I used to teach third grade and the way I taught my students to remember horizontal and vertical was like this: Horizontal is the horizon…which goes, of course, across. V” for vertical is right next to “U” in the alphabet…”U” for up and down.

I luv you gals. I do wish that the Camera person would zoom out so we can get the idea of where you are stitching. The really close up views seem a bit too close for me to understand the paths that they are taking.

If you want to do ribbons the length of the quilt, how do you stop and start so it does not look like you stopped and started?

I would do them running horizontally so that you can go off the end of the quilt. If the quilt is directions, just load it sideways!!

Twill Tape is a webbing type ribbon. If you google it, you will see pictures.
