I find it sad that only a few people really like Christopher, he was the guy that reintroduced Doctor Who after a long "break". He was my first Doctor and he'll always have a special place in my heart!

Marlee Hauber Chris was my first Doctor. But he wasn’t my doctor. I loved David but still he want my doctor. Matt is mine.

I started watching as a young kid in the 60's & was scared of William Hartnell. Loved Tom Baker ...probably reruns in the mid 70's at uni. Wished Paul McGann had more screen time (loved him in Night of the Doctor) But I think Chis is my favourite. All that anticipation, waiting to see if Russell could pull of the come back and waiting with jitters & then he took Rose's hand & said run. Awesome love 10 & 11 too.

Neil, "The Doctor's wife" meant a whole lot to me. You gave the Doctor's oldest companion a voice, and a face. To me your writing of that episode was something more than just another episode.

I adore how manically insane Gaiman's episodes are - and it is all because he wants everything in his episode - all the Doctor Who shenanigans - and wants to make them stand out - and that they do for me! He's amazing at the mix between genuinely scary and the comedy side of the show.

Seems like a really nice fellow.
On a side note, trying to not sound like the Gaiman fan that I am. I'm really glad when I see a writer that loves the material so much put together an episode of a show.
    Well done!

The Doctors Wife was a perfect episode. Everything he described that he wanted to make me feel, I felt. I loved how he gave the TARDIS a face, a personality, and finally told us what really happened and how the doctor and the TARDIS perceived eachother.

Just imagine, Neil got to see all of Patrick Troughton's episodes before the BBC purge. That means he watched every second of Power of the Daleks in its original unaltered, undeleted glory.
I wonder how that assembly line scene looked.

That almost makes me feel like strapping him to a table and seeing what memories we could extract. He's just a hair older than me, but I have little recall of the Troughton years.

Gaiman's episode was AMAZING! He did all the things he said he wanted to do in this interview, and just in 45 minutes. Best episode of series 6 so far! Also, I'm so happy for Charlie (and a little (VERY) jealous!) that he gets to do all these Doctor Who-things, because I know he's such a big fan!

Listening to Neil's list of what he wanted to write...he nailed every single one in "The Doctor's Wife": there were scary bits (the chase through House!TARDIS), funny bits ("Bunk beds are cool! A bed with a ladder!"), exciting chase-y bits (again, chase through House!TARDIS), bits that made you cry ("Hello, Doctor. It's so very, very nice to meet you."), being happy while you cry (DOCTOR/TARDIS IS ENDGAME), and things that you've never seen on Doctor Who before (TARDIS as a lady!).

  • @TyrSeason

That is no thing to hate. That twist in the episode was an ingenious move. It really showed the dark tone of The Doctor, and you understood that The Doctor had lived through so much that this was what he'll become without a companion.

I met Neil when I went to see Amanda Palmer. He just casually walked into the room and returned my shy wave. He was so, so, so lovely, it was a true honour to meet him. I actually felt more ecstatic meeting him than I did Amanda, it makes me feel a bit guilty! But anyway he signed my drumstick and gave me a hug and we had a short conversation but I can't remember what was said, I was too awestruck >.< He should take over from Moffat.

That's the thing about the different Doctors. Everyone's favourite Doctor is usually the one they saw first. I was introduced to Doctor Who with Matt Smith. He is my favourite Doctor. It's because whatever actor is your favourite, you love him the most because he's the reason you fell in love with the show.

My Doctor is Matt Smith, but my first Doctor was Christopher Eccleston. And it actually took me quite a while to be sure that Matt was my Doctor, because I really love David Tennant... The thing is, I really love the three Doctors I've watched, and I see all of them as the Doctor, and not only as some guy playing the character, but Matt... I don't know, his Doctor is so lively and adorable, and so sad at the same time. I couldn't help it, I fell in love with him.
