Exclusive with Tan Dun: leaving gifts for the future

Before performing his new piece "Ancient Bells of Peking's Central Axis" in Beijing earlier this month, world-renowned composer and conductor Tan Dun sat down for an exclusive talk with China Daily online show Spotlight.
The Grammy and Oscar winner believes #music can pass messages to the future, and that it has the magic to connect the world. Tan said he considers his baton to be a telescope, through which he sees the heritage and the "spiritual gifts" he wishes to create for the younger generation.
