    Thanks for the comparison, I have just upgraded from x-pro 1 to 2 and like you say, a lot of small improvements just make it even better. You said people have complained about the iso dial built into the shutter speed dial. Back in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s all the film SLRs had this feature, it was the universally approved place to put the iso dial so it was accessible but would not be knocked off setting. The lift and turn feature to set the iso also very common.

    Just moved to the X-Pro2 from Sony A7II. I love it. It has this quality that makes you want to use it over and over. I love the quality of the hardware and the images. The lenses are beautiful. End of the day I am truly happy!!!

      Thinking about doing the same, do you not miss the extra depth of field, 8000 shutter speed, mega pixels and lower light capabilities?

    Good video and comparison...I'm perfectly satisfied though with the XPro 1 and the XE1...I like that original Xtrans sensor.....I'm sure it's a great camera ..but for what I do..those two will do the job for quite some time.

    Thanks for the review. I have a question which nobody seems to care much about to mention in the reviews, and you are the perfect person to ask: How much better is the autofocus on this camera, and how much of that is because of the new 35mm lens? I mean if I were to buy an X-Pro1 with 35/1.4, how much slower the camera would be in comparison to the X-Pro1 or X-Pro2 with 35/2? Is that difference noticeable in field conditions?

    Thanks for the X-Pro1/X-Pro2 comparison. I wish I had seen this video a few years ago when I broke one of my three X-Pro1 bodies and was considering buying an X-Pro2 to replace my broken X-Pro1 instead of repairing it.

    No question the X-pro2 is better than the X-pro1 so how come do I have more fun with the original one the same way I enjoy my old X100 more than the phenomenal X100F? Effeciency is one thing and fun is another...

    I think I would go xt2. First ever evf I tried was a Sony and hated them. Bought a pro 1 without using one and fell in love with the evf

    Hi Mate, you're clearly in love ( ; Couldn't agree more about the on/off button position. Was walking through a very busy tourist street in Praia Da Rocha, Algarve last night, holding my Panasonic G6 in my hand. I could flick 'on' one handed and it starts fast. Panasonic have a 'magic' button next to it that claims to optimise the camera for any given situation and knocking that on or off was also easy. Flick on, hit the magic button, take a shot or clip of video and walk on.

    • @DamianBrown
      @DamianBrown  8 років тому +1

      Nice, hope you put some vids together! Not a fan of magic buttons but you can't argue with that :D

    I have an annoying issue with my X-pro2 with 35mm f2 lens (the only one I tested.) There is a one click difference on the diopter wheel between the EVF and OVF. Fuji tells me this is normal. REALLY? This could be corrected in software but Fuji tells me they won't look into it unless there are a lot of complaints. This is a problem or not and not a polling issue, but check yours and if you have the same problem let's accommodate them by bombarding Fuji Support with complaints. This is not a cheap camera and the viewfinders can and should be 100% calibrated.

    tbh, just made the xpro 1 a great deal as prices drop. There's nothing amazingly upgraded on the 2. Just the expected upgrades really.

    I don't see the (cursed) Macro choice in this camera. Does it have it? I own a Fujifilm X-Pro1 and one thing tht bothers me to no end is that more often than I'd like I move the four-way dial up to the Macro position... and I very rarely do macro with this camera (perhaps I've done it once or twice ever since I bought mine). Does it happen with this one? In fact, does the X-Pro2 have a macro mode at all? Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for an excellent vid,personally coming from medium format (Rollie SL 66 ) and Nikon F4s and f5s I have settled on the Fujifim Xpro1 with two adaptors for my Nikon and Leica glass,i shoot mostly landscapes so Manuel focus is preferred,that sensor is special,I also have a Leica Deluxe 6 for hand held stuff so there you have it,I’ve been shooting and studying photography since the early 90s. Cheers

    Hi Damian, first off, many thanks for this series of videos concerning the X-Pros! I'm just starting out in photography, and as a newbie, I'm wanting to start to shot street. I was hoping you could possibly share some thoughts and advice as to whether I should go for the X-Pro 1, 2 or even X100T or F. The only other factor in terms of style of photography is that occasional I will be needing to shot architectural images both external and internal. I saw your previous videos concerning the X-Pro 1 and as I would be pretty much blowing my budget if going for the newer cameras, would it be better to purchase a older style one and use my remaining budget on new kit lens - once again, thank you so much for any advice available.

    • @DamianBrown
      @DamianBrown  7 років тому

      I lean towards the tilt screen on the X-T range... may be interesting in street photography and it is more compact. I would stick with the interchangeable lens body if you want flexibility for the architectural work. Though I do love the 100s for discretion. Get a first gen body and invest in the lens as and when you can!

      Perfect Damian, really appreciate you taking the time out to get back to me - will investigate the X-T range some more :)

    Looks like a great camera. I was looking to add an x100t to supplement my xt10 next year, but looking at this I am tempted to upgrade so I can utilise my lenses. How are the. Ergonomics compared to the XT series?

    • @DamianBrown
      @DamianBrown  8 років тому

      Hmm, if you have a bigger hand this may be preferable. Even though it's a block it fits well. Personally I'd go for the XT ergonomics over the X-Pro bodies

    These cameras have always intrigued me. I’ve been using the xh1 and xt20. I want to take the plunge but I’m hesitant to give up the xt20. How do you think the xpro1 performs now with native lenses. I’m sure it’s slow, but just how slow? Thanks

    • @DamianBrown
      @DamianBrown  4 роки тому +1

      For me the speed of the Pro1 isn't a big deal 99.99% of the time. But then I'm used to shooting manual lenses from when I started shooting professionally a long time ago. I do love the T20 though and it is noticeably snappier.
      The Pro1 is very cool especially at the second hand prices these days! If I'm completely honest the T20 would be more useful to me out of the two though.

    hi Damian, i am planning to shoot fashion studio photography. do you think my x-pro1 is sufficient? or should i upgrade to the x-pro2? i am planning to use the images for my website/instagram mostly.

    • @DamianBrown
      @DamianBrown  4 роки тому

      I think the Pro1 is more than capable in that situation. Personally I'd look at lenses and lighting upgrades BUT of course the 2 might be fresher and faster if you branch out a bit.

    • @sherwinh1661
      @sherwinh1661 4 роки тому

      Thanks so much for your reply it makes sense. Also xpro2 has tethering and remote function which might be useful for studio shooting if I want to see the images on a bigger screen like my laptop or iPad while I shoot

    Still waiting on XPRO 4
    No Dpad and hidden LCD just not nice
    So did not consider XPRO 3
    Dpad is 4 fn buttons. Removing it is crazy
    The new xt5 is nice - wish Fuji would put the hardware from Xt5 into xpro 4

    Isn't anyone else bugged by the angle dip on the dial deck? Makes the whole otherwise beautiful and functional design look...well..."dippy." The whole thing looks like a wedge even though it's an optical illusion. Why does a Leica M10 or even Fuji's own X100F look more serious? No dippy non-functional design "flares," with no function. I've tried to leave a comment for Jun Sato but there's no way to contact him. Fuji listens, but apparently only to pros on their list. If anyone else agrees with me please try to get through to Fuji design team before the X-Pro3 design is locked in.
