In 1969 we stayed in the old ww2 barracks. The day room and the orderly room were in a different building. The mess hall food wasn't to bad, it was lot better than the food that was served up at Ft. Sill in Oklahoma.
Very lucky to have a room like that my son is 2-506 and he and his roommate share a mini fridge and have a microwave and the room is about half the size of the room your showing from what I hear most rooms are like my sons pretty poor housing imo
He should have a room to himself if he's 2 506. I've never heard of someone not having a room to there self unless they just got there. Yea I loved my room.
I was in 1/506 from 2005-2007, and we had what you just described, but it wasn't bad at all. I was badly wounded in 2006, so I got sent to the Warrior Transition Unit, which had this type of apartment setup, but the shared space with a full kitchen was larger than this. I thought I was in heaven. At the WTU, they installed flat-screen tv's in every bedroom with free cable, internet, and a laptop. They treated us excellently.
@@DarkSoulja3323did you not read and in your video he does have a roommate just like you but his barracks are in poor condition your lucky to have a room like that you have a full fridge to share and he has a mini fridge to share and you have a stove and he has none so yeah your lucky
What a change from 1972. The entire company of around 30 people slept in one bay, so you had to listen to Black Sabbath and whatever else they played when you tried to sleep. The orderly room and day room were down the hall. We had one foot locker and one free standing metal closet for each person. Everyone's area had to be identical same beds, same foot locker and metal locker arrangements and contents all had to be identical and inspected by company commander .Then they moved us to WWII splinter village barracks with communal toilets that had no stall enclosures. So value your privacy cause we didn't have any.

@Heckabruh its all good brother I was too. Depends on what time you arrive, if you arrive between 0530 am and 1700 then wear your Ocps, if you arrive after that wear civilians. Technically I don't believe there's a specific time you have to get there so if I were you I'd just wear civilians and check in after 1700. Thats what I did. Ye, depending on what your unit is like..... depends how many times your room gets checked. And since your brand new it might be a lot more. When I cam brand new almost 2 yrs ago, I had my room checked every week.
So did I 😆😆. Until about 2 yrs before I joined. Na bro I had high speed xfinity internet in there with my 5k $ computer. Which lots of soldiers have that exact set up lol. But my room was awsome at the end, I have a little video of it im going to post. I got hurt really bad, but I'm alright. My leg, but ill be ok. Got me sad, last 10 months, they medically discharged me, nothing I could do. I hated it, tore me up, and the VA has been the Devil, they denied what I was medically discharged for. I feel sick, thats why I'm sort of all over the place. But ill be alright, ill post the last video of my room in a few months from now. Thanks for the comment.
Hey man thanks for this video im sitting here in this shitty ass kalsu reception barracks and i just found out im going 101st i had no idea what their barracks where like i just hoped it wasn’t this. No its randomly selected in basic. Maybe some things might have a little weigh in where you go. Random people get selected for fort Bragg if the Airborn cadre dont visit your Company.
I was going to fort hood. Then after the last pt test my orders were changed to Fort Campbell. I dont know if that had something to do with it but that's what happened with me.

Medical unit barracks are trash. Being a medic I hoped I would get sent to a combat unit that gets all the cool shit but I ended up in a shitty medical unit with mice infested barracks.
From what I see it's not bad. Regular homes, I'm pretty sure more kids you have or higher rank bigger the house. You can also get a house off base. I dont know to much about it but when I get back from vacation I'll let you know some more. Some of them can be old, but overall it's not terrible or "bad"
Didn’t you learn anything in basic. Room looks like trash. Back in my day, 1973, everything was organized and always ready for inspection. Army has become too soft.
I literally just moved into my room in this video. Never owning anything myself I was pretty excited just to have my own room, my own kitchen and bathroom. I dont give a shit about room inspections even though my room was always one of the best. Feel how ever you want I don't give a shit.
Is it still like this? I’m just very curious cause I’m assigned to Campbell and ship tmr.
