@Dan put the engine of the Lupo GTI in it. Good engine for the polo with the weight of it enough power under the hood 😎
The engine and gearboxes are expensive that's an issue

And they require cutting most of the chassis leg off to clear the gear box, and a custom subframe, axles, exhaust and so on

Looks awesome makes me wishes I'd kept my G40..... It needs to go am out there colour... Something that hasn't been seen on a Polo too... Porsche Mint grun would do it. Then inside a pair of black recaro's with Mint Kerr tartan inserts..... 😲

Class work mate! Any thoughts on a colour yet? Would look great in either light baby blue or a light orange and chrome!
Hyundai racing blue would look amazing Dan I almost completed a coupe s in the past was guna use it for grass track racing then we had a fire in the workshop I had and I had too abandon the project but the blue looked lovely
I'd have it as a mk 1 but with all the modern stuff like dash seats engine from like a mk 7
That would be great but would blow the budget out of the water.
Really impressed with all of the work. Just one question are you going to lead load the welded areas or use filler, as it would be great to see them being sorted with metal as much as possible.

With the mk1 hubs are you using have you got mk1 wheel bearings? I’ve put some on my mk2 and the driveshaft was spinning, the polo and golf splines in the bearings need to be swapped over
What about a mini r53 Cooper s engine. Cars are cheap now see a few for 1500 ish quid.
I did consider these but not sure if it will fit as the bay is so small.

Yes bud, what was left was scrap. Bores were scored and the valves were all bent. Would cost too much to sort it out.
Looking nice on the ground dude there’s a mk1 golf 1.8 lump at the Tamworth Transporters unit for sale but it’ll definitely need a rebuild I could ask how much Neil wants for it if you’re interested
