Here is the problem with the Arteta comparison. While Arsenal did finish 8th in the first 1.5 seasons under Arteta, there were clear signs of improvement, structure and direction. We got more points, Arteta never complained about injuries or inheriting a problematic squad. Arteta got rid of the bigger egos and inspired confidence and cohesion. Ten Hag got rid of Ronaldo and sancho and managed to lose the dressing room.

The reason ETH kept the job after the FA cup and still has it is because there is no better long term option willing to come to the club. When that changes he will lose his job. Then again this is true of every manager at all times

So many bad takes. Kobbie isn't an example of a great player who has been badly coached. He's a 19 year old centre midfielder who hasn't played a full season. Of course he will have ups and downs. ETH isn't good enough. However, those players you listed off are bang average and highly overrated, mostly the so called butcher. A bad coach can be the difference between world class players finishing 1st or 2nd. It can't be an excuse for players finishing 8th.

The vast majority of Man Utd players other than Casemiro haven't won much of anything outside the Eredivisie. Personally I don't rate the league and I rate an achievement at Ajax even lower because they have such a huge advantage over the rest in that league when it comes to finances. Even the best Ajax side of the last 5-6 years is a mid table Premier League club in my view so its not surprising Man Utd are where they are right now.
