I read that her family taught her to be sadistic. I'm guessing the inbreeding made her potentially psychopathic as well. The trauma of giving up her first child so young probably didn't help either.

So interestingly enough, some Hungarian historians believe she was actually framed. The king of Hungary supposedly owed a huge debt to her husband and didn't want to pay it, so when girls in the area started going missing it's surmised that he found a way to pin it on her, and that a lot of witness testimony was probably given u set duress. The 650 number came from one of these witnesses claiming she kept a record in a secret diary of all the victims' names but the diary was never found. This case is so interesting because there's really no way of knowing how much is true or how much (if any) was fabricated. Anyway you're beautiful as always and I loved this video! 💗

I am really interested in this case and the frame-job theory. Another interesting factoid is that no mention of bathing in or drinking blood was ever made in the original trial. That was only added to the story about a hundred years after the fact. The legend of the Blood Countess is questionable, at best.

Im from Slovakia and yes the “legend of the Blood Countess of Čachtice” is very well know here. The ruins of the Čachtice castle which Elisabeths husband gave her as a gift and where she was later detained and where she died, are still there and are a beautiful sighting. Thank you for highlighting a story from my part of the world.

So interestingly enough, some Hungarian historians believe she was actually framed. The king of Hungary supposedly owed a huge debt to her husband and didn't want to pay it, so when girls in the area started going missing it's surmised that he found a way to pin it on her, and that a lot of witness testimony was probably given u set duress. The 650 number came from one of these witnesses claiming she kept a record in a secret diary of all the victims' names but the diary was never found. This case is so interesting because there's really no way of knowing how much is true or how much (if any) was fabricated.

I am really interested in this case and the frame-job theory. Another interesting factoid is that no mention of bathing in or drinking blood was ever made in the original trial. That was only added to the story about a hundred years after the fact. The legend of the Blood Countess is questionable, at best.
