The pressure to put out 'stand alone' singles in the UK meant that 2 tracks recorded in the Revolver sessions didn't make the album (Paperback Writer/Rain) - just like with Pepper not including Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane. They just released the wrong songs as singles & actually ended up slightly diminishing both Revolver & Pepper!
Agreed! Oddly, these omissions have irritated me (the music-loving part, anyway) since I first read about WHY they did it. Those two albums, which are already unbelievable, would've been over the moon with those songs included, even if they had to boot a couple of songs to make room. Insane.
Revolver is my favourite Beatles album too. Along with Rubber Soul, these two transition albums strike that perfect balance between all the things that makes The Beatles' music so special!!!
Great video! I agree that Revolver is their best album (maybe tied with Sgt Pepper), but, I listen to and enjoy A Hard Day's Night and Rubber Soul the most often.
Goosh . . , I don't know but Abbey Road is near and dear to my heart on this album you can see John and Paul going in different directions musically, George was still growing, Paul is really growing, with help George Martin
I was gifted Abbey Road when in my formative years. It was my first Beatles album, I'm on my third copy. Revolver is great but it all depends on your time in space....
My two favourites are abbey road and revolver even though I prefer abbey road over revolver for it feeling a bit more complete and kinda gives closure to the beatles journey since it was made after let it be but revolver is just as perfect
*Again, I think EVERY Beatles album is perfect, so this is just my discussion of why I think Revolver is the best 🙂🤘
Too hard to pick one.. They are all awesome. Really like Here comes the sun riff. 🎸🤘
FINALLY SOME LOVE FOR REVOLVER!! Seriously my favorite album, and it needs more recognition than it already gets.
