最初はギャグっぽいコミカルな感じだけど、徐々に狂った感じがあふれてくる感じがまさにケフカ
ケフカといえばこの曲ですね！
最初のほうから登場して、結局、ラスボスもケフカでしたね！
Kefka’s laugh will forever be iconical.

That laugh changes everything.
Best villain in the whole series. He actually succeeds.
For about 1 year
I don’t think Kefka succeeds. He has no real goal except to do whatever he wants in the moment. He didn’t really want to destroy the world, he just realized he could and was like “fuck it”
@@guineapiggames8208 exactly that, he didn't have any moral ambiguity or any hidden saint intention, he doesn't even have any sad backstory to justify his action, this villain is just pure evil, the embodiment of chaos, and that is what makes him the perfect villain

Kefka's laughter: the most iconic sound of the 16-bit era
It sounds like such a playful tune, but contrasted against Kefka's unhinged actions, it takes on a whole new level of brutality.
Yes,Kefka's theme,without considering the context of the story,might seem like another one of those comic moments,but while his theme plays along with his atrocities (considering the context of the moments),hence you can see how intimidating and cruel Kefka's theme really is,unlike the themes of Golbez and Exdeath,which just by listening to it,we already know that they are the bad guys in the story (Golbez not that much)
The more you enjoy being in power, the more power you want, and the more you end up abusing it. That's Kefka's curse.
The first time you see him, he's having a blast bullying his subordonates and menacing royalty. I think that's what this theme reflects : cunning evil hiding behind the mask of petty condecendence and playful shiftiness.
This theme is used in a very different way in "dancing mad" the final boss music, where it becomes downright brutal and terriffying.
Many years later, Ardyn's theme immediately reminded me of Kefka's theme. It has a similar bounciness that is hiding something sinister underneath.
@@sforzie Well,considering that they both prevailed against the heroes in their games and ruled until the heroes defeated them in rematch,I can see a good parallel for them

Him poisoning the water which led to a certain party member losing his family was the poignant moment in the game for me, a reminder of how far Kefka can go

You know, his theme summarizes perfectly our perception of him first time we play the game, from start to finish:
00:00 - 00:18 "What a pathetic loser. He'll never be a real threat to the party, by any means"
00:19 - 00:30 "Wait... wait... Did he just... poison a whole kingdom? Well, maybe he's not as a pushover as I thought...."
00:31 - 01:01 "Oh my god... He just killed the top general of his empire.... Oh... my... God, he just killed his emperor!..... OH MY FU.... GOD, HE'S DESTROYING THE WORLD!!!
01:02 - 01:17 "No wonder he's considered the greatest FF villain ever. What a monster!"
FF6 has a special place in my heart. It's one of the best in the franchise.

I love how this guy is played up mostly as a joke aside from the water supply incident, making you feel safe thinking he's nothing more than a crazy lackey. But then there's that "Oh God..." moment on the floating continent where you realize that he's not some one-off nutjob and that things are about to get REALLY screwed up with him on center stage.

I remember when I first heard this I immediately thought of poor unfortunate souls for some reason way back in 94, also Jesters of the Moon in FFIX was a fun sequel piece too.
