This guy does the best stuff, glad you liked it. He's playing on the stereotype of blunt "Seth Efrikens" vs reserved and uptight English. Thanks for reacting matey
Fantastic reaction Alan, right up your ally as the pharmacist would say, your laughing is infectious, perhaps you could have Harry Enfield take a look at it for you, he seems like a helpful chap 😂
Just stumbled across this video by chance. Funny throughout. Certainly shared your reactions. You might want to react to a Little Britain clip featuring Marjorie Daws and Rosie O'Donnell. You'll laugh too at these clips.
He probably got the idea from meeting a South African person. They are known for their brutal unfiltered forthright nature; not trying to insult but saying things exactly as they see them.
I'm so glad you reacted to Harry. His sketch shows and characters where among my favourites. There was one episode I'd watched so many times I could practically recite the script. After many years he finally did a live tour with his Co star Paul Whitehouse bringing many of his most loved characters to life which I saw in Glasgow and was a dream come true. One of my favourites is the randy wobbly old ladies. The inspiration for them comes from when Harry was a milk man in his younger days. Old customers would offer their body to him at the door. One old lady saying to him. I may be a mangey old cat but I can still get the cream lol. You've reacted to The Two Ronnie's well he did a sketch with Ronnie Corbett which is awesome. Like fork handles it's a play on words but modern. At one point you can see Harry is struggling not to laugh. You have to see that clip.
I can't remember who recorded it, Bill Mauldin or Spike Milligan: someone had crabs, and the prescription for that was " blue ointment" Which the pharmacy assistant said, very loudly ( BLUE OINTMENT) ( and, this is why think it was recounted by Milligan) the soldier replied, just as loudly YES! I'VE GOT BLOODY CRABS ! ( Should mention that that was the only use for blue ointment)
That was brilliant, I love Harry Enfield, he's come out with so many different memorable characters over the years. I love that I can always relate them to someone I know / knew who's a bit like that. I used to frequent a pharmacist many years ago where a woman serving would always say a bit too much about how this or that pill could help with [insert discreet condition here]. I got too embarrassed to go in there after a while!
Yeah I think this took the Monty Python version of this idea to a whole new level. In the Monty Python version I think it was John Cleese playing the part of the chemist calling out "Who's got a boil on the bum then?" to a shop full of embarrassed customers awaiting their prescription. Worth a look but not as good as the Harry Enfield version. The BEST sketch he ever did in my opinion was a spoof football match between a team from the 30's and a "modern" (1991) football team, Liverpool, It's filmed mostly in black and white and is pretty darn hilarious but I've only ever seen one person react to it in recent years. Association Football - Harry Enfield - Mr Cholmondley-Warner
I was once in a chemist in the rural town my Mum lived in, in the Cotswolds, England. She was dying and I had gone it to collect her medication and meal supplements. A tall elderly man was at the counter discussing his medication. I tried not to listen as it was his business but the shop was very small. As he turned to leave it was a VERY famous music producer.. Sir George Martin, who had worked with the Beatles on their biggest hits. He lived nearby.. Obviously, I wouldn't discuss here what the medication was for. He must have been in his 70s or 80s but still very handsome indeed.
GP surgery receptionists are guilty of this! I've been sat in the waiting area and heard all manner of things I didn't need to know when the receptionists are talking to patients either at the desk or on the phone, including names and addresses.
This reminds me of going to A&E during covid and this poor kid had to say out loud he had a problem with his testicles. I felt so bad for him. Hope he's ok. His dad should have helped him out imo. Poor dude.
Loved watching your reaction! If you're looking for a series to react to, I can't recommend Upstart Crow enough. It's a BBC comedy following William Shakespeare from a lot of the same team as blackadder. In fact it's technically in the same universe as there's a crossover cameo. It's HILARIOUS.
He was at his peak when this came out i think, British humour at its best.....we loved this way back then, shame times has changed with snowflakes changing comedy nowadays.
I think you might be missing that a whole part of this is the fact he has an Afrikaans accent. I think that has more significance here in the UK than it might do in the USA. Harry is a comedy genius.
