After seeing a video of guitarist Tom Quayle demonstrating "Midi Guitar", I knew I had to get it! Currently in beta, this program/VST plugin transforms your analog guitar signal into MIDI output. To demonstrate, I'm using several softsynths from Sonar X1 Producer to produce my sounds. I used it extensively to write this song, and here's my experiences so far:
PROS:
*Free Trial before you buy. You can make sure that it works on your computer. If you like it, the price is reasonable.
*Polyphonic. It can recognize chords without needing any special cables or pickups
CONS:
*A little more latency than I'd like, but still very reasonable. I'd say the latency is around 20-30 ms?
*Some of my notes don't pick up for certain chords. I'm sure this is still being developed through the beta phase.
As for my composition, this is my first fully-electronic song, so I'm naming it "Fatal Error" after the programming errors I receive as a web developer :). I'll be releasing the full version soon, complete with a rockin' video!
This is the only UA-cam subscription I haven't regret of, looking forward for more update e-mails in my inbox.
Thanks for the kind words everyone!
I can't wait until you finish this! That device is pretty neat... I may get one someday!
Crazy... i am sure you have heard it beign made many times before but that was just... crazy and insanely amazing
Amazing!
I was looking for something like this for years!
Thanks!
sounds good i'm going to think about getting this
Sounds cool Chuck
Amazing this is made of epic.
Man. Crazy skills
Wow man each track amazing, keep at it man, you have talent!
Awesome
Thank you :)
this sounds soooo sickkkk!
The program itself only has the demo piano sound, but you can output the midi to other synth effects that accept midi input
Impressive !!!!
around 1:00 it sorta reminds me of a rammstein song. I see you've progressed and have made change to your sound mr. dietz. rock on man.
Yes :)
....and you could also do cool things like this.......YEAH!
Awesmazing ! :D
man you are so sick! I just started practicing with a metronome to work on speed, I was wondering what you thought about metronomes? They seem like the least hardest way to get faster and stay clean haha!
Dude I think... that I love you
Hey Chuck keep it up dude! When is the mp3 coming out good sir? Keep on rocking! \m/
Thanks for the tip, but I'm actually using asio4all. I lowered the latency and set the buffer to 128 as recommended, but I still got latency. There could be something else that needs set, I may need to tinker with it more
great
cool! :D
I don't know what you have on your pc, but if you aren't using asio compatible hardware try asio4all drivers. Latency will drop a lot.
Please do another disgusting and face melting solo :-) it was epic!
Are those blue LEDs on your fret board????
Does the program only have the piano sound or does it have the "Lead" video game sound too?
I wonder how it would sound for bass?
hey what operating system are you using?
Windows 97, with office and fried chicken.
Is that a whammy pedal I hear? Lol
It’s a synth plugin trying to keep up with a guitar tone 😆 really cool side effect
Final Fantasy 7 anyone?
Aw it was really good until the WUBWUBWUBWUBWUB oh well
