- In this video I'm testing the AMD RX 580 8GB vs the Nvidia GTX 1660 Super 6GB in different games in 2023. The AMD RX 580 8GB came out in 2017, it has 8GB of GDDR5 with a memoryspeed of 8.1Gbps with a bandwith of 256 bits and the AMD RX 580 has 2304 cuda cores. In my opinion, the RX 580 8GB is still a great gpu if you can find one for a low price and are interested in 1080p gaming. The GTX 1660 Super came out in 2022, has 6GB of GDDR6 and has 1408 cuda cores.

Great videos, keep it up. But i feel like you should keep the gameplay as close as possible because that could greatly effect fps as not all areas are the same intensity. (Albeit it wont change too much)
Rx 580 vs 1060...thats what i call fair comparison
although the 16XX were interesting video cards, they didn't age well, mainly because of the price, in my country a super 1660 isn't worth it at all, in the new gpu market there are better options and in the used market there are also better options.
The RX 580 is able to compete better in the market, despite the majority of the copies being used or the 2048SP (which is relatively weaker).
In general, both cards are not worth it, but if you find them used with small price differences (maybe a 30-40 doll difference), I think it's better to get a 1660 super, it will be better in practically everything.
I recently bought a GTX 1660 Super and it's pretty amazing!

@@deviljin9475 i'm still using an Intel i7-7700. So far, no problem at all though I feel you can squeeze more performance with 9th/10th gen or an AMD Ryzen 5 3600.
@@bogzystudios that's a beefy cpu but still overpriced where i live, I'm switching from console to pc soon and after calculating my budget i decided to go for a 1660 gpu with r5 2600 which i believe will provide best bang for the buck
@@deviljin9475 that's a good pairing. More cores and threads than the Intel variant. I want to try the RTX 2060 with 12GB RAM for a better longevity but it's expensive, nearly as cost as RTX 3050 so yeah i'll stick to 1660 Super for now

other than frame rate, 1660 has an overall better picture in every game

even on a budget a gtx 1070 is better than both its almost as strong as a 3050 (in every game got 1 or 2 fps less)

The architecture is weaker in terms of chip than the 1070, and now it will be heavily used after mining... A lottery, no matter how you look at it! And 1660 Super is still produced, not as widely as before, but still.

The 580 wins in all aspects, since the 1660, with a total increase of no more than 15% in fps, costs 4 times more than the 580

The pc i found has a 1060 3 gig GPU (single fan). I just bought a rx 580 8gig gpu . I was doinh research and the rx580 is better then my 1060 , the 1660 is better then the 580 but costs 60-70 bucks more. Correct me if im wrong,ty

YOURE RX 580 8GB and Intel Core i5-11400F should be able to run Call of Duty: Warzone at 1080p with minimum settings at a locked 60 FPS. it would be more cost effective to get a cheaper CPU (like ryzen 5 5500 or 13 12100f) and then spend the money you saved on a better GPU (like rx 6600 or 1660 super or even 3060ti) you would get better fps. 580 will probably bottleneck 15-11400f

I am getting 50 to 55 fps ultra settings in Witcher 3 on a 1650.
Also getting 60 to 90 fps high settings on Warzone last I checked.
And it takes only 75w while also supporting dx12_1.
one thing i noticed is the 580 renders more detail and deeper colors, hence the lower frames

se procurar no youtube todos testes vão ser quase a mesma coisa, 1660 super ganhando em todos jogos praticamente. isso q a galera sempre testa em jogos mainstream, jogos q em sua maioria são bem otimizados para amd e alguns até favorecem pc com gpu amd tipo warzone.

It doesn't matter. It's not about VRAM, it's about these 2 GPUs arent in the same category. 1660 came out a year ago while 580 in 2017. It's just one point out of a 100. Don't have to watch this if you wanna choose GPU, but if u like VRAM wars, only VRAM, then go for it.
1660S did not come out a year ago, it's from october 2019. 1660S is 1 generation newer than the RX 580. 1660S belongs to the RTX 2000 family generation and the gen after RX 5xx is the RX 5000 series which was rival to RTX 2000. Ez pz

CUDA cores or whatever both of them have stream processor.
None of these titles are showing where the 580 wins with its higher VRAM. Run that 1660 on a game that needs more than 6gb VRAM and it will stutter and FPS will be all over the place. Crazy to thing the 580 has more longevity as VRAM requirements are climbing.

The point of the video was supposed to be slower card with more vram vs faster card less vram and to see how that extra 2GB will be an advantage or not. But the test itself did nit really about pushing vram usage.

1660 price is twice of rx580, for budget PC better get rx580. instead of 1660, with add little bit you can get better cards
Even if used RX580 is cheap it is probably better to avoid it. Almost 7 years there bound to be hardware defect on the card. It is the same reason i'm not recommending used 1080ti anymore. And driver wise some of the new releases did not support cards from polaris generation anymore.

(В последний день видюху другую выбрал забыл блок на 700 поменять) и все это на матке msi z390 gaming edge. Тип по фпс все странно. Он просто не высокий. В какой нибудь the last of us все идет плавно под 100 фпс (настраиваю не под графику, а под температуру) и в кске максимум 300, когда тесты смотришь там за 500-600. Откуда такие цифры вообще…

This is not the best on a rx580 I did the same test on Fortnite and was at 105fps I love how they always have Nvidia over amd this is all set for favorite company lol😂 this was so much more towards the Nvidia side I'll make a video and post real results.
