This video looks at three ways to perform a lookup using multiple cell criteria. The methods are:
XLOOKUP (Office 365 or Excel Online)
VLOOKUP with helper column in lookup table
VLOOKUP with CHOOSE array formula.

Brilliant video and so easily explained. Thank you so much. This has saved me at least 15 minutes everyday trying to find values with multiple criteria.
I was burning my neurons to do an xlookup with two criteria and was a matter of having the "&" connecting the two criteria, thank you so much.
Thank You so much for explaining multiple cell criteria xlookup in 2,5 minutes!!! Superb!
Thank you so for much for making this video. I'd been looking everywhere for an explanation on how to do this. This video has solved my issue perfectly. Thanks again!

Thank you so much! I was trying to find a value in a table with multiple values. At first, I was using "Countif," but this was much better.
Thank you so much I was struggling with VLOOKUP the whole day and in 10 minutes I was able to do what I needed through XLOOKUP
Thank you very much really easy to follow tutorial and just saved me a ton of manual work ❤️
Thank you for your help. I had done the formula and I kept getting the wrong answer.
Still, I watched your video and learned I had to use Ctrl+Shift+Enter for older Excel versions. Thanks.
Thank you very much for clear and simple explanation ...
Thank you! Works great on excel data formatted as tables.
Thank you so much for this video !
I love xlookup
Hey...this multi criteria isn't working with Ms office 2021 in my system.. However its working absolutely fine on Excel web.. any idea what's wrong? I downloaded new excel functions as well and added in add ins, still getting and#NA error
Im getting #VALUE error. Pls give me solution
Great information!
Does the first example with 2 criteria work as-is in Google sheets? I cannot replicate it for some reason
does it work if the table are in different pages and not at each other side?
Thanks for this information 👍 , because as an accountant is very important !
Thanks so much. Quite helpful and I like your English!
I wanted to say Thankyou!!! Really helpful!!
Excellent, thank you very much. Could you please provide the same example but with multiple columns to lookup in the table array (I.E., say there were additional budget columns from a different fiscal years)
In the first step of the Xlookup function, is it possible to do a wildcard search on one of the cells? For example, it would start off like =xlookup("*"&$F4&"*"&G$3, ...? I am trying to output the result of multiple search criteria in my sheet, and it works when one of the criteria is an exact match to the reference, but I don't want to have to rename everything that is slightly off.
Thank you, it's very useful.
Hi Chester, love your channel! I am trying to use a VLOOKUP to pull a specific piece of data matched up below a column header and along side a row header. Do you have a video for this? I am really struggling!
For some reason I am getting a Value error and I am breaking my head whole day but couldn't figure it out. The lookup array is a different dimension and return array is a different dimension.
Great job!
Great really helpful
That's great!!!!!!!! Thank you so much.....
You absolute legend.
My file gets really slow after entering that formula, it keeps calculating every time I change cells, and I need the automatic calculation to be on.
Legend! Thanks for the easy explanation
What if lookup value in 2 cell and lookup array in 4 columns, how do will apply formula ?
I tried using ">0" as one of my criteria items but that didn't seem to work. Any solution where you want to specify a range rather than a specific value? Cheers
Excellent Thanks
Hi.
If 1 of my criterias are numbers(column F in your video), but I want the formula to still work if the number in the Data table is "within" 5 digits of the F cell criteria, then how would I change the formula?
Example: if F4 = 100 and A2 = 96, then G4 = £1,247.(training would be the 2nd criteria of course)
Thank you
P.S. I have 365
Thanx
És o rei mano
And here I was thinking of myself being so savy for knowing VLOOKUP, then XLOOKUP came along.
Nice job..once please given the excel file
See description.
Works perfectly on PC but not working on Google sheets
U sold a very big problem for me
