"Your mission is to proceed up the Nung River in a Navy patrol boat. Pick up Colonel Kurtz's path at Nu Mung Ba, follow it and learn what you can along the way. When you find the Colonel, infiltrate his team by whatever means available and terminate the Colonel's command"..... reminds me of my favourite Vietnam war movie. Another stellar build.
..."Terminate...with Extreme Predjudice." 👍🏻
@@Peter-Oxley-Modelling-Lab One of the greatest lines ever....
Never get off the boat
PBR Streetgang this is Almighty standing by over.
@tom allen You mean "You are an errand boy sent by grocery clerks to collect a bill" 😉
I aint never built one but I was on one - compliments of Charlie. Awesome throwback to the wayback!
And a outstanding build.
I never thought about gluing the other half of the part while it’s still on the sprue. Great tip thanks
Same, was astonished to see it and then thought it is a great idea
Just amazing! This is not child's play but really brought out the kid in me. THANK YOU!
I haven't built a kit in over a decade, after I was hit by a drunk driver. But I decided I'm going to try my hand at THIS kit. I also saw some great photo etch for this too. I'll be happy if mine comes out half as great as yours... I'm really wanting to do the 1/35 kit of the Swedish (and U.S.) 90 Combat Boat, but it's pricey !
Personal tip... Just finished build on this kit. Will possibly go back and muddy/ stencil deck areas like you did. Looks great... For canvas cabin / roof cover, I took a baby (butt) wipe, let it dry out, white glued it to the top, sprayed it Olive Drab, dry brushed the support cross members a lighter shade of O.D., sprayed with gloss, attached star, finished with dull coat... Perfect canvas look. Trying to decide if I stop or put in the "Mekong" River !! Figures I am using based on Apocalypse now... Sheen ... shirtless and in tiger camo fatigue pants.... would love to see water build.... Happy Monday all !!
Have you it for sale?
@@cosmaninashiva6115 I will sell it... Need to put finishing touches on it though
So funny how it's such a great kit and build, and yet my favorite part is the beer bottles!
The Best way to start a new week, thanks Dusan!
Only ever built car kits from Tamiya but that looks like a very nice kit and builds into a nice model
Great video on a neglected subject ! Not too many Pibber's videos out there. Thank You ! Hope you have a great/safe week , Tony
I wanted to build this kit since I first saw it. I finally bought and built it about two years ago. I'm disappointed I did not get the boxes with the rations with this kit. Just three very little technical point about this model, the Miller Lite bottles that come with it are anachronistic as Lite came out in 1975.
I also learned that the life buoy was never red in operations so I just covered it in green. I also read that no 55 gallon drums would be carried and since they read hydraulic fluid and I have yet to learn if this fluid was even used in this boat, I still left one on the boat.
Great job on your build I really love the base with the water, I have never tried nor bought any of those. You are a real artist.
Generally in combat they would have filled the drums with earth or sand to make makeshift barriers for the gunners to use as any rounds hitting them would be stopped by the sand.
Tamiya quality from 1991 seems still better even than quality of some "today" kits. Great done boat, and rest! All the best for You! ;) And great recipe for palm tree - I must try! ;)
Outstanding work. This guy is why I quit modeling. 😅🇺🇲👍
Spectacular! That should be in a museum.
Amazing. I’ve had this one in my stash for 30 years. I will build it someday and your video gives me inspiration
I wouldn't expect a boat. First look is great. Now back to vid.
Great diorama. From Indonesia 🇮🇩
Rumor has it if you spend enough time looking at the radio in the Pibber it'll begin playing "Fortunate Son"
That song is rapidly becoming a little too Cliche for the Vietnam war
@@baronedipiemonte3990 It became a cliche a long time ago.
"Never get out of the boat. That's goddamn right"
Apocalypse Now, 1979
"Hi Tiger. Bye Tiger!"
Kurtz got off the boat, he got off the whole damn programme
I saw a snail.crawl along the edge of a straight razor
Great memories of building this kit 25 years ago😊 Great result!
Very very very cool model

Good work, i see so many art in your models
Interesting watching you paint with Tamiya paints as someone who paints miniatures with acrylics. I like the coverage with Tamiya, it's looks smooth!

I had this kit a ways back, set up a display in my fish tank with a floating dock from a oil drum kit and bamboo skewers and had the pibber tied up to it. Algae became an issue though

The hull was built by Uniflight, a civilian boat building company that built lightweight pleasure craft. Great boat, great build.

Those jump cuts were really really irritating but stellar build, im really inspired to build my own pibber sometime
I see a Catachan twin-linked Lascannon gunboat in my future. Add in some heavy bolters, and you have yourself a Party!!!

DAMN YOUR GOOD.
Ti si genije
I was adopted by a couple of river rats, who were just back from Nam, and I was fresh out of boot camp. Fun times.
I bought this kit when it first came out
yay
Hello, a few questions, the decals where you can get them, apart from this model you have options to put it to your liking. What tools would you advise me to have to make models and you can paint with a brush. thanks
Making pleace diarama with Catamaran and Iland
The fact that a beer bottle model was included 😂
klasse gemacht, daumen hoch .sind die palmenblätter aus normalen tonpapier?
Very well done. I have known a few Squids, most of them Deep Blue Sea boys, the all spoke highly of the Brown Water Navy personnel. Those guys were right in the middle of the Shit along with the Grunts and Uncle Sam's Misguided Children.
Thanks!! All the best! Dusan.
Awesome build, lovethe weathering a d ha e Lear t a few tricks from yourself thankyou, i have this kit and a lot of bravo 6 accessories and figure for it,, but I was wondering what kit you got the head with shades from if possible please,
👍
Grand tour vibes...
Dusan, I see you use XF-86. My attempts of use this varnish were absolutely disastrous. Can you give some advices of how to achieve the result like yours ?
BOTE! I will name him Phil. Hello, Phil the bote.
👍👍👍👍
I don't think Miller Lite was available during Vietnam (Just kidding). Great build.
ガンプラも作って下さいませ❗
Two things I wish I could do,draw and build models, can’t do either!
