He looks phenomenal, the subtle change in finish makes a big difference and the face is, of course, classic Gordon!
I honestly think Bachmann should really update their og models at this point cause of their recent model works of more recent characters or even classic characters like their daisy model for example is fantastic and I would love to see a more accurate Thomas, Percy and James from them
Honestly I'm surprised they haven't made interchangable faces a feature of their models. Like if they sold good faces separately they'd make a ton and it'd seriously improve their models.
In my opinion, Bachmann and Thomas Wooden Railway (2022) are the only remaining high-quality Thomas merchandise lines left, because they're the two merchandise lines that focus on how Thomas was meant to be.
The model looks too accurate to the original show. It basically shows how he acts in the series. A rude, proud, serious and reliable engine who pulls the express everyday on the Fat Controller's railway. Just perfect.
I think the Bachmann Gordon is a decent model personally I’m more of a Hornby Thomas guy. It just shows a little hard work to apartment model. Can make it look so good.

I kinda predicted since I looked at the thumbnail that the model was a custom! Honestly, I wonder HOW the mod to have an angry face for the engine AND still utilise the moving eye mechanism blew my mind!
I actually fell for this and Googled “Bachmann Grumpy Gordon” Also, I think I might have an explanation for the thick lamp irons. Truth be told, many of the other engines also have them, it just depends on the release I guess. I have two Thomases that have thin ones, and one from the starter set that has thick ones. My Percy also has the thick ones, as well as had a much thicker coupler hook at the front (before I replaced them with Hornby screw links, anyways). My guess for the thick lamp irons and hooks is actually pretty simple: it’s kids. These models are designed for a slightly younger audience, and so they make these details thicker and less likely to break.

Okay, one thing about the axle boxes. They should have little strips coming out from the side, then slanting into the tender. That's why they feel kind of weird.

I think Beau shouldn't be Limited Edition and should have buffers like in the Special. Maybe Bachmann could also make Sam since they made so many Big Boy American Locomotives!!!!!!! Hopefully they can Redesign their Locomotives without moving eyes, TV Series Accurate Lamps like Oliver/Ryan, Accurate Faces for Percy/James, and an open cab for James (Not too much to Ask Bachmann if you're reading this).

Gonna be honest. Apart from the eyes being a bit too small, I honestly don’t think there’s anything wrong with the face. It’s based off the HiT Era version of that face (S10 to S11) and it honestly captures that incredibly well for the most part. Just my opinion 🤷🏻♂️

Thomas, Edward, Henry, Gordon, James, Percy & Salty all have this problem. It gives them this uncanny look to me. If Bachmann were to ever redo it improve some of their models, what I’d suggest would be: . Use the Classic Series faces as that’s what fans love & are the most iconic versions .Have the faces in matt rather than gloss . Scrap the moving eyes, it’s a pointless gimmick
