Hola Mi gente. We hope all of you are okay. Since its starting to get a little cold here in NYC we wanted to make some good Sopa de Salchichon para calentarnos. 🇵🇷❤🔥With some white rice, omg delicious. It's very easy and simple, also just a couple of ingredients to make.

@@shali-. Walmart.com is expensive. Also depends where u live. If in NYC any where🤣if upstate Walmart.com if down south try the supermarkets where they sell Goya products
It’s the Goya salchichon and I don’t cook it, growing up we always throw it in the boiling water
I don't live in NYC anymore. I live upstate now. I haven't noticed if Walmart here has Goya Salchichon. My family lives in Waterbury CT they have it over there I would have to buy it there when I go visit them.

On another note, please do not be afraid to give Coco human food. Check with your vet. Fruits, vegetables, yogurt and many other things such as chicken and liver are good for our fur babies. The brand of dog food is where we need to be careful. Gracias por los videos. Buen Provecho!

@@jasminerivera7386 I am partial to Wellness brand. They have quality dry and wet foods. There are many good brands. Go to a local pet store and look around. Ask the workers. They know how good the companies are. Good luck.
Sopa de salchichón is the ultimate Puerto Rican comfort food. I remember when my mom used to make it on rainy days back in the Island. We garnished it with avocado mmm delicious!

Good recipe, but you know, what would make it better? Actual Puertorrican salchichón, that's Dominican salami, close but not the same!!

Yes! I haven’t been able to find it. I’m in NYC but all I have found in my area is the Dominican kind which is good but isn’t the same taste and texture for that authentic soup I had in childhood. I used some Italian Genoa and it seemed closer but I miss the salchichon mami used that had the cracked pepper and spiced up the soup perfectly.
I thought the same thing. But deliciously made.
@@jeannetterodriguez4663 omg that's exactly what is missing. That cracked pepper with the spices. The only one that comes close is the Italian one.

I love sopas de salchichón! But I believe that’s not Puertorican salchichón. Sorry for me saying this. That’s salami Dominicano. Puertorican salchichón has a reddish color. Similar to hard salami. And it comes with black pepper in it. Google salchichón la primera y te darás cuenta. Anyway I love your cooking! ❤️🇵🇷
Yes that’s not the Puerto Rican salchichon. To me salami and salchichon are two different things lol I’m Puerto Rican and I grew up on the Goya salchichon and peel the paper on it and chew it til there was no more flavor on that paper lol

Dude finally I find someone making this recipe with cutting skills 😉 everyone else I've seen making this recipe almost cuts their fingers
It bugs the crap outta me to see people who have a cooking channel with no cutting skills or with no good cooking techniques
As a chef myself I always point out ways to make it better 🤣
Like a lot of people add pasta but don't toast the pasta for more depth of flavor and to prevent mushy noodles

Perfect for this type of weather and also a nice smell in the kitchen that my boys wake up running to the kitchen .Mind you they are all grown men .lolol but good traditional authentic food is always a good thing .