Hey beard , someone has reposted the whole of jim davidsons sinderella about 13 days ago , would love to see a reaction but dont risk a takedown or a strike as your reactions keep me smiling 😊
Also please go back in time and do Al Murray : How Global Finance Really Works. My favourite piece from someone I never watched until You Tube reaction channels. EB being at the top!
When I was 18 I went to the chemist to buy a box of 12 condoms known as Durex. I whispered trying to not let anyone else in the chemist hear to the woman behind the counter...A pack of 12 durex please. In a loud voice she yelled at her assistant across the room....Madge how much are a box of 12 condoms.😫
I worked for a couple of South African blokes a few years ago in a customer facing setting and they really over-try to fit in with the English but it just never seems to work out. They think they're being all banter but it just comes across inappropriate. Good reaction EB
When Enfield gets it right, and he does more than not, he is brilliant. His William Ulsterman sketch is 100% spot on, which from my wee part of the world is quite embarrassing 😂
Remember this from the original airing. I thought it was a bit risque even then, but you're right this sort of thing would never be made now. Might upset someone!
Not a good video copy, but still as funny. And...if ur going to talk, or laugh over it, PAUSE the video! Not for my benefit, but for yours, as I've seen them all before. Many American reactors talk as the video is playing, and then don't get the 'joke', because they talked over the bit leading up to the end of the joke/scene! You have been told! :o)
Have a look at Harry Enfield Self Righteous Brothers - Hill.. where he talks to actual British Formula 1 Racing Driver Damon Hill & gives him a verbal reprimand. Also Self Righteous Brothers having a dig at Neil Armstrong.
Please forgive my comment as it's got nothing to do with this video. I've just watched the behaviour panels podcast and I think your great ancestor could be Santa 😂. Love from the United Kingdom x
This guy does the best stuff, glad you liked it. He's playing on the stereotype of blunt "Seth Efrikens" vs reserved and uptight English. Thanks for reacting matey
Loved his shows, you couldn't do this type of comedy anymore in case one person gets upset and complains 😊
I can't believe Mrs Bridges keeps coming back! Must be the only chemist in town!
Harry and his "fantastic" South African accent.
Yep,has been commented on by people from SA,..Does a brilliant Northern Ireland one as well....
@@westboundbadger And cockney posh 😂😂
@@westboundbadger He also did a very good Dutch accent in the sketch "Police in Amsterdam".
@@gerardvanwilgen9917 Yes i remember !
I knew you would find that hilarious Electric Beard. Absolutely brilliant 😂😂😂😂😂
The first woman that came in is Georgie Glen. She plays Miss Higgins in call the Midwife now. Shes very young there.
Fantastic reaction Alan, right up your ally as the pharmacist would say, your laughing is infectious, perhaps you could have Harry Enfield take a look at it for you, he seems like a helpful chap 😂
This is a great one Alan! Glad you enjoyed it:) Hope you're all well and thriving!
John Cleese did exactly this sketch in 1970's in MP.
Pure comedic genius
Just stumbled across this video by chance. Funny throughout. Certainly shared your reactions. You might want to react to a Little Britain clip featuring Marjorie Daws and Rosie O'Donnell. You'll laugh too at these clips.
Omg, Little Britain is something I've tried to react to on here but was blocked every time. What I've seen of that show is hilarious.
Jurgen the German is a classic Harry Enfield.
As Jurgen klopp has been known to say...Wow...😊😊😊
Please check out Harry Enfield
( I SAW YOU COMING ) compilation 😂😂😂😂 funny af ✌🇮🇪
When i saw the title i knew you would enjoy this as much. Ive seen the clip many times but wanted to see you having a good laugh. Thanks
This has got to be one of his best sketches ever 🤣🤣🤣
Les the barman with about a 3 second memory is brilliant,as far as I know he only did about 3 sketches of him, well worth watching.
Thank you for this absolutely loved it.
was hoping you would finally react to this lol
When Harry and Paul get together they can come up with such great stuff. Harry Enfield - Whos That Girl Sketch
That's a classic. They recreated it live during their UK tour because of its popularity.
It's the prozac onethat murders me from laughing lol, "cheer up love it might never happen!" 🤦♂🤦♂🤣🤣
He probably got the idea from meeting a South African person. They are known for their brutal unfiltered forthright nature; not trying to insult but saying things exactly as they see them.
EB in raucous form👍great stuff mate that was hilarious🤣🤣✌️
Also check out his American tourist sketches, if you haven't already. Especially when they go for breakfast. 🤓
He does a suprisingly good South African accent here. Is he suggesting that South Africans aren't tactful??? 😂

