too much, particually with what is and still unfolding, that people with nothing better to do just want to incite hatred, there is enough in the world, without cowards taking to UA-cam saying their "piece" im surprised UA-cam allow such disgusting racist comments without removing them ..... Im sure the haters would react completely different in the face of those affected or god forbid if their own loved ones were involved.
That little girl was literally on fire… that horrifying and to think no one’s been prosecuted for it disturbs me greatly because all it means to me is that this will happen again because there is no repercussions
i think its disgraceful that the people in charge thought it more important about the appearance of the block costing millions putting in covers to make it look better than putting in fire measures especially for such a tall building. they let all those people down. what a waste of money and niw all those lives lost. i hope they learn a lesson from this and make changes so it doesn't happen again. rip to all those who lost their lives 😭😭😢😢😢

It would be a good idea for firefighters to tell all people to turn on all the taps and block the overflow.
Just as good as a sprinkler as this will flood the floor and the ceiling underneath.
Certainly would buy some more time and save some lives doing this.

What about the fire suppression system was that working or did the building not have any type of sprinkler system.

I mean you wouldn't be saying these things if a close relative of yours was in tht tower so don't say it at all because you're hurting so many people

As they say the cladding was to blame for this fire, but councils had to do cut backs due to the government cutting spending by councils, sounds like the council used non fireproof cladding hence causing an inferno, also councils took no notice of all the complaints by residents, a lot of questions will be asked.

I'm from the US where ALL taller buildings and even 1 level buildings have sprinkler systems. When I heard there was no sprinkler system I nearly fainted! How could anyone build a one staircase, 24 story building and NOT in good conscious put in a sprinkler system? Build as if YOUR family will live there, try caring!!

Big respect for the firefighters on the scene that night. Saved a lot of people. Yes the people were told to stay in their homes but that’s come from above. I don’t think the firefighters on the ground necessarily agree with that process. Maybe initially but not after a while.

Every Square foot of Cladding contained the equivalent to nearly 3 litres of flammable petrol hence why they stood no chance

Unfortunately the construction industries Titanic moment. This tragedy will now completely redefine how tower blocks will be designed and constructed in the future. From where it was supposedly thought each flat was a self contained cell in containing a fire is a total myth. One can speculate on how this fire spread so quickly, but for the desperation of the people who loss their lives and their homes this is not the time. If I were living in a high rise block flats I would now be extremely worried.

This was horrible, so many excuses, not regulated building, and with an apartment that big should have had two sets of stair one on each side. smh

These committees have no teeth. All they had to do is call a meeting and ignite a piece of cladding.
Why did this block not have a dry rise.... Why didn't it have hoses on each floor... why didn't they have fire doors on all flats with fire foam excluder's... This Tragedy should NEVER have happened.. May all that's have died find their peace... May everyone that is effected from residents witnesses all blue lighters and nhs workers and more that stepped up be granted peace and healing..
Because of legionnaires disease in the water . They removed them from my block and I couldn’t believe my ears when the fire man told me why his removing them
So..they do a Refurb wiyh FLAMMABLE material... the fire starts but the tell everyone to STAY INSIDE AND WAIT FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS.. but the fire was an OBVIOUS RAPID FIRE... The cladding was not fire retardant and it was the reason the fire spread so rapidly and effectively.

What is wrong with you? Even if the whole building was full of illegals (it was not) why would it be OK to be happy that they burned to death? I am in the U.S. but my understanding is that Council Flats are subsidized housing open to ANYONE who qualifies. There were several survivors interviewed who mentioned their work and they all sounded like ordinary people who work ordinary jobs. London is horrifically expensive to live in. A normal job's salary is not going to pay the rent there. If you live there then you know that. You sound like the redneck racists here in the U.S. Shame on you.

Where was the army, where were the helicopters?
Many top 5 floors residents decided to run to roof top wait to be rescued, however cladding flame already reached the architecture crown in just less than 15 mins, the ones decided to go up instead of go down the staircase all died. Helicopter won’t even help in this situation. Corridor and staircase were covered heavily by toxic dark smoke, the whole situation was a death trap, and in addition to that fire brigade’s bridge can’t reach beyond 19 floor height. They simply have no choice but stay in room or jump out window.
