I have applied for a grant today with my chronic condition (apelapsy, neuroprofy, diabetic, chronic asmatic, high blood, the list goes on) I was told that my application is for reconsideration, I did not get any help from sassa even my epilepsy is not under control, I had an epilepsy attack 2 week's ago. Only certain people in our country gets SASSA grant, they don't care how you eat. I was told by a medical officer on site that I cannot see properly with my left eye and I'm going slightly deaf with my left ear even though my doctor wrote this in the SASSA form all they did was made me sign several forms after forms, I still didn't qualify, I was told that I have to appeal and wait 3 to 6 months for an answer. I was also told by a lady that was sitting with crutches that if you are not crippled that you will not get SASSA grant
When I entered the room I greeted the SASSA doctor and she told me to take out my medication 💊 ,she saw that it was almost half a bag full and told me to start taking my medication out of my bag , I started to take out the degranol, my diabetic injection 💉, tramadol, as soon as I reach my bag to take out more she told me to get out she don't want to see any more tables without even examining me or even put a finger on me, I just feel that there is no transparency in South Africa, for me it is like apartheid in reverse