Alan youve come to the table late on this but great reaction one of the best.

Your reaction is priceless and you’re right. Comic genius

You should look up Harry and Paul doing When Harry Met Sally parody. Really funny stuff. Thanks, Alan!
So funny 🤣. Merry 🎄from 🇮🇹🇧🇪🇪🇺❤️

You still got the best laugh on UA-cam!!
Hes hilarious. Very funny. 🤣👍
Hi E.B., Merry Xmas to you, your family & all the other commentators & viewers of your channel. :)
South Africans have a reputation for being very ' direct ' 😂
You need to check out Harry and Paul's sketch "Bob and Bob's car sales" it's fantastic.
Loved watching your reaction!

It's HILARIOUS.
The South African Accent makes the situation more comical!
Monty python did a version of this back in 1969 Harry must have been inspired by it !
Honesty is tough. 🙂
Yes I agree with you
Thank you guy for finding this I have PMSL so funny best wishes 😆😆😆😆🤣🤣😉
He perfectly captured the white south African character.
The “Mister Ulsterma” sketch is my favorite.
ToughTurd is gonna be my next online name

Harry Enfield is hilarious, been a fan of his for years.
I knew he was funny from the start when he makes that stupid face in the opening credits 😂
No apples were booted in this sketch 🤣
Eclectic's a riot on our UK stream... best punctuator of reaction material.... King & Queen Boomer a close 2nd.
Brilliant. Loved watching Harry back in the 90's. I think his best work was with Paul Whitehouse. Cheers man!! 😎
You should see his "gay nazis" - it's hilarious - There's three of them, three short ones
You missed half the jokes when you were laughing or talking over the clip. You need to pause it when you laugh or talk.
VERY Good Reactions to a very funny Video,
Also please go back in time and do Al Murray : How Global Finance Really Works.

Happy bumming 👋
That line kills me
I just noticed the wince on her face when he said _genital_ 😆
I think a actor called Charlie hogson wrote a lot of stuff with Harry hes in a sketch show called the fast show which is also very funny
Charlie Higson
great stuff
If you watch chewin the fat comedy it’s the same cast as still game
I doubt the woke police would allow this on the BBC these days. Ah the 1990's
Remember this from the original airing. I thought it was a bit risque even then, but you're right this sort of thing would never be made now. Might upset someone!
If you like this you'll love Roly Birkin from the Fast Show (also includes Harry Enfield)
Ha ha superb classic enfield.. Not sure if you done kevin and perry babysitting.. Well worth a look 👍 👍

Meena is none other than Archie Punjabi who went on to star in Blindspot and the good wife
recommend "i saw you coming" sketch shows by harry, if you like laughing at people with too much money
Real title South African pharmacist.
madtv does a similar sketch, but its an old lady calling out the prescriptions.
Excellent choice...a genuinely funny mann...I ..being slightly biased here, love his affectionate spoof of the Scousers...cheers...E..
Did you know that Harry Enfield is katey perry's former stepdad
No, Lily Allen's former stepdad.
Have a look at Harry Enfield Self Righteous Brothers - Hill.. where he talks to actual British Formula 1 Racing Driver Damon Hill & gives him a verbal reprimand. Also Self Righteous Brothers having a dig at Neil Armstrong.
Frank Doberman is hilarious. Oiiii! No! 😂
My friend
You missed half of it by blabbing over it
Please forgive my comment as it's got nothing to do with this video. I've just watched the behaviour panels podcast and I think your great ancestor could be Santa 😂. Love from the United Kingdom x
