  • Prior to the end of the 2020 Supercross season, we had the opportunity to visit the Flying Iron Horse Ranch located in Salt Lake City, Utah. It just so happened that the owner, Spencer Luczak, also known for his beautiful one-off project bike builds, had a 2020 KTM 350 SX-F waiting for us when we arrived at the ranch. Let us tell you, this build is nothing but a dream bike. Coming in at $36,000 in upgrades, cerakotes, and just about anything custom you could think of, this project bike is one that will turn heads anywhere it goes. Press play and take a seat because we dive deep into what this one of a kind build is made of.

    The kashima coating is for reducing friction on the sliding parts of suspension. not for the outer tubes. the japan guys musta thought, what is this american thinking.

    • @honda8192
      @honda8192 4 роки тому +3

      The kashima *is* for the fork tubes outside, although they come with kashima on the insides from the factory on Honda’s atleast. The lower coatings that reduce friction are dlc (diamond like coatings) or titanium nitrate coatings, they go on the fork and shock tubes (chrome parts).

    Probably as close to a Factory bike as you can get, nice attention to details, 350 in the 4t is where most no pro riders should be, see so many lugging around the track on 450s can blow by on a 125 2t let alone a 250, very nice job (for a 4t) good job and can ride too. 🤙

      $30,000, a lot of labor, and it's yours. I bet you could build pretty close for $8k over the cost of the bike. Some of those upgrades would be hard to feel. It's like watching a 70 inch TV vs a 65. You almost need them next to each other to see the difference.

    With all the tuning done to the 350 engine, how different is the ride from a stock 450?, I know it's lighter. I used to think just buying a stock dirt bike is a big deal (and it is at around 10k), but this is a whole other level. I wonder how much faster this bike is over a lap compared to a more stock bike-maybe just ECU, suspension and exhaust done on the stock version. The build looks amazing though, and the attention to detail is second to none.
